Been taking ambien for over 10 years every night. Don’t have any problems. Really helps me fall asleep
It is jus 5 percent of the people that suffer from side effects
Ambien caused me a depressive epizode. I struggled a lot to get out of it. It also causes a loss of memory if you abuse it and use during the day time like i did.
Well HELL! They have to stop giving you THAT! (heavy sarcasm)

Possible side affects: getting the munchies and sleeping really good. That's my personal experience.

I also get the munchies, but not immediately. I'll fall asleep for a few hours, then I'll wake up & crave something!! In order to go back to sleep I have to eat something! This happens at least 6 nights a week, sometimes EVERY night!
I will not binge eat though, I'll just eat 1 or 2 snacks (which I'm FULLY AWAKE & AWARE of) & then I'll go back to sleep. If anyone can relate to me, please lmk so that I know it's not just me! TY!
Also, I have recently been thinking about switching my ambien to Lunesta. Does anyone have any opinions or firsthand experience with that as well!?
I’m prescribed Ambien and it’s not a guaranteed horror story. It’s actually pretty rare for something really bad to happen. Yes it’s possible and yes it could be bad but it’s not like that all the time. As long as you don’t abuse it or combine things with it, you should be okay.

@@sl4983 Well I am prescribed 5mg of Zolpidem per night because I am also prescribed 24mg of Suboxone which is an opioid and my doctor didn’t want to prescribe too high of a Zolpidem dose due to me being on a high dose of Suboxone. How much are you prescribed?
@@hzmicide1738 well it was 15 mg per night, which is the ideal dose for me, for like 10+ years. Not taken all at once, but before bed and upon awakening in the night if needed.

I hurt my knee about a month ago and with my 10mg of zolpidem I am able to get some sleep. I have never had a bad experience with it. I was using tryptophan prior to my injury and it was working fairly well for me.
This side effect has been published years ago.

I have taken 3 to 4 Ambien, and...unknowingly, cooked really good meals, and, cleaned-up the kitchen afterwards (I'm naturally neat anyway), but remembered none of it until I noticed items out of place the next morning - and a new package of bacon opened, a couple of eggs gone, etc. And, I also once thought I could drive 2 miles from home to a 7/11 & get back before the sleep kicked-in, but, fell asleep at a red-light. Be careful, folks.
Do you think 3-4 might be too many? If you are trying to get high , drink alcohol with them.

I woke up to McDonalds trash all over my living room floor and
the receipt said I went through the drive - thru at 2:35 A.M. I remember absolutely none of it but
apparently I ordered nothing but cinnamon rolls, chocolate chip cookies, ice cream and a chocolate malt.
I right away checked my truck to see if there was any blood on my bumpers from maybe hitting a pedestrian
and It was all good. This is when I decided to stop taking ambien.

@@sl4983 That guy is probably one of those people that think something bad is going to happen every time you take it but it’s not like that. I am prescribed it and have been on it for years and I can say from experience that it’s very rare for something bad to happen. As long as you don’t abuse it or combine it with things you’re going to be just fine.

I took Ambien in high school because my friend told me if you didn't sleep it would make you trip, I had an awful experience, apparently I hooked up with a guy and have no memory of it. I was walking and talking, but it was all like a dream and I only remember bits and pieces. So so weird.

If I were to ever take it with so much as one beer/glass of wine, I'd have blackouts in which is act very weirdly and so some weird stuff. Now I'm not saying you had a drink, but if they're combined-weird stuff can happen. I don't get this with zopiclone.

@@PPPPresto I definitely did not have a drink, I just did not go to sleep. I remember feeling so tired and suddenly everything else was like a dream. My friend's mom had a similar experience that if he woke her up from her sleep she would hallucinate and act very aggressive. I feel like ambient is a lot more dangerous than they let on.

I’ve been on Ambien for almost 15 years. I used to take the brand name and one time I woke up in my car about 30 miles away from my home, parked at a gas station, with no memory of ever driving. My doctor switched me to Zolpidem and I’ve never had a problem again.
Never has that happened to me.10 mg a night for years.

I experienced a traumatic event. A week or so later I started taking Ambien. Just one at first, then more and more throughout the night starting in the early evening. I barely remember the two weeks. My memories are from texts. Even drove 40 minutes and told a guy his fiance was cheating on him with me. Is this Ambien or did I just have a psychotic break for a couple of weeks?
Well it makes alot of people more sociable I make promises on it alot so have to be careful what you do after you have it gotta just put phone to side pop two and stay in bed at least 6 hour
It sounds like you had a psychotic break induced by the traumatic event, but it was made worse by Ambien abuse.
I am the same way as you. I will take one before bed, wake up and not realize I took 2 or 3 more. I've been known to drive while taking them as well. I've falling down my 6 steps and not realize it til the next day and just all sorts of stuff. I did get a rx for Ambien Cr 12.5 mg and it was for 30 days. Before I knew it, I had taken them all within 14 days. I now have my daughter to keep them for me and make sure I only take 1 at night. I started taking them after a horrible incident as well. I hope you're ok.

