More with Timothée at TIFF 2018... goo.gl/dsjHck
I found this interview just today and I can’t help feeling, as I watched Armie Hammer, what a huge waste. The guy had everything and lost it all because of the sordid things he did. No more career, his wife divorced him and now he working in an hotel in the Cayman island to stay close of his children.
It must have been heartbreaking for Timothée Chalamet to see the downfall of someone who used to be a friend.
I love that Armie said "The movie show, No one paid to being gay, no punishment, nobody get sick, nobody has a wife that they need to tell or family drama" that great, most of LGBT movie always show all of that problem, but this movie show pure love.
Sweetheart I hate to bring you back down to earth. But in the real world homosexuality indeed does have many consequences-disease, broken relationships, rampant drug and alcohol abuse and general emptiness. Sad but very true.
@@dg-sl5jb Point is that this is generally what films tend to highlight. Telling realistic stories is great for everyone gives us something to relate to and learn from but what OP and Armie were saying is that it's nice to have some lgbt stories where the main character doesn't die of aids, commit suicide, do drugs or desert a family that depended on him. We're not all diseased/selfish, ya know
d g Wow you really have a dark and pessimistic view of homosexual relationships... In my country being gay is not a big deal. I came out as gay at 14, and held hands with my boyfriend in highschool. Never felt different. Where do you live? Maybe it's harder in your country?
Kry Kry Yes, it's heartbreaking but you're right. It's not easy for everyone.
exactly those peoples sick, who cares
Timothée is the most nonchalant, unproblematic, talented and gorgeous kid I’ve ever seen
who would say that Timothèe is 22 he looks 16 to me
He’s pretty much an angel 👼🏻
Rose amen to that 👏🏼🦋❤️
Didn’t he just say he’s working with Woody Allen
It's monstrously easy to be attracted to Timmy C. It doesn't even have as much to do with his appearance as it does with his demeanor and presentation as a pure and natural human being.
Timothee Chalamet is the epitome of cool.
Really? he looks a bit awkward in this video to me, adorably awkward.
Cool indifference?
he was like that the whole movie too! super attractive!
if cool is molten
Epitome
I can't stop staring their faces and try to find what or who they remind me during all the interviews. As if Timothee sometimes looks like a mixture of a very young Henry Cavill and Matthew Goode, and as for Armie, he is like a delicate combination of a younger Michael Fassbender and a bit of Ryan Gosling..
Armie is hottee than both of em
virgo micia matthew Goode slayed in 'stoker'
Sanam Singh actually I really liked that movie:)
virgo micia when Jon hamm fassbender and gosling have a child
Armie reminds me of Jon Hamm.
They're so matching haha
The host was fangirling
OMG I'm so ready for this film!! The novel was so good and I cried after reading it! I couldn't put it down!!
Happy end or sad end ?i mean in the novel
Azka Muslihuddin it’s pretty sad 😞
Sad end, i think it’s so sad.crying……..
The ending is real. I loved the movie because it portrayed my first love with a man. It wasn't the way I would have chosen to learn about keeping good boundaries but I sure learned the lesson well.
Please see entry below.
At the end of the day it is a bittersweet love story. We love who we love. When his father tells him how lucky he is stresses this point . To love in such a vulnerable and wholehearted way is the most beautiful gift ever. One of the few movies that did justice to the book. Serious props to all involved.
Can I just say how great the interviewer is? Like most of the time in interviews they’re boring and about their personal lives and stuff but this guy kept it relevant to their work and careers and it was actually interesting to watch. No stupid jokes to keep the audience laughing but actual content that was still entertaining
I saw the movie on the Zurich FIlm Festival. It is such a awsome movie. Hammer is really good but Chalamet's performance is just stunning. I'm looking forward to see it again.
I enjoyed the audible book and armie hammer narrated it very well. Looking forward to the flick
Will R where can i find it
Armi speaks super fast and giving very compelling answers
i think the sensuality makes it so much more beautiful and thought provoking than if it had been overtly sexual. it’s not a movie about sex, it’s about a bond between two people, about the desire, care, and love they experience. it’s love and loss and the intimacy of a beautiful relationship
Best soundtrack ever
I find it amazing how Timothée, as a straight man, can still nail every single scene in this movie
The movie is perfect, I'm crying at the end and I can't move on from it. Great acting from both of you!
