    I am touched by the passion the Duke has for his inheritance. He embraces the building, the history, the culture and the wine of Anjou. Kudos for giving us a remote taste.

      @@shearmanmills8427 No surprise you can't spell. And sorry to dispel your ignorance, however his home is 'legit' it can be traced very accurately in ownership. Furthermore, the home of a duke as he is, was a civic building when it was built as they were part of the administration and defence of the nation. I assume you must protest regularly outside all local government buildings built in modern times as tradesman akin to those in the past built those too... Or perhaps you just save your bigotry for idle UA-cam comments.

      ​@@Andy_466Ill take your point a bit further. That comment said the Chateau was built by peasants. That's factually incorrect; masons, carpenters, etc. who built things like that were excellent tradesmen. They were highly sought after, well paid and many economists speculate the rise of the middle class was due to the efforts of the trade guilds and merchant class. Don't let idiots try to rewrite history because they're too stupid to understand it.

    what an amazing chateau! i especially appreciate these historical places that are still lived by their aristocratic family of origin. What a treat to receive a private guided tour from a descendant duke with such stunning ancestors. Thank you for filming and sharing this episode.

    Depuis que j'ai commencé à étudier français, il y a trois ou deux ans, je ne l'ai jamais entendu parler de façon aussi claire que celle de ce respectable homme, qui ne fait pas de fautes de grammaire en parlant ni n'abrège les mots, comme le font les parisiens, de sorte qu'on comprend facilement tout ce qu'il dit.

      Il faut faire toujours la différence entre le langage parlé de la rue et la langue écrite , littéraire. En effet ce monsieur parle correctement le français. Malheureusement l'apprentissage du français s'est affaissé depuis trois décennie en France.

    The English subtitles are perfect and much appreciated. The chateau is stunning, and I recognize a Murano chandelier when I see one, there are no words to describe the ceiling in the gold room. All the ceilings are beautiful, I am so happy you showed the kitchen it is just stunning; I am so disappointed when they modernize the kitchens in historic homes. thanks for keeping it original. the park views are breath taking. I would love to come and see the entire castle it is simply beautiful, thank you for the tour.

    The. Outside view of Castle and AREA around it ,, is very Beautiful !!!!!! The CEILINGS in all the Rooms. ARE. Out OF THIS WORLD !!!!!!     I am watching this on Christmas Day 2022 and I have enjoyed every second. I slowed it down so I could read the subtitles that way I could also see around the rooms at the same time. Thank you for the tour.

    What a fantastic host you are! No doubt you are a wonderful steward of your chateau and property. I enjoyed your enthusiasm for history. I especially appreciate the art on the glorious ceilings in several rooms. Perhaps one day I will visit! I am hoping for a trip to Europe!

    Une délicieuse vidéo qui est non seulement un régal pour les yeux, mais aussi une charmante leçon d'histoire sans jamais paraître ennuyeuse. Le duc a une façon de rendre tout ce qu'il dit assez apaisant et vivant à la fois. Étonnamment, monsieur le duc a fait une erreur concernant Anne d'Autriche à 21:58 - Elle était en fait la FEMME de Louis XIII et la mère de Louis XIV.

    I would love to be friends with them and be invited to their parties. I would be genuiely happy that they are renovating and keeping that gorgeous castle alive like that. I'd even rake their garden for free😂 Just to see that gorgeous art is already touching❤

      C'est pas une fierté. La famille en question est montée en proéminence en exploitant des enfants dans une cuisine et en s'occupant d'oiseaux royaux. Nombre d'aristocrates se sont opposés aux pratiques honteuses de l'ancien régime, mais celle-ci n'en faisait pas partie. Dommage qu'on en ait raté à la guillotine.

    Thanks for this! I am a descendant of the Cosse' family. I was stationed in Germany from 1989 - 1992, but at that time I had no idea, otherwise I would have visited this castle myself.

    I would LOVE to see France and this BEAUTIFUL castle home! I only have a couple / few more years left before I wont be able to travel, so I'm really trying before my health deteriorates. Such a beautiful home in such a beautiful country!

    Wow. That mantel shown in the first minute is so elaborate. It seems fit for Versailles Palace. Normally, I don't appreciate it, b/c it's placed so high up, you can't make out details, but in this case, you can easily see everything. And since it's stone, it will last forever - in pristine condition, no rot, no termites.

    I've been studying a bit of French these past few weeks only through UA-cam channels where normal French people are interviewed on the streets of Paris. I understood a good chunk of what the Duke said WITHOUT the subtitles. It works! Listening to Parisians speak at a normal rate with English and French subtitles actually works! I haven't opened a single grammar book. It's freaky...

    L'histoire de France et Europe m'avait toujours touché mon coeur et les secrets qui cachent derrière, visitons ensemble ces magnifiques châteaux avec leurs réels propriétaire c'est comme on regarde et entendre l'histoire avec un oeil moderne. L'histoire et les histoires vont vivre dans nos yeux et nos coeurs.

    To have a suite of Tapestries is marvelous! Most expensive room of the house, must be for the master or the most distinguished guest! I was thinking, more elaborate curtains for the modern age, but the place for tapestry is the bedroom, and perhaps a few scattered on the walls, other places.
