    Down 60lbs since January 2023. Slow and steady wins the race.
    Just take it one week at a time.

      That's great. Don't get down if it slows. Your body can fight you a bit.

    I've just come across Sal and I think he's great, both for people who want to start improving their health as well as people like me who've been interested in health and fitness for a long time. He's just got a really balanced outlook and I agree that health and fitness has to come from care for ourselves not punishment.

    I began weight training for about 4 months straight,4 times a week.
    I felt great and was seeing progress
    Then I came down with covid and was sick for 2 months.
    That happened before October. Im having such a hard time now getting motivated.
    I love the idea of going back to the gym,But when it comes down to it.
    I lack the desire.
    I really need to make it a habit again .
    Thank you for the advice and Happy New Year 🙏

    Belly fat is PRIMARILY due to high cortisol and high insulin, so managing stress and stabilizing blood sugar is critical.

    • @Rtr.AmanJha
      @Rtr.AmanJha 9 місяців тому

      To stabilise sugar levels the simplest method is depleting glycogen stores via muscle movements which will also release endorphins if done correctly, making it a stress buster. Stress management is also done here by pattern-breaking and doing something new.

    • @Rtr.AmanJha
      @Rtr.AmanJha 9 місяців тому

      Also cortisol is increased during longer bouts of exercise and undue stress on the body caused by doing so many exercises together rather than spreading them out.

    • @Rtr.AmanJha
      @Rtr.AmanJha 9 місяців тому +1

      And using part of your glycogen stores daily helps redirect the sugar intake towards muscle rathed than fat, and the microtears help increase muscle mass and bone density which is much more metabolically expensive than fat, causing fat loss without weakness and lethargy.

    I have discipline in my eating habits but when it comes to working out... not so much

    • @Rtr.AmanJha
      @Rtr.AmanJha 9 місяців тому

      Get some light dumbbells(or even water bottles) and do only 5 sets of 10 reps of any exercise you like every day. One day upper body and other day legs. You can even divide it throughout the day, like 2 sets(only 20 reps) in morning, 2 sets during afternoon, 1 set in the evening. Or can just do 50 reps straight if you want and can. No need to wait until failure or increase the reps or sets for the first entire year. You can surely increase the weight a little if you want more challenge.

    Definitely gotten into the phase where I crave and enjoy healthy food, especially after Christmas with indulgence that really makes you feel bad 🎄 Balance is key! 😊💪🍗🥬

      @@luvmyjujuntootie if you avoid processed garbage for a while your palate basically resets I feel, and especially if you're actually hungry rather than having just cravings for flavors most things taste better 😊 but just my two cents 😅🥬🍳

      @@JohanFitFoodie thank you! I did a 30 sugar reset I found it to be beneficial. I think if I plan better I can get rid of at 70% of the processed foods.
