When is it advisable to replace the water filter?
● approximately every six months
● when the filter lamp lights up
● when the pressure of the water leaving the distributor decreases
● when the cubes are smaller than normal
Some important indications for the installation and replacement of the refrigerator filter cartridge:
● Always remember to turn off the cold water supply.
● When you disconnect the piping from the ends of the old filter, it is likely that some water will leak out of the filter and hoses.
● Remember that the direction of the water flow is indicated on the end of the filter with an arrow.
● Once installation is complete, run the water from the dispenser for 5 minutes to purify the system.
● Check for leaks.
● Finally, reset the “replace filter” light if the refrigerator has one (usually by holding down the Light / Filter button for 3 seconds).
This is the procedure for models with an external water filter, located on the back of the refrigerator:
1. This type of filter has protections on both ends to prevent water leaks. First, remove the red tab.
2. Then, press the blue ring inward as you pull out the white tube. Repeat the procedure on the other end of the filter.
3. Take the new filter and check the direction of the water flow, you will see an indicator arrow on the filter. Insert the water hose firmly.
4. Secure the red tab between the blue ring and the filter body. Repeat the procedure on the other end of the filter.
Let's see how to replace the water filter for models with internal filter:
This type of filter is present on older models.
1) Remove the old water filter. Lower or remove the top left shelf to allow the water filter to rotate down.
Press on the sides to allow the water filter to rotate downwards. Press on the sides to open the water filter cover.
2) Pull the water filter down and rotate counterclockwise to remove it. Make sure you rotate the filter down completely before taking it out.
3) Insert the new water filter. Take the filter out of the packaging and remove the protective cover.
With the water filter tabs in a horizontal position, push the filter into the hole in the manifold until it stops.
4) Rotate the filter upwards until it is correctly positioned and close the lid. When closed properly, the lid will click.
After replacing the water filter, it dispenses at least 9.5 liters of water (run for about 5 minutes) to remove trapped air and any contaminants. Do not dispense continuously (alternating cycles of 30 seconds ON and 60 seconds OFF).