I watched the movie last night (Monday, 05/21/2018). Even though the ending ripped my heart because it was a reminder of the similar heartbreak I experienced, the movie was phenomenal! I will more than likely not ever watch the movie again because of the reminder of my personal heartbreak, I loved the movie and highly recommend as a must see.
I know the ending is supposed to represent that love won’t always work out, but deep down if you are truly in love with somebody it’ll always be there even if they’re gone. All the memories will come back flooding when you even think or hear about that person. That’s why I found the ending oddly satisfying because even though oliver was getting married they’ll both never forget the moments they had. They’ll always have love for each other, but maybe not in the same way, but that’s if oliver actually gets married. Love will always find you, that’s what I hope to get out of the second movie. Sorry for the rant i can’t even proofread without crying
i really hope in the second movie it captured pretty much that, except possibly Oliver realizes that he'll never get the same sort of love and passion he got from Elio. And figures out he'll never be truly in love with the woman he was supposed to get married to, *god I'm crying* I'm just picturing Elio walking to his spot and seeing Oliver sitting there and them running towards each other, and Elio just clings onto him like a koala. And tells him about how he's realized that he's his true soulmate, and they live happily ever after together. *if that happens I will actually scream*
Andrew Siwicki Is Perfect right🥺🥺💗💗💗🤚🏼🤚🏼
It shouldn't be called a 'gay' romance or movie. People don't call The Notebook or Titanic, a straight romance. LGBT shouldn't be sectioned off, love is love.
i firmly believe that timothee chalamet is the only person who couldve played elio and made the movie the way it did
Yes
their life off-set sounds exactly like their life on-set/in the movie
they really do have a great connection
Armie Hammer = 😍😍😍😍😜😋
CUTE HE CALLS HIM TIMMY
i really love How these two are comfortable with eachother, i hope that there are no ppl who can‘t tell a difference between a movie relationship and a rl friendship. i am afraid that they‘ll make them feel uncomfortable....
Armie Hammer nailed it when he said how it works for every kind of audience.
This movie broke my heart..but I still love it.
I never fell in love and never understood what is was all about but this movie gave me a deep vision. Great movie, great actors.
Timothée and Armie' s outfits look similar.
I have not seen the movie yet. I can't wait. I am looking forward to it. I have not heard of either of these actors. It sounds like it's going to be a good movie.
No comparison to 'moonlight' - I didn't even think the characters were even necessarily gay, that's what's magic for me, it's a film we can all relate to and so incredibly beautiful. Every scene is a still to savour
Are you saying this movie is better than moonlight or this movie can't compare to moonlight?
This movie is better than Moonlight. Moonlight was great but there's no comparison in my mind either haha
VadaRose but in no way does that define the film.. perhaps you should see it before passing that sort of blind judgment
Ann Zheng it's not blind judgement if it's facts. It's a fact that it's about a grown man and a teenager who fall in love. It's an opinion, my opinion that I find it weird as hell and you're not one to tell me I'm wrong. If I find that strange and uncomfortable I'm not gonna see shit about this movie.
Haha, you do you.
i love how they are matching
Timothee’s smile at 5:20😍
They have matching fitss omgg
army is fooooyyyynnn
TC should've won the Oscar and Golden Globe for CMBYN

Arnie Hammer has such a great humor
TIMOTHEE 😍😍
I'M EXCITING FOR FIND ME (fuck corona)
Great movie. Timmy is so stinkin cute.
THAT’S IT. I’m getting a denim shirt.
I was curious about the origin of this movie. I found it to be amazingly put together! I was so surprised to actually like another movie in these days. What matters is that it was so entertaining! 5 stars I give it.
i love them.
I don’t know who I crush on more
Lol! They're both wearing Canadian Tuxedos...
Imagine spending time in a lil tiny town in Italy with Lil Timmy Tim.
Real couple.. Love It..
