Well , it's not merely about possessing the ball against City ! This is just a fake accomplishment It means Southampton had the ball well in the first half , but they trailed since City scored and never was a threat.. They were good defensively and prevented City from breaking through but offensively ,not a bit! I mean their only half chance was from Amrstrong and he shot it wide.. Let's be realistics, what's the point of holding and possessing the ball when you don't create enough chances or shoot ? Southampton today lacked creativity and efficiency . They simply like robots mode , just passing the ball and giving it back to the goalkeeper then it goes a bit wide to the sides but they don't have the bravery to shoot like they used to do with Prowse or Romeu ! I also think they don't have proper wings such as the ones they used to have years ago like Walcott, Djenepo or Redmond! Maybe their current best winger was left on the bench lately and i'm talking about Cornet . City simply knew how to win .
