Satoshi's English English is a difficult language. True, the speed at which Satoshi speaks his words is not as quick as that of a native speaker. However, when he speaks, it is clear and grammatically correct. You're doing a great job, Satoshi. :) Btw, there are so many Americans who's grammar is way worse, no lie. That means that your grammar is better than that of some Americans. Just ask Shinichi, he'll tell you. You're doing great! :)
@@mihalytamas2433 Honestly, I feel like Japanese is not as difficult as people think. I'm pretty sure it is the Kanji that make people think that it is difficult. I have only been studying Japanese for about four months now(I'm not an expert at all) and when I compare it to my native language(which is English), I am in awe of anyone that can master it as a second language.
@@ChrisannaDaye To me, I tried learning Japanese for 6 years, school and then some...yeah I am particularly bad at languages....but anyway, my rambling point is for me the difficulty of learning Japanese is Hiragana and Katagana. A beautiful couple, but Satoshi makes my heart swoon! I fell in love with him from their interview on the Asian Boss channel. He seemed so sincere and earnest and genuinely in love with his man! 😻 And here, he's captured my attention! His 'shy' body language is soooooooooo cute! I just want to give him a hug! I'm ready to simp Satoshi-kun!
I love you guys, you're so cute. I know how it feels to not be able to be PDA or very public about your relationship, in Japan and since my SO and I live in Russia right now. I'm sure times will change though but it's most important that you guys are just together and have each other. You're a really warm and wonderful couple! Anyway, I love your videos! Please visit LA soon. I would be happy to take you guys out anywhere you want.
Erin Schwarz What's weird is, despite knowing each other for 16+ years. They don't really know each other's likes, dislikes, or even really basic interests are. Like for example they didn't know about their past experiences (like he studied law school/the other hated school). After 16+ years wouldn't you know general things like that? (0_o) I know basic info like that of my friends- so them being partners, and not knowing general aspects about each other's life experiences/personality habits...it kind of shows how very little Japanese people share about themselves. I'm Asian myself, so I get the whole saving face/secrets to yourself thing, but damn. That's a LONG time to not know basic info about your partner. It's just so strange how little they knew before the q&a after that long. :0
I loved getting to know you two more from this video and I still treasure the times I met you two in person! Sending ❤️ from SF (and make sure to come up when you visit LA, ok? 😉). さとしさん良かったよ〜!
I realized that youtube is your main jobs, so I really really really hope that this channel grows. I know it's hard work, but I am certain you'll succeed!
I'm not trying to get into your personal life at all but are you guys a couple because you guys are so great together and compliment each other very well.
It's amazing I was 95% sure you guys are a couple the first video I watched featuring both of you. You guys compliment each other so well and I can literally see affection and respect in the air around you guys! :3
I just started watching you guys & I knew your "tea" as soon as I watched one of your vids. You're a adorable couple & I enjoy watching your vids. Keep up the good work!!

Watching and listening to them talk for 23 minutes didn't make me tired at all, they r just so sweet together. Also the way satoshi nods his head while speaking Japanese is so cute..
Satoshi's English here is just fine! And he's gotten so much better thanks to all the vids you guys do, so happy to find this channel through youtube rec and watching Strictly Dumpling :)
It was so kind of you both to answer questions, especially when it was uncomfortable for Satoshi! Thank you for answering my question, too. Right now, it appears the English subtitles might be automatic, something like Google translate, and the software is not translating accurately. Will there be more subtitles later? I'd love to read Satoshi's responses. I'm trying to work on learning Japanese, but I am still only a beginner. Thanks so much for your video! :-)

