i didnt pay attention when they were talking about kyle petty but in my opinion he should never have been in this race. he himself admited he didnt know how to drive a race car and had crashed a lot of cars and he certanly wasnt a champion then or now so how was he in the race of champions. he barely had a better record than danica patrick and yet when she was driving all kyle ever did for the most part was downgrade her. i think she accomplished more as a woman driver of the sport than kyle did in all his years as anything he did in the sport. kyle was a never was has been washed up driver before he ever started and thats all he will ever be. im sure that is why his farher never really had him drive for petty enterprises and richard was probably embarressed to call kyle his son because of how poor of a driver kyle was. anyways i never liked richard or kyle as drivers but had some respect for what richard had accomplished but lost that respect after i heard the way he talked about danica patrick as well. he could have said something positive about her to give her some hope of having success and maybe he did at first but then he said some things that as an embassadore of the sport should never had said. anyways thats my thoughts on that
What exactly has Danica accomplished in her 2 decades of racing? 1 fuel mileage win and a couple poles. Kyle admits to being an awful driver and still won 8 cup races and was a threat for the championship multiple season. Unlike Danica, Kyle isn't making thousands of excuses for why his career sucked.
@@NascarNixon To be fair, Danica was a top 5 Indy car driver for about 5 or so seasons, more than can be said about most drivers that make it to top open wheel racing. However the stock car venture was only due to money. But Kyle Petty at the time of this race, was a championship contender and won races on a semi regular basis.
I find it funny ur trying to compare the two. Danica was driving in nascar cause she sucked in indycars. Thinking she was gonna drive a dumb ole stock car and win. 🤣🤣🤣 after she found out she wasn’t good at any racing. She became a bomb on track. At least Kyle didn’t go to races to crash anyone that got in to him aLittle. She ran middle pack most times and never won. Lead maybe 5 laps in 7 years. She was bad and still thought she was good. It’s funny she thought a top team would spare her a car for Daytona last year. She said she would run Daytona and retire. It almost didn’t happen. Well she talked her way in a premium motorsports car. That’s the car she should of had from the start. Look at the 10 now. Almost won a championship. That shows how bad she was. Kyle petty got his ride because of his dad. So what. He did something with it. More then she did. I respect KP for being honest. Ied pull for him before DP any day. Also she was a bitch to the fans. Saying it’s not her job to give autographs. When actually it is. It’s ppl like you that probably bought up her hype and souvenirs that paid her and kept her in nascar. Longer then she should of been
Kevin your just a biased Kyle hater. Certainly he was not a champion, but Mark Martin was not a champion either aside from ASA. Same as Davey Allison or others who were in IROC. But to say Kyle was useless or never was been is a flat lie and ignorance of facts. Kyle dominated Rockingham for awhile, won Watkins Glen I believe, Pocono, and Dover. His equipment went to shit after 1993.
That is great racing. That's the way every race should go. This race took place a long while ago, but darn, I was on the edge of my seat every lap.