Love is in the air💕💕💕

Just seeing them together after watching the movie is just *sigh*
MTV has NEWS

Yea Timothee actually stated in an interview that in his daily life his friends and family call him Timmy and that Timothee is more of a professional name
Ms Lawton Lawtonnn
Matching jean outfits? Homeboys are gonna like...get it
😂
ania
ania go to bed bella
HAH 😂😂😂😂
Right? I love that all 3 of them are wearing denim but most of all I love Timmy's dark wash with yellow stitching, so late 70's.
I’m gay and I agree with Armie that it’s so special and amazing to see a movie where two men fall in love and they do not pay any price for falling in love with another man, just the price of falling in love with someone who is moving away.
Elio does pay a price; he had hopes the relationship would somehow be more miraculously permanent than it turned out to be. His heartbreak at the end becomes our heartbreak, too.
Aline Bastos i
Lillie Gordon ?
Aline Bastos 👏👏👏
@@thomasthompson6378 i totally agree with you. And isn't what we all go thru when we're in that age group? Falling in love, and 3 months later. We get our heart broken. I can totally relate to this love story. Passionate, pure and at the same time innocent. But all love. I just simply fell in love again by just watching this film. Bravo for such great actors, performance and director.
This is not a "gay" movie. This is a love story between two consenting people who feel a true sense of connection between each other. Love is not a gender. As long as there is a heart in a body love can be created. And for me this was a truly Beautiful story about two Beautiful people. I wish it did not end.
Sharon Lefkowitz Finally someone said it !!! Everyone talking about how "gay" this movie is but when you watch it, it doesn't even remotely feel like it's taliking about sexual orientation, it's just about love. Love has no gender, no limits, no prejudice and that's exactly what this movie shows.
Ps........ there's gonna be a sequel
Beautiful interpretation.
This is not a gay movie. It is a pedo movie about a grown man having sex with a boy!
rache I sorta felt the same until someone pointed out that the age of consent in Italy is 14..and that in the book it is known that Oliver is 24 and Elio is 17. It didn't seem quite as shocking to me then.
Awh, Timothee being excited about even holding a MTV mic. He's so pure.
Pretty Little Liar
He's so UKE
u like pretty little liars and also this movie please be my friend i adore u omg

“Call me by your name and I call you by mine”
still cant get over to this line
Big T have you read the book?
I remember everything again it will always be in my heart this movie
and also “is it better to speak or to die?”
The best two quotes out of this interview:
“I’ve been desiring a sexual scene with a fruit in a movie for some time and i read it and i thought “oh, this is it!” 3:30
“Josh, i’m a complete whore. I’ll work with anybody for anything.” 10:23
Literally made me replay it to make sure i didn’t imagine it
Edit: i just put the time stamps, thanks to @mary lee in the comment section.

I kept replaying this the first time i watched it😭❤️
STAHP😭😭
"well I've been desiring a sexual scene with a fruit" LMAO I LOVE HIM
once, my grandpa asked me what my favorite movie was and i said 'call me by your name' and he asked me what it was about and i just said "it's about two people falling in love with each other, and enjoying their love throughout a summer" and my dad said "it's about a gay couple actually" in such a demeaning way and it amazed me how closed minded and non-accepting people can be. this movie isn't about a gay couple, it's about two people loving each other, yes their both guys but that doesn't mean their love is different or not real.
Samantha Porras that’s his and my opinion
Izicus ?
@@chanthecreator1 OK no one cares u stay over in that corner with your negativety and ignorance can u just not spread it, this comment section is great so don't spoil it
Samantha Porras yes this is so true. I can’t even tell my family about my favorite movie, because they are so blinded about love being just one way, a man and a women. Love is not confined and finite, we are allowed to feel for more than just one type of person.
@@miaa3031 Some Parents are really insensitive we cant change their mind. Even Armie said his mom wont ever watch the movie because she is hardcore catholic
Timothee is hotter and hotter the longer his hair gets
Omg i come back 2 years later to so many likes 😂♥ thank y'all
i agree sis
I am a straight guy but can't understand why I am liking timothee 🤔🤔
I think he can't get any hotter
@Tash21 yes!
