Honestly as a chef sometimes you just instinctively do it only to realise at the last second that you made the wrong decision. When your in college training they say never catch a falling knife and I’ll admit I’ve tried without thinking before and caught 2 knifes to which I have multiple scares on my hand when I accidentally knocked off but sometimes the brain goes into survival mode and you don’t get any choice in what the brain does I have quick reaction times so luckily I’m never hurt badly.

The sparkler incident was definitely Hannah’s fault but I don’t really consider it not really a fire but captain Sandy was right
As a chef you turn the heat off and cover the pan with a lid you don’t ever lift it across the kitchen and pour water on it especially if it contains oil

How did she "go nuts"? That is so stupid. Your idea of handling it well is just silently glaring, not communicating anything. That old timer cowboy routine is so out of date and useless.

Any Good Chef knows never put Water on Burning Oil, Cover it with a DAMP CLOTH… I would have SACKED HIM IMMEDIATELY NO WAY HAVE THEY PASSED A KITCHEN SAFTY COURSE……

But honestly, why didn't June go and look for the chef/anybody and inform her/them that the pan was burning, the kitchen was full of smoke and the ventilator wasn't on.🧐🧐🧐🧐

I once while working in a pub had finished work and walked out to vape with a few of my colleagues and all of a sudden the fire alarm starts beeping so we all went in ready to help evacuate people but it turns out as I breathed out the vape smoke as the door closed some got in and set it off lol 😂
How did it take that long to remove the pan from the heat 6:20. Even a toddler knows a pan with oil in that’s smoking should be removed or the heat turned off.
This chef does not know what he is doing WTF putting water on a pan, that should have been covered by a fire blanket or a damp cloth, then reported immediately to the Capt as an incident.
