  • The Tokyo rig is fairly new to bass fishing. We are still learning the times and situations to use it in my opinion. It’s a go to for me when sight fishing or just bed fishing in general. I do use it in mats from time to time as well. This is what it was designed for to my knowledge. How have you used it with success in your fishing?
    For any of the gear I use all season long you can get it here: www.basspro.com/SearchDisplay...

    does anyone else feel spoiled with all of the awesome JUICE that Otter and others, post on youtube? I can remember 15 years ago, struggling with envisioning each and every new fishing concept that I had just read in In-Fisherman Magazine. Now, I can just go to youtube and watch private masterclass tutorials on EVERYTHING, take and apply what I learned. The only requirement from me is a continued love for fishing and an internet connection. Thanks, Ott!

    Love your videos Ott. Been a big fan since your FLW days. We met back in February 2016, at the outdoor show in Harrisburg. You gave us the tip to fish the Holston River instead of a lake in July. I found a guide and we/I had our best outing ever

    Tokyo rig is awesome, my go to. I feel like it’s better than a Texas rig. Better hook up percentage, keeps bait out of the mud, saves line from contacting a rough/ rocky bottom that frays line.

    Great video. I picked up the Tokyo rig a couple months ago. It’s leafy, mud bottom where I fish. This rig allows me to slow down a little bit more than a Texas rig and use smaller hops.

    If you are Fishing from the River Bank and mainly dragging through Rocks can you flip the Bullet weight around point facing up to prevent it from getting hung up as much.? I’ve never tried the “Tokyo Rig” but it looks effective.

    • @OttDeFoeFishing
      @OttDeFoeFishing  Рік тому +1

      It truly wouldn’t help much I don’t think. They make some weights that are more football shaped and I would think this would be the best to keep from getting in the rock cracks as much.

    The guys I know here southern California use it to punch cattails. It is an effective rig when fished from a watercraft. It will still get snagged fishing It from the bank. Has to do with the angle one has pulling the bait to shore while standing above it on the water.

    I don’t like Tokyo rig. Grass get tangled up all the time in the wires and on the weight. And fish are not blind, to much metal junk that detract fish from biting it.
