- One year ago I began working on Sail - an open world pirate game for virtual reality.
This is something that I've wanted to do since for a long time, and it has been a fulfilling experience so far. In this video I wanted to share the lessons that I've learned along the way and what I've learned about making a vr dream into a reality.

I would love to see big monsters in the game that you can fight with the ships cannons because they seem pretty useless right now.
Also I would love for this to turn into a sea of thieves but in vr that would be so fun.

@@Sail_VR yay I know I plaid it in VR that lathing was what got me and I just thought why are the key 4 feet from the chest and when I locked up I was surrounded by all the skeletons and I coutent kill them

just got this last night after watching some videos on some less heard of games, after watching this i really can't wait to try it out, your ambition for this game makes me very excited for what's to come as i was a huge sea of thieves fan. im a huge fan of pirate games but this is next level even on its early stage. i had so much doing the treasure hunt,i hope we get a new update soon i honestly cant wait for new content💙🔥🔥

Love the game but we need more fixed mechanics and bug fixes if your driving the ship and turn the wheel too much one way your character starts drifting, im not sure if theres a way to save game yet, items seem to go missing if you drop em sometimes hiding inside of something and its kinda annoying having to pull out the inventory everytime you put sumn away would be easier if you could just put the objects over your shoulder👍🏼❤️
Ya we’re aware of these bugs. We are working on fixing them and making sure all the fundamentals are sound . Not a bad idea with the over the shoulder mechanic for storing stuff

Play Station VR? Ya I'd *love* to. But it will probably have to be for their new VR headset coming for the PS5 which still isn't out so we'll see :)
When you shoot the gun in Sail the grey smoke lowers the frames for a few seconds
another thing is when using the map some of the text isn’t visible on some islands unless you have to keep moving further for it to appear
We're working on that! We're thinking we'll make a more realistic particle effect. So improvements are coming soon!

I have seen this in sidequest and I play sea of thieves and I can't wait to download this and play now that there's more to do. Always thought this would be either lots of fun or make ya very sick lol. Let's just pray the ocean is nice and flat and not that rocking nightmare from sea of thieves lol

Can you plz add a boat unstuck feature because when I go to sell stuff my boat always gets stuck and I can't get it out
There is a feature. Check out the get your boat unstuck video on my channel. But we’re going redesign islands so you can’t get stuck
Dude, im currently downloading it, and this seems like a dream of mine! Ive always wanted a vr game where i can sit with a crew in a ship saoling, having pirate wars. Cant wait for multiplayer!
Oh and will it ever cost? If its above 30€, well then my broke ass will just have to move into the boat ඞ

i have a question:are you ever going to release this game on pc? like in steam? cuz i WANT to play that game but my parents are definetly going to scream at me if i ask for them to buy me a LITERAL VR when i already have a freaking gaming pc

Not my place to tell you how to game dev but a few suggestions.
1 multiple pistol slots. So you can just quickdraw like blackbead.
2 some way to push the boat. Ive been marooned more then a few times. Lol.
But thats just my opinions its seriously a great game and im super excited to see where it goes from here. Multiplayer is gonna be a great addition.
Just out of curiosity how much contest is currently in the game. Ive visited all the islands on the map and ive not really found a use for any of the combat stuff. Is that coming later or is it there already and im just dumb lol.

Currently there is only one spot where combat happens but there will be a lot more soon.

I play this game and I love it but I play the free one and I don’t know how to get different boats and if you can’t get boats in the free one please add it
I’ve had a bug where I can’t open the chest on the start island even with the key
Might be the wrong key. There are multiple chests and keys on the map at any given time
@@Sail_VR it was the one from monolith and the chest on the spawn island
Can you pls update the game on oculus quest 1/2 because it is still the same as when it first ever came out
We are working on a bunch of updates and will enter the Beta phase here soon so that update will be very soon
Is the game going to remain free because i have had it since march and absolutely love it
