Despite all these facts that lots of people are well aware of you actually have to look at the bigger picture and realize that these places are in better business than ever, for decades
I stopped eating McDonald's chicken nuggets I got a 10 piece a couple months ago and one of the nuggets I guess wasn't "cooked" or "freeze-dried" enough, so while I was eating one I picked it up and the insides looked like and a mayo consistency spilling out of it 🤢🤢 never again
The fry oil was probably too hot, meaning it browned too fast while not cooking the batter on the inside, because even when undercooked the nuggets are solid
After biting down hard on what looked to be a tooth in my A&W chicken strip breading, I only eat fast food when I have literally no time or place to cook anything (and even then I’ll usually hit up a grocery store for a salad instead)
It’s only really American Fast food joints in Europe that really taste good because from what I know they actually give a damn about food quality. But then again I could be wrong. I did just come back from a trip to the UK and Denmark and while I was away, I tried a McDonald’s and Five guys while there. Fucking blew me out of the water at how good the stuff was. But again correct me if there is some similarities in Bullshit with the Fast food overseas than just the USA.
Obviously I'm not an expert, I just live here, so there could be stuff I don't know about, but the food regulations in Scandinavia are completely different from the US. As far as I know, the freeze drying Dan talks about isn't done here. Food might be frozen for transport, but not freeze dried. There are strict regulations on ingredients (especially meat) you're allowed to serve, and animal welfare is (very generally) better. Overall, the laws surrounding food just make it way harder for you to cut corners the same way you can in the US. KFC, for example, can't operate in Norway because the laws regarding animal welfare for chickens, and following those laws isn't cheap enough for KFC to bother.
@@johnlanigan3176 Yeah it is! I've been on a strict chicken and rice diet lately and I am craving everything. I want a big mac, a little caesar's pepperoni pizza, pretty much anything terrible. Oh star crunch, you know those cookies covered in caramel and rice? I was picking an order yesterday at work that had one in it and I was like omg..I want so bad. I always want mtn dew lol.
I don't really believe the smell is taste thing. I've eaten food that smells amazing but taste gross. Food the smells gross but taste amazing. I've had food with a stuffy nose meaning can't smell that food tastes the same without the stuff nose. Some people just taste differently
The reason people with covid couldn't taste anything was due the their sense of smell being nullified. Turns out covid doesn't attack the taste buds, it's an upper respiratory infection (aka the nose and sinuses). Taste is mostly smell, as it turns out. Look into it, but hopefully just my saying covid will jostle something in your brain.
the way dan explained it was a GROSS oversimplification, its many different factors, though smell is the main component, followed by taste, then feeling, then temperature, then looks (and of course, prior experience/memory) even if you are missing one factor, the others usually are able to pick up that slack. once again a GROSS oversimplifcation but i do not give enough of a fuck to put major research into it. i was also probably talking out of my ass at some point but you get the picture lmao
The only fast food i eat its chick-fil-a and is literally like once every 8 months (btw i know the owner of the chain i go to and they are a gay couple for those that care) and after that the last time i had wendys was 9 years ago and then the last time i had a McDonald's burger was like... 12+ years ago (i know bc they all happened bc of specific occasions, i had gone back to visit family in my country and they got me wendys, and the McDonald's was when we move here to the u.s bc it was the only place open at 3 a.m)
I never understood why people get fast food when you could just make your own burger? It cost literally nothing and a child could make one. Probably healthier too because you made it yourself. If you can mash playdo with your hands you can make a smash burger. If you can't make a burger, which as Arin says is a sandwich, I question your intelligence. Admittedly the fries are the annoying part but if your not picky, potato chips def work.
OK. Have you ever slaughtered a cow. Cleaned it. Cut up 1000 lbs of meat. Sorted it. Stored it. Ground what you are gonna use for that burger. Barring all of that. When you are at work and have only a 30 minute lunch, are you gonna then thaw meat or if it's thawed because for some reason you just happened to have patties ready to go, are you then going to prep the stove or grill and season the meat get the veggies and chop them , cook the patty and assemble the burger and eat it before having to return to work? No you're gonna grab fast food
A lot of times I would experience some paralysis of exhaustion after work, so it was either fast food or I’d just go to bed without eating or so on. Though that said, fast food tastes a lot better than my cooking, so why would I waste an hour some days... Not a daily thing for me, but a nice treat and sometimes a helpful convenience
I don't eat fast food as much as I used to, but I still do. Even though it's literal garbage, sometimes you just want some comfort food
I was literally trying to find this clip for a discussion at work. Perfect timing.
When Arin said "Cow Milkshake", I thought Homer Simpson was saying it.
Me watching this while eating a fat burger and a Grimace Shake
I feel this. Even disregarding getting healthy. I don’t like fast food anymore

That just happens when they are slightly out of the oil, that's the batter, still edible but kinda gross, I work at McDonald's if you were wondering.

Holy shit that would turn me off of fast food forever

I only get fast food as a once or twice yearly treat. Wendy's fries are just too good not to have at least occasionally.
Yearly??? Thats totaly bs haha
@@Uso_Wakka Hard to believe, but it's true. I've been trying to take better care of my body.
@hannahbrennan2131 if its actually yearly then damn i respect it hahah
@@Uso_Wakka Thank you.
@@Uso_Wakkasuch a wild comment from a European's perspective lol
A lot of these details don't really bother me, but I had my gallbladder taken out in June, and now I can't handle most fast food anymore.
All corperations start as small buisness. For everyone that falls another will rise to take its place.
I hope that last line doesn’t age poorly
A lot of the flavor of food comes from spices and seasonings. Pumpkin spice doesn't have Pumpkin.
Not me watching this as a McDonalds employee 💀

I live in Croatia, been in Denmark, Germany, Slovenia, Italy, all the mcdonalds tasted the same so I guess US has some really shitty ones?
None of anything Dan said bothers me, I just don't eat fast food. It's some of the worst stuff you can put into your body health wise.
Yeah, just processed food in general for me
Dat shit is so good tho

But _taste_ though
I'm guessing GG inc. will be established around the same time as Liquid Grumps
Butttt.... have you ever had sonic? 😋
Dry cafeteria food for 15 dollars!!!
I'd rather not taste perfumes too!
My body just goes through torture after fast food that is just not worth the momentary enjoyment.

Yeah, but, Wendy's.
I hate junk foods period, I don’t like my food with fat and oil, just cooked healthy