@Tash21 I feel you😖🙈😂
When they’re interviewed together Timothée is all cool but when he’s in an interview by himself he’s all giddy and nervous. I love how comfortable they are with each other and how great their friendship is
Lol they're dressed like David and Victoria Beckham from the 90s.
septillion2501 hehehe u wanna remake this movie 😉☺️

I can't concentrate when Armie speaks... he is the most handsome man in the world now. Jesus
Luis Plata sexiest risk taker, wasn't it?
That beard and deep voice make him sound so manly and 🔥🥵💕
I’m honestly not attracted to him. If I’d seen him before the movie, I would’ve been. But him and Elio will forever belong together (even tho that’s only in the movie) this is the one time I’m not jealous about an attractive man being with someone else
He’s totally totally delicious. Can’t put my finger on why his voice just sounds so special.
Armie?? You mean Timothée, right?
Ok but I am all for how normalized this gay movie is. I am sure it is getting tons of backlash but I have not seen any yet and I love it. Its so great to see a movie revolving around gay main characters without it being considered out of the ordinary. Just a regular love story.
000 00 Watch "Die Mitte der Welt". It is a german gay movie and noone cares about their sexualty. The movie is really gold:)
The film is really good for that but it's still totally straight washed so wouldn't use it as the best or the one and only film revolving around a gay romance
Marco Peter bruh that movie ruined my precious heart
Chicken Hands Yeah, I almost cried.
ask hollywood
i accidentally was looking at timothee the entire time
Omg same😌💅🏼
Sadbadbitch yes period sis luv him to the max 😩😩
I did that on purpose
niya monique LMFAO FELT THAT
Fiona Shelby cant blame us
will they ever get asked about something other than the sex scenes though
alva a lot of different things were asked
c beauty huge differ nice between consenting adults and minors
c beauty wrong. One is 17, one is 24. Both are consenting. Both are well above the age of consent, which is 14 in Italy. The younger guy initiates. There is no power at play. How is that paedophilic in the slightest? Paedophilia is attraction to pre-pubescent. Also, it's based off book, is directed by an Italian, has made a big splash at Cannes. Not exactly Hollowood is it?
Peter Allen yes 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ppl rly need to educate themselves before speaking
Let’s not forget that 24 isn’t that old 🤦🏽♂️
am i the only person completely in love with the fact they he was like, sorta excited to see fan art of the two of them together >W>
That's me =))
I was too! I was hoping for some top-notch Deviant Art drawings of the two of them in sexy positions lol
I feel like he actually has feelings for Timothe
Imagine kissing a person so many times, and even worse - spending the whole 2 month with them in the most beautiful place riding bikes and seeing places and eating wonderful food - and staying unaffected. Then somebody does as much as complimenting my work I think about it for like a week.
Omg when will we learn to stop questioning celebrities sexualities. It’s so hurtful and damaging. People did it constantly with Shawn Mendes and he explained why it’s such a horrible thing to do. No one cares if you ‘think’ that their a sexuality other than what they’ve told people they identify as, it is NOT anyone else’s place to decide that. And can we stop shipping actors together just because they’re good actors and portray their CHARACTERS relationship really well. All it comes down to is being talented actors and good friends.
“after dinner we would go back to his place or go back to my place and rehearse” 😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏😏
... and rehearse making out.
ew what
Isabel Attenberg ew??
@@arcticclients2633 ew because the actors are not together in real life and would probably be uncomfortable at this comment as it suggests that they would kiss while not playing characters?
Isabel Attenberg they said in a interview before each take they would make out for about 10 minutes to ease tension and to make the scenes less awkward try agian😂
lol I love how both of them point out a couple of times how the movie "isn't just about sex" and MTV then decides to title an 11 minute interview about the movie and their experiences "Timothée Chalamet & Armie Hammer on the Sex Scene In 'Call Me By Your Name"
Facepalm!
Its a way to get views. Don’t blame the interview, the average consumer is more likely to click on something sexy.