Thought I'd leave some translations for Satoshi's part! Hope this helps until they get up translations. Feel free to leave any corrections and/or additions~ This is his answer to how he developed a passion for food (I wasn't quite sure about the last sentence however. ^^;;): This will be long, so I'll speak in Japanese. Once I started college and began living on my own, I realized I had to eat. I had never cooked before then but I realized I needed to nourish myself. I also didn't have any money so I had no choice but to cook for myself. This was where everything started. But when I started, I found it was all very interesting. I found myself going "so this is how you make this" as I studied a lot of recipes. I also learned from someone (some sort of master... lol I couldn't tell what the word before that was...). As I kept cooking, ... (I'm not quite sure what he said after this as well). For Satoshi's favorite food, he likes expensive sukiyaki. He especially loves the way the wagyu beef melts in his mouth. He says cheap sukiyaki doesn't taste good. lol His least favorite food is Yanagawa, like dojo nabe (Shinichi says he's never had it before). Satoshi had this a lot when he was young at home because his grandpa made it. Regarding Hawaii: Satoshi likes the wind in Hawaii. Shinichi says he likes the manapua. lol Favorite restaurants: Satoshi says he likes Kisoji, a Japanese chain restaurant. The lunch there is great for the price. He says if you happen to find it when visiting Japan, be sure to check it out for lunch. Shinichi says he likes Ootoya, also a Japanese chain. Where would you like to visit next: Satoshi says the South Pole because it's a place you can't go to so he wants to go. hehe Bucket list: Satoshi says he wants to visit all the places on his list of places he wants to visit around the world. Tokyo Disney Sea: I think he said he likes Restaurant Sakura and everything there is delicious. Favorite Rice: Satoshi says his favorite is Yamagata's Tsuyahime. Apparently, rice in Japan has different names depending on where it's made in Japan and the brand.
Satonshi did it great! Yeap ! Thank you for answering all thses questions. Hoping to have Part 2 with others more questions thst we all have. Thank you for all your effort and dedication! Take care!
Here are some questions for future Q&A: why your channel is called Tabi Eats? To someone who has not visited Japan before: where would you suggest visiting and why?
Le Genou de Claire As far as I know, the Japanese word 'Tabi' (旅) means 'travel'. And this channel is mostly about food from different places, so I think it fits very. This is just my guess, though 😉
Shinichi, I remember when you first showed up in my Google+ feed and I thought "What a handsome fella!" then I just started reading your articles and then you made a break through on youtube. I'm so happy for you guys. I really enjoy watching your videos.
I've only recently found your channel but I think you're both amazingly adorable! I can't wait for more videos! So much love and keep up the amazing work xo
Thanks for doing this, guys! I'd buy a Tabieats cookbook/travel book anyday! I wish you continued success with the channel and I feel like you deserve more views and subs.
So fun to hear all your answers! You're gonna have so much fun when you return to LA. You're right, Downtown LA is thriving, especially the Arts District. I think you'd enjoy Grand Central Market and Far East Plaza; they both house a lot of great restaurants. There's also Smorgasburg, which is a wonderful food fair that takes place every Sunday. Highland Park (an area near Downtown) is also packed with good places to eat.
I have just discovered your videos and how happy I am. Your videos are fun and have variety. I was born and grew up in Washington State. I spent 10 full years in Hawaii and loved every moment there. So far I've loved getting to know you guys and your show.
I have been binge watching your videos for the past week or so since I found it. Love the content and you guys are great =) Keep up the amazing work. Your videos are helping with my Japan withdrawals haha
I love listening to you both swinging back and forth from Japanese to English and back again.. the music and rhythm of Japanese, spoken by two such endearing men.. awesome. Satoshi is so sweet as he is explaining about learning to cook, i love his happy nature. x
Started watching your videos a couple of days ago as inspiration for a future trip to Tokyo me and my girlfriend are going on. We went there in 2014 and we loved it so we are going back in late March to see the Sakura blooming. Gotta say i love your videos, not only are they informative and very well produced/edited, but you bring a certain something to them, not sure how to describe it but we find them very cozy to watch. You seem like a very genuine and caring person, which most likely is why we love the videos so much. Keep up the great work! :D You've inspired both of us to actually learn the names of alot of dishes and we're focusing alot more on streetfood this time around, as last time we mainly went sightseeing and shopping. Lots of love from Sweden :)
Guys you are amazing! Keep up the good work! I love to visit countries, both for cultural experience, and food as well! I do find your experiences useful when I finally get to visit Japan and South-East Asia as well. I think this region is so underrated in other parts of the world, and I see that it has a lot to offer. I am ready to expand my horizon when the covid is over, and we are all finally free to be where we want to be, I would be grateful even for a couple of weeks' journey. I think if you started Japanese lessons online (a youtube channel), you would be very popular, I would sign up for it for sure. Even though you did not have classical high-scool/uni education, you are very well-spoken in English, and you can pass as academic easily! I would certainly benefit from the lessons since I will visit Japan some time in the future, and I love the way Japanese sounds :)
You both are wonderful people. Please keep up the great work because so many like myself cannot help but smile while learning how to cook,or drool over ramen,or be thankful to see parts and/or festivals we have never seen in our lives. Much love light and laughter to you both from this old Bigmomma in Oklahoma💜💜💜💜
Thank you for adding the English translations! I am so grateful to you both for answering my question. I love rice, and I usually eat rice three times a day. I eat Japanese rice, and in the past few years, came to realize there was really a difference between varieties. We are limited in what we can get here, but I found one I like. As you mention, I even eat it plain or cold. But I would love to try the Yamagata Tsuyahime rice! It sounds amazing. I bet they might have it in San Francisco. I will have to look for it the next time I am there. Thank you so much for the great video! Please say hi to Justin. :-)
I watch your videos constantly, they make me so happy! You are such lovely people. I have agoraphobia and am not able to get out much, but through watching your videos I can see lots of countries and cities and all the wonderful food from around the globe. Thanks for making my days a little brighter 💜💙 You truly are making a difference in people's lives. 😍 xxx
I am so sorry to hear about your agoraphobia. For the longest time, I suffered from extreme panic disorder and couldn't go out for years. I remember having to give up on so many things I always loved. Slowly but surely, I am getting better and some of the things I do on UA-cam is part of my self-therapy. haha. Thanks for taking the time to comment. It truly is my pleasure and joy to share my life with you.
Wow, Satoshi--you're the only other person whom I've ever heard saying that you love the wind in Hawaii! So do I! I lived on Oahu as a kid, and I'll never forget my first trip to the Pali or surfing on the North Shore in winter or the wonderful trade winds which were like a constant caress. Topping my bucket list is going home to Hawaii--I've never been back in all these years.
I love you guys & your videos. You guys are so polite and well-mannered. So enjoyable to watch. Thank you for all the great videos. It's my dream to go to Japan and it will come true at the end of the week. Been re-watching your videos on Tokyo. I hope to bump into you guys on the streets of Tokyo!
I've just been binge watching you guys' videos all day!! So many awesome new videos that I've missed, and this Q&A was definitely very fun to watch. I even showed my mum your vending machine and Asakusa street food video, which were super fun to watch. It was really nice to get to know more about you two. Funny thing is, when the question for Satoshi's favourite part of Tokyo came, the place that instantly came to my mind was Ginza haha. As someone who really enjoys rice, I'll really have to try to get my hands on Tsuyajime rice! Thanks for the recommendation! 😄
It is so interesting to look at this now four years later we can see how far Satoshi has come with his confidence and overcoming his shyness. Now he seems very comfortable in front of the camera, he speaks English very well and he seems to enjoy being in front of the camera and is very charming and engaging!
It's so refreshing to see someone with a similar perspective on life regarding food and travel! Love your guys' videos and Satoshi's answers are amazing! If you folks want to come back to northern California, my partner and I will be happy to host you both!
You guys are the best. Huge respect for you guys and I have watched almost all your videos. I hope (though i don't expect since i am just a regular follower) to see you guys in Tokyo at the end of March.
Questions !! Would you guys do Couple Challenge, something easy for Satoshi...Boyfriend Tag maybe. If Couple Challenge for Food Theme is also good, Make food that like Couple or Love stuff.
I love this video about yourselves, guys! Also, love the fact the Shinichi would want to go to Los Angeles. It's my favorite city in US, the tickets to go there is fairly cheap (around 300/400) that's why I have to visit at least once in a year. Food is amazing, from anywhere in the world, they have tons of japanese stuff to remind my heritage, all the glamour of Hollywood and the land of the movies. In fact, I'm in love with the whole state of California.

