Like a strange plot twist after Beijing 2008, China had to reform its state-run sports school system, the engine behind its gold medal rush.

Am I the only one that this system changed? I remember watching them make their students cry cause they were hurting so much. I'm so glad that that has changed it better for the kids!

Interesting video. I'm really glad to see them start promoting better sports and exercise for the students there. We will definitely see more Chinese competitors in each Olympics in the future. I'm mainly hoping to see in track and field as its always either the US or Jamaica in the sprinting events. Just a fun fact, it's sad their Taiwanese counterpart are doing the opposite, raising school hours until almost 9pm for graduates and promoting health drugs as the source of a healthy life.

At 6:20 Chengcheng she wishes she could spend her youth differently, but if she wasn't in the sports school system, teenagers in normal Chinese schools would instead be confined to endless studying and no room for mischief either...

Chinese sports schools reforms will definitely benefit China & the athletes. With these reforms we will see the rise of China in many sports like athletics, cycling, tennis & many other sports.
