@ its not technically a sheath, they just merge in bankai. the whole point of the blade is me, is that they are both his zampakutou spirit. wich was something that was ultimately hinted at when omz and white literally fused together on the dangai training. ichigos natures arent separated th whole point is that they are one and the same, thats how he even recovered them back after ywach fight in the first place.
If we have to took a form of Zangetsu who is closest to be the Real incarnation of Ichigos Zanpakuto we would took White Tensa, the fusion of the two !

these were not created by kubo, at least most of them. only one technically made by him (not counting with the obvious ones like tensa or yachiru) are azashiro. katen kyokotsu kubo liked it so much that he brough over the design from the filler arc and made it canon, and im preety sure kazeshini has been made canon too since i believe the way its presented in CFYOW is also the same. the rest is unclear. surely theres some that kubo is bound to like a lot too and might make them canon, like hisagomaru, but for example zabimaru we know it 100% does not look like that. also its not really no effort, its kinda representative of the silly nature of the zampkautou itself.
Didn't Zangetsu just "disappear" in the end the episode 13 and Ichigo's Quincy part just merged with his Hollow part? New Zangetsu also isn't a dual Zanpakuto. As Kubo stated in the "Club outside",the bigger one sword is the sword and the little one is the scabbard, but Ichigo just uses this scabbard like a normal sword.

We know Old Man Zangetsu is still around because Ichigo asked if he could keep calling him Zangetsu even though Ichigo now knows he was only pretending to be Zangetsu. Kubo also explained that Ichigo's Zanpakuto is the only one aside from Oetsu's Sayafushi that doesn't have a scabbard. Old Man Zangetsu fills the role of a scabbard, but he is technically a Zanpakuto. Which is why he is in blade form and not, you know, a wooden scabbard.

@@sofianemarseille134 they're both Ichigo's Zanpakuto spirits technically speaking. White simply embodies Ichigo's Soul Reaper and Hollow powers while Old Man Zangetsu embodies Ichigo's Quincy powers. That's why Ichigo's got duel Zanpakuto.