+Fronken89 thank you so much. We hope you come back soon!
You guys are awesome, keep it coming, have learned alot from both of u.
I hope you do more Q&A videos in the future. 😙
We sure will. Thanks so much for watching!
come Malaysia, as meeting tabieat fans is one of your bucket list
We'd love to! And seriously thinking about it for the street food.
Much love light and laughter to you both from this old Bigmomma in Oklahoma💜💜💜💜
aww you are kind and it's such a pleasure to have you as part of our UA-cam family. Thanks for taking the time to write!
It was a pleasure and thank YOU for asking! We left a link in the description box below the video for the rice. We found it online!
Oh wonderful! How kind of you to post the link! Thanks to you both.
I'm so happy I stumbled across this acct. You guys are so so likeable. Rooting for your success doing what you love!
I watch your videos constantly, they make me so happy! You are such lovely people.
I have agoraphobia and am not able to get out much, but through watching your videos I can see lots of countries and cities and all the wonderful food from around the globe. Thanks for making my days a little brighter 💜💙
You truly are making a difference in people's lives.
When you travel to LA area, visit Malibu, Ventura, and Santa Barbara! Great job, guys.
We sure will!
I just love everything about you two from your channel to how well you complement each other.
Hi guys! Thank you so much for the Q & A. Although Satoshi is shy, you both did a wonderful job. Keep up the great videos!
I want to see a video of you both in Australia!
Really enjoy watching your channel. Your videos are fun and entertaining. Good luck with everything!
Hey thanks so much. We really appreciate it.
+Noxmoony thank you so much for watching! We're so happy that you are enjoying them!
I'm so happy you guys had a Q&A... hope you have another one. Where and when did you get Justin?
We got Justin about 7 years ago at our local pet store. Thanks so much for watching!
+Sakura Spring Thank you for watching my friend. :) How are you btw?

"since i had to eat, i had no choice but to cook." -- satoshi

Yeah :'(
I am a new subscriber and i just want to say, you make me smile and are just about the best channel on You Tube. Thank you and don't ever stop.
Just love you guys! I was in Tokyo two weeks ago,I love Japan! I will be going back next year!
Both handsome, both deserved & made for each other. Definition of perfect couple.
Probably my favorite channel right now