LEANDERstudio k
well thats what the people want lol
The actors did that interview because so many people were curious to know more about the frisson between them. The movie hopes to make its viewers understand, exactly, that their love "isn't just about sex." If you don't see that, you've missed virtually the whole point of the film.
I want to lay under Armie Hammer.
Edit: This aged horrifically. I'm sorry to all.
Fat mood
Jean Kennedy Armie is 6'5", plenty to go around. He beats up Superman in Man From U.N.C.L.E.
Yeah thats a good idea

This movie was the most incredibly love story I’ve ever watched. Nothing has ever come close to capturing the lighthearted, childish energy that first love is like. I cried for the character in the movie, and I also cried for myself; for my first love. To be that young again.... oh what I would give.
The incredible adventure of two girls in love does a great job with that too

David omg lmaooo😂😭
my favorite thing about this movie is that it’s not about sex. every teen romance movie nowadays feels like the whole time there just building up to sex and they have so many scenes like that. the movie is about pure love, and a lot of their interactions feel more intimate than the sex scene. it just feels more real, and i praise these actors for seeing the movie beyond its gay love and seeing it just as a normal romance
What sex scene? The camera would just pan to the same bunch of trees every time. You never see anything.
Jennifer Mavens but you’re left imagining.
honestly lmao
Jennifer Mavens exactly, you see them make out and straddle each other and then it pans away, the peach scene was more sexual, even the scene with the girl was more sexual yet no one talks about it lol
@Ailes KSKSKSKSKSK
treg1980 the movie was set in 1983 though, not 2017. And the whole point of the movie and relationship between those two wasn’t for the sex scenes, it was about pure, real love. Having a steamy sex scene would take away from it, it’s much more intimate to have the viewer imagine it.
What I love about their friendship is the fact that Armie is really protective when it comes to Timy. It's like he's still in his role and he feels the need to keep an eye on him, just in case. :)
Saw this for the first time 2024.. I’ve been crying for an hour now. Needed this film.
Every time an actor plays gay, an instant question is "how was the kiss? How did you handle a sex scene?" and I'm like, what is this, junior high? It's ACTING, it's not Porn. Do these people think actors are really doing it on Film? Heck, even the kiss is fake. Amie Hammer comes off as very shy and Chalamet is a milennial so it's a non-issue for him.
Pixie Lavender But no one is saying it's anything like porn. It's a fair question. Two straight dudes swapping spit with each other for the sake of acting requires bravery. Even Armie admitted he was uneasy at first. Don't undermine the bravery and talent here!
I'm rolling my eyes. Bravery? I've kissed women and I'm gayer than a box of velveeta. Do I deserve a medal for that? There's nothing brave about doing your job. And Armie has already kissed a guy before in "J. Edgar" with Leo Dicaprio. It's 2017, this kind of questioning is nothing but gay-baiting as well as trying to get a response which could be misconstrued as homophobic.
I'm rolling my eyes. Brave? I've made out with women and I'm gayer than a box of Velveeta. Do I deserve a medal for that? And Armie Hammer has kissed a man before in Film, "J. Edgar".
Pixie Lavender Eye rolling back at ya bud. If you make out with an 80 year old grandma for a scene, people are gonna ask you about it. If straight guys make out for a scene, people are gonna ask about it. It's not about sexuality. It's about comfort. armie specifically stated he originally felt uncomfortable about it. Why is that so hard to accept, and why are you undermining their talent as actors?
To be fair Armie never specified it was the gay aspect to make him uncomfortable as much much as the level of intimacy the scenes required(he said he was afraid he wasn't able to pull it off and it was the first time he had a movie with that level of intimacy). But I agree that it is inevitable for these kind of questions to come up...at least nowadays actors are gracious about it. A few years back for Brokeback mountain you should have heard some interviews, questions like these were more direct and the answers from the actors were stunningly awful. Like they had to battle inner demons or something, kinda ridiculous.
Do they ask the same to gay actors playing straight romances? Or value their "effort" as much? Probaly not.
And who knows how many actors in Hollywood are in the closet and constantly have love scenes with the gender they're not attracted to...and if they come out they don't get many job opportunities. It is unfair to think about.
