The Most Insane VR Survival Game - Green Hell VR
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 лис 2024
- Green Hell VR is a crazy realistic survival game. Which I've never seen before in a VR game. This is a brand new kind of gameplay for me and it's really fun. I know it was ported from an original Green Hell game that was flat screen. But it feels built for VR. It's a good VR game because it takes advantage of being in VR and being a survival game at the same time.

Yep, every damn time. Its why I decided to become a smooth brain. I don't know how he does it, but I get this gut busting chuckle from somewhere deep down in my soul with every video.
Coffee included
And neither do you…
When you were referring to the (tripping mechanic) for the mushrooms in this video YOU CAN ACTUALLY DO THAT IN ANOTHER VR TITLE! I found that out back when I was playing the Wanderer VR game so I definitely recommend it! Instead of eating mushrooms tho you lick a blue frog you find and it makes you start tripping out haha
Minecraft VR with the Nausea Effect is good too
I love Wanderer! You have to put so much work into getting those frogs lol
Wanderer is such a fun game, it reminded me of my mother’s puzzle games she would play on her kindle but in VR and with a better story
I've got my eye on that title. My backlog is so huge though, I can't justify buying anything less than an amazing deal that's impossible to pass up.
You can do that in THIS VR title. It has several ayahuasca scenes.

Those are worms because you slept on the ground. You need deconstruct bones to make bone needles or kill a fish for its rib bones. You can use them to take the worms out. You can also make bandages from this plant with long leaves and yellow flowers. Also, a stick, two rocks, and a vine makes a good axe.
There was a time when the UA-cam comment section was the go to place for people to ask questions they could have easily googled themselves lol, it's the whole reason that one link was created that sends you to google and searches whatever the random person wanted to know

This actually DOES relate to a primal instinct. The first tools ever used by our ancestors came from Homo Erectus banging rocks together.
It was a fundamental aspect of their survival, which lead to the evolution of Homo Sapiens. So I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if some small Erectus part of our brain still gets instinctive joy from that "clack clack clack" of two rocks going at it.

I recently played Green Hell VR and have come to realize that you may actually be as smooth brained as you claim to be.
The tutorial was extremely simple and the item you needed to progress was literally just the can directly in front of you with a white dot on it basically "hey, you can literally just use the force on me".
I love you and your videos all the same, besides, my smooth brain didn't realize that when you open a hole in your arm to remove worms that you should probably patch them up.
habie, I really appreciate having watched you for a while. you've added so many games to my library through your excellent showcases.
bravo, dude.
A tip for the parasites, kill a fish with a spear, then skin the fish, you'll get meat and fish bones. Then use the fish bones to remove the parasites
The game just throws you in the depths so you have to figure everything out yourself. Took me a while to find out you could use the fish bones. would have saved me a few times of dieing if I had known earlier :(
Gonna try this on stream today
The best part about this game (VR or non-VR) is that it *intentionally* throws you to the depths, too!
You are *expected* to try to figure out how to survive, learn what is and isn't safe, etc etc. All from nothing but your own intuition and slight guiding.
It's definitely one of the best survival games out there right now, up there with The Forest, The Long Dark, and Terrafirmacraft.
you can also break a bone (they can be found in dead animal carcasses, just look around) and that will give you a bone pick that can be used the same way, also tap on the smart watch to change screens.

I see what you did there.
I played GHVR recently, and immediately I started going crazy with the crafting, speedran stone tools before even bothering to talk to Mia about anything
I died 4 times in my first 6 hours of playing the story
1. Fell to my death
2. Ate the phallus shroom, I knew it was poisonous irl but I was curious how poisonous it was in game. While sick, I didn’t notice the rattlesnake in my way as it then bit me, and while I was panicked from getting attacked and further sickened, I ended up getting bit twice more before realizing the snake, I beat it to death, then made my way to a cave, where I was soon finished off by my paranoia making me investigate a rustling sound-which was a scorpion which stung me thrice in my efforts to find it, finally killing me
3. Fell to my death
4. Killed a dart frog, knew better than to grab it, but not enough to know not to cook it, so I got extremely sick, was already marked for death, but of course I just got that hamster in me, I gotta unintentionally die with plenty of suffering. So while I’m insane and sick, I’m trying to replenish my water and accidentally got my coconut bidon contaminated after filling it with river water and leaving it to ‘boil’(it in fact does not boil), so I drank it all and got parasites up the ass, then as I’m trying to find food, I get bit by none other than a fucking wandering spider, twice! So while I’m insane, puking my guts out, and got tapeworms colonizing my guts, I’m now further sickened by the damned spider, desperate for any food, I killed and cooked it, I was eating more wild flora and fauna than a Chinese man, before long, I’d managed to pick the entire area clean of food. Now, the crazy thing is, I managed to pull through the worst of it, which is shocking, but alas, like I said, I was marked for death, maybe a solid day or two after surviving the brunt of my ailments, I succumbed to the poison
I had such a good laugh reading this😂
Can’t say my deaths was any better though
Fun fact, the parasite is based off of a real parasite but it actually comes from a type of fly usually found in the Amazon (I think it's called the botfly).
That's the fly's larvae, and it burrows deep inside until taken out (usually painfully as it sticks like a motherfucker with sharp hooks) eating away on the flesh. The part with the larvae doesn't look exactly like the one in game, as it would look more like a huge bump due to swelling with a big mosquito bite hole on it (the hole being where the larvae is). The best way to remove a botfly on human skin is to apply petroleum jelly as to suffocate the larvae and allow to remove it safely and less painfully the next day.
The larvae naturally falls out once it grows older.
Yet another reason why I hate nature and being outside.
Does this game have Candiru? 😭

