He was nearly scoring a goal a game vs adults since he was 16 up to his first serious injury. And then he busted his knees ligaments AGAIN. And then he came back in time to be the best player and scorer of the World Cup, win the Ballon D'Or and sign for Real Madrid's Galacticos. Any other player would have be rendered irrelevant after his 1st injury and would have quit the game after the 2nd. R9 was so good that without knees and overweight due to thyroid issues he was still the best on earth.

The REAL Ronaldo, Ronaldo the Phenomenon, R9, was the greatest striker of all time, and one of the greatest players of all time, his dribbling/control was sheer god-hood, insanely fast in a pure dead sprint, impossible acceleration and deceleration, able to go from 0 to 200 and from 200 to 0 instantly, as well as changing directions, cutting to the side on a dime, and such strength too, along with absolutely deadly accuracy, he could put the ball into the net from almost anywhere, and could take the ball down the entire field, blowing by every opposing player, and including the goalie, walking the ball into the goal, every time Ronaldo got the ball, it was a goal, even with 3-5 players guarding him at the same time, all of the time. The only way to stop him, was to take him out, take out his knees, resulting in his severely crushing huge injury filled professional career. Ronaldo was one of the most feared players of all time, you couldn't stop him, and he would score, and this was during the time, of some of the best defenders in soccer history too
Ronaldo really was the Michael Jordan of soccer, though while Michael Jordan juked everyone, rarely did he cause them to fall onto their a$$e$, Ronaldo caused them to fall on their a$Ses almost every single time, along with nutmegging (going between their legs with the ball) them, not once but often multiple times
Ronaldo's not the most flashy with his skills and dribbling/control, but they were the most precise, heading straight to the goal, with laser focus, that can really only be appreciated from playing the game yourself, to understand just how completely terrified everyone was in trying to defend against him, an impossible task

The GREATEST ever. Above anyone! Top Speed. Top Control, laser beam aim, from near the goal or far away. Doesn’t matter if was 1,2,3,4,5, or more defenders…he would dribble all of it…
On open spaces or narrow lines…with angle or not…it really doesn’t mattered.
He would find an impossible way, a daredevil move to break the defense…and have a chance to score or assist.
Impeccable ball control, awareness and physical strength…all in one.
Pelé and Maradona can’t touch. He had all of the skill set is required to be a legend.
Unfortunately his body couldn’t keep it up with such a high demand of power and speed and reverse angles,,,plus the horrible tackles…
I believe if he didn’t moved to Italy…he would probably last at least one more decade.
To me he will be FOREVER the greatest, the undisputed GOAT… followed close by Ronaldinho & Zidane.
It is truly sad that he always have to beat all opposing odds, from inside the field and outside.
That USA World Cup he deserved to play at least 15 mins..

He was actually 21, not 20, when he won his first Ballon d'Or. Raymar, who made the video, made a mistake there. And he was first injured in a match against Lecce, not Lazio, in november '99. Against Lazio he suffered his second injury, in april 2000.
I hear that word a lot, longevity. I'm sorry but how long you play does not make u the best. R9 and R10 may not have had the longevity of Messi and CR7, but, their peak is head and shoulders above anyone else. At their prime, no one came close to them. Messi played with R10, an he wasn't the best in the team. Had to wait for R10 to leave to take over. You can say he was only 19, o well, R9 was 19 and best player in Barcelona, LA Liga and best in the world. R9 was the most prolific player, I don't care what your stats say about longevity. Messi and Cr7 cannot touch him.
CR7 cannot touch him, with Messi they were equals in their Prime. Ronaldinho told Kobe that a 17 year old Messi was going to be the best ever.
I think he was way better than Messi or R7 will ever be, and by a lot.
