As an aside, your brothers have given me insight when it comes to old properties and old methods of construction.

Great job Sadie. Tile adhesive is tricky on the vertical. It's hard to keep pressure on the scraper. Less like icing a cake more like running a fork across mashed potato on the shepherds pie. You have to lean into it. Wastes less adhesive and less clean up. Good first time attempt. 👏🏻

It's really great to see you back! A good tip from a once a first time tiler myself: Cover that counter, sink, faucet and part of the floor around the wall with plastic and tape it shut before you start grouting. No matter how neat you are, if it's the first time, it's going to get messy.

The colour scheme for the kitchen echoes the palette of the design on the bowl in the cabinet above the sink. Quite lovely.
