Thank you so much, Joel! We’re thrilled you loved the knife! It means the world to us after all the time and effort we put into designing it. Your videos are such an inspiration, and seeing our project featured is a dream come true. Keep being awesome! 🙌🔪
@@quickfixstatHi! Thanks for your question! 😊 We’ve had great results using GreenTEC Pro by Extrudr. It’s a tough material but very easy to print with-similar to PLA, but with an exceptional finish. The prints you see on our Printables profile were made with this material and printed on a Prusa MK4. We’ve also created custom profiles for it, which you can find on Printables to make your setup even easier. Let us know if you give it a try! 🚀
@@facenameple4604 Thank you for your suggestion! Adding multiple locking positions for the blade is an interesting idea. We’ll consider it for future developments. If you have specific needs, feel free to share them-your feedback is always valuable.
@@woodwaker1 - I noticed that there wasn't a "no logo" remix. I wasn't going to upload a clean version without the branding, but whatever happens on my 3D printer stays on my 3D printer. 😀
@@siedliko Just pointing out the no remix. I try to respect what the original author has specified, but will admit that I have done some changes - just they never leave my shop!
That's the heirloom pack of razor blades. I inherited my grandfather's 15 years ago. I just got the halfway point. I expect the family will need a new one sometime next century.
One of my favorite little utility prints. I've made it out of cheap PLA & it worked fine but tougher materials are definitely better so it doesn't wear out over time.
You could anchor the table top to the strand board wall using angle brackets underneath. My "table" is a 24" deep melamine laminated board anchored to the studs in the wall with heavy duty shelf brackets every 16". Does not move even the tiniest bit.
I have a roll of PA-6 GF that I may try to print this with. I also have one more ASA print to do before rebuilding my toolhead to use a Cartographer instead of Tap.
I have some issues with my Anycubic Kobra 2. I still have yet to get a good print without screwing up one thing or another in the print. Either the infill isnt sticking to the walls correctly and staying rigid, or the first layer messes up or doesnt have a clean face, etc. Ive looked for help all over and have yet to find it even on anycubic website. I can buy a new printer but im a bit minimalistic so i dont want 2 printers when i have no use for two
Really like your videos on functional prints. I need these for my garage - I have to tear down boxes for recycling and always seem to loose my knife. I miss Fan Mail Fridays!
Would you be able to print some figures from the grounded video game? I’m planning my son a themed cake and can’t find any toys from the game. Please let me know as his birthday is next month!!
Just sayin I really don't recommend plastic + utility blades. If it breaks it can cause some serious damage. Even all the plastic blades at stores are using a metal holder for the blade.
Without an awesome printer and crazy good filament on hand $7 will get you a box full of fully functional box cutters. That said, very cool use case! Knocked it out of the park👍. I would love to see a double blade design for cutting strips of material that are a consistent width.
No offense but the top surface of your thumbnail version looks like it needs work. I understand it has a lot to do with the material. But is it possible for the machine to output better looking parts?
Awesome, I was just about to get started with my first print in glass filled nylon, and noticed my older Sunlu dryer only goes up to 55C. That’s not going to work, and was only JUST wondering if a better dryer exists…blammo, I open up UA-cam and you had just posted this video. You ROCK, Joel!
It’s totally reasonable to be wary of potential safety hazards but you’re acting like there’s conclusive proof that all CF filled materials are unsafe. There isn’t and it’ll vary on how they’re made. Don’t let the one hack’s UA-cam video completely shape your viewpoint. You obviously don’t need to use CF Nylon for this but also let’s not act like he’s promoting unsafe practices. It’s unknown at best
@@ZoroSeerus I'm just suggesting that a quick mention of possible risks could help somebody making a more informed choice when buying filament. I'm open to changing my mind if some new study comes up showing that carbon/glass filled filaments are safe to use. As of now, I'm sticking with non-filled plastics to be on the safe side.
Just curious if you can buy a utility knife for as little as $2.50 at a store. Why print it. The store bought knifes are also metal and have safety built into them. And I'm sure they'll last longer, I have a couple over 50 years. I do have 3 printers. But this isn't something I'd put in my pocket. I have a regular pocket knife for everyday carry.😊
Ever since Nathan builds robots made his video on CF filament safety, I'm concerned about that to the point where I stopped using it. Could you tell us your take on that?

@@fayron_global I am honored that you responded. Is there any way to pay for license for this?
Can you make a version that has multiple steps to lock the blade in place, rather than just fully extended, and fully retracted?

The blade in the desk....*chefs kiss*
The big advantage of 3D printing this utility blade holder is being able to emboss a friend's name into it and give it as a personalized gift.
But be careful, it seemed to have no remix labeled

Lol. I feel like I just backed that dryer on kickstarter and there's already a better one.
And you don't have to destroy it to fit a larger spool inside

I printed on in PETG on my Prusa and it works great. I wonder if they'll make an auto retracting version. Those safety blades are pretty cool