Hey, maybe we don’t try to fuck a mosquito bite looking hole caused by a parasitic bug that eats human skin and plants larvae inside you?
I havent played Green Hell but based on The Forest I think you have to complete the top of the structure to sleep in the bed. You haven't completed the shelter as a whole, so you can't use it. Hope this helps :)
I was looking for this comment! I was like "you can't sleep there cause the roof is missing" xD
Yes 100% he needed to complete the structure
it’s actually not even that, to sleep in the bed you just have to stand on the bed, tap your watch until it gets to the tab that says leaf bed, and then hold down on it. you can actually sleep anywhere anytime in this game, but without beds you’ll get parasites
@@ripbraincells8534 Reading the wiki it sounds like you'll get parasites from beds low to the ground, requires beds higher above the ground.
@@ripbraincells8534 I've never played and was questioning their comments, like that sounds miserable only being able to sleep in a shelter but you cleared it up, thanks!

Oh man I loved Green Hell. I played it with a friend after we finished The Forest. I'm usually not one for "hardcore" style games, but Green Hell got me good. There is just something about it that's just so good. Maybe it's developing this crazy sense of perception in this super dense forest (after stepping on snakes for the first dozen hours).
Imo it's pretty simple, and the same reason people still go camping: most enjoyment in our lives can be related in some way to our survival in the wild - therefore an efficient way to create enjoyment is to simulate aspects of our survival.
My friends and I used to play a lot, but I kinda got too frustrated having been chased down by cougars every two minutes after exploring.
@@lulub517 Yeah! There's tons of annoying stuff like that. Thankfully nothing in the game is impossibly difficult to deal with though.

God they should port we happy few to vr, the game's all about taking 2 or 3 drugs, and it's a simple game, so It would be sick in vr.
I was considering picking this up before I found out that the main game and the VR game were two separate, fully-priced in-progress titles at 25 dollars each, instead of something like The Forest, a 20 dollar finished game that supports VR as a gameplay method. With all the neat mechanics present, I'd be willing to pay 30 for a single game that I can play in both PC mode and VR, but not 40 for their "bundled" price of both games.
Fr they did a fallout 4
Isn't it two different games though? First they developed the game Green Hell and then later on they developed Green Hell VR. It doesn't seem like just a VR port. So it would make sense that the developers would get paid for developing the VR game too!
:)
@@K4113B4113 it's literally the exact same game but in vt
@@nondescripthandle212 Oh alright. For the record, The Forest in VR is a really terrible VR port. The controls are absolutely horrendous. I’ve only seen videos of Green Hell VR but I can tell its VR mechanics are much better.
Now switching the main camera for a VR camera and get the arms moving should be pretty easy. But to go through the entire game and create VR animations/motions to correspond with every event I’d imagine takes a long time and lots of effort.
It is possible that the developers spent a lot of hours on the VR version. I guess we will never know but we could give them the benefit of the doubt and compensate them for their work.
Besides, if game companies start making money on VR titles they will start taking chances and making awesome VR games.
But if people think that 40 dollars for the base game and for the VR version in a bundle is too much money then maybe it’s not worth it for them to even develop these games.
But I could be wrong and maybe this particular VR port is just greedy idk 🤷♂️

You mentioned tripping balls would be cool, but making and drinking ayahuasca is a core element of the story progression, so keep playing until you get there if you actually really want to see some crazy shit
Making drugs is a forced part of progression, so if you want to play more, you have to make drugs.

It would be fun if they made a Vietnam war game on vr where you had to fight the NVA and Vietcong. Like you had to search tunnels and also fight tropical diseases, animals, insects, and where you have to search villages and figure out if people are secretly Vietcong or not. I know it would be a lot in a game but it would be cool to have a game that accurately portrays the Vietnam war.
Bonus mode: You play as Vietcong in an experimental art experience where you die horribly three minutes after waking up to screaming and your village on fire

You’ll probably never read this but I’ll throw a game recommendation out here. There’s a game called a township tale it’s really fun. As someone who has taken psychedelics. VR can never do a trip justice. If you don't know what I mean when you can listen to a song and feel like it's too chocolate and needs to stop being so chocolate. You'll never know what a trip is like. I also remembered a song the next day based on the colors I saw while my eyes were closed. Tripping is like trying to make sense of absolute sensory chaos.