Ambien..Never again. Driving with no memory of doing so. Waking up bed covered in snacks, scratch tickets and empty cig boxes. Going to get gas or stopping at 7 eleven and people telling me I had them cracking up lol at 3am. Me having NO recollection of any of this. I had a friend that would online shop when she took it. She'd wake up the next day scrambling to cancel online orders. Ambien is just plain evil

I walk around outside remember sitting down to pull sand spurs out my feet wake up in bed with sand spurs still in my socks and feet.
I had these incidents from when it was introduced in the 1990s. Most people I knew taking it had too.
The manufacturers claimed it is a rare side effect. They knew how dangerous it was all along, but it's also one of the most profitable drugs in the world. Except now they're facing countless litigation cases, so it will soon be discontinued. They've announced they have a replacement ready to go. If you're one of the millions of worried patients with a prescription and a legitimate supply, they're doing you a favour. It's only luck that's prevented me being behind bars now. Many people experience this and will never even know. You might appear to be awake, but you're fast asleep. The behaviour is highly uncharacteristic and often violent.
I've tried just about every drug and this scares me the most. To know you killed somebody you love brutally as has occurred..death would be preferable to living with that.
What about it's potential for acute liver failure? Hepatic encephalopathy?
Taken it for years with no issues. Same for my other family members/ friends. Guess it depends
I'm someone who's been suffering from sleep disorder all my life I've tried the relaxing therapy I've tried light therapy nothing works I can get up at 6 in the morning go to work come home and by 10 o clock my heart is pounding out of my chest my mind is racing I can go close to 48 hours before I Collapse I tried sleeping pills I tried melatonin and sometimes even the ambient does not work
buy an Acousticom 2 meter so you can check to see if you are living in a high electromagnetic field environment
Xanax works for me, but they will leave you groggy. Seriquil is also very good. You'll need to get a prescription from your doctor

Basically don’t ever get put on this medication. It is the worst thing ever. I’ve had to watch my mother go through after 10 years of being given Ambien to sleep. she can’t get off of it and is going through terrible mood, swings, memory, loss, restlessness, all of the symptoms of dementia and vision problems.
I love taking a Xanax when I get in bed. Finally around 11 I’ll take an ambien. Heaven on earth.
I wonder how many people are in jail for doing something on these meds. They have no memory of. People have driven their cars on these meds., can just imagine what else.

I have never taken ambien and I don’t plan to but that sounds very scary if some people take it and do things they don’t remember doing. They could possibly walk down the street and not know they did it. Just also imagine someone putting something in the microwave or stove and turning it on. I think only a few examples are good and that is it
I also lost a lot of my memory. Some of that is coming back.
If you want a higher rate of cancer and death just from taking more than a weeks worth…this is the pill for you.
If you want early dementia…take it.

Rare thing happened when I took 10mg + 10mg ( in the middle of the night) of Stlinox, I woke up and prepared to pee and I didn't know that. My wife talked to me and informed me to go back to sleep. I was dream walking.

I just found out ambien make muscle lock relaxed, people move and speak for the first time in years.

I do wake up and cook/eat or make weird smoothies. BUT, if this happens to you, you just need to switch for Ambien CR. I’ll still snack at times, but, definitely semi-aware. Ambien is a miracle drug. Literally fixes issues on folks w brain injuries. I’ve been an insomniac since early childhood. So, I nearly went without sleep from about 17 yrs to 40. So, went from a totally healthy lifestyle to 6 immune disorders. What came first? Maybe the chicken or maybe the egg. Lol! But, sleep is an awesome thing most take for granted. I do NOT! 😂

Chemotherapy is PURE POISON. Ever here any Doctors warn patients about taking poisonous Chemo???? And it does not even work. Can shrink tumors. But only temporarily. Then secondary Tumors develop more aggressive and resistant to all Chemo. Chemo is nothing but a big Money Skam by the Medical Industry. Far more dangerous than a Doctor prescribing Ambien.
My friend had sex in her sleep, according to her boyfriend. She thought she was asleep. This was over 10 years ago.

Ive been having sleeping issues. Took Ambien 5mg and it did nothing. Im worried about that
I'm obviously not a doctor but I would speak to your prescriber about this. Especially if you're new to the medication. They might want to see if you'd have any adverse reactions to it. My doctor also said she started me at a lower dose (different medication for a different problem) because it's not good practice to put you on multiple different medicines when first starting. She upped the dosage after the appointment. I'm definitely a big believer in addressing any concerns with the doctor, especially with medicine.
Over 10 years ago my coworker was on Ambien. She came into work & told us that when she woke up that morning, she was behind the wheel of her car with the key in the ignition. She could've died from carbon monoxide poisoning if she had turned the car on with the garage door closed. She stopped taking that medication immediately!!! 😳

This side affect is called blacking out, so happy I don't blackout on Ambien. I loveeee Ambien it feels like benzos n opioids in one pill
I loveee it too! It's so relaxing and enables good sleep.
I am prescribed it and love it too. It has a short half life and doesn’t last very long but it is a great medication and helps a lot.

I drove to a hospital and ate a bag of potato chips. This is so addictive. I went off cold turkey. It was hell, but I’m doing so good. This drug should be taken off the market. Big bucks for the company.
I packed on 50lbs in a year on this. An hour after taking it, I would get really hungry.
No one should take a drug if you could die, or have a seizure if you stop taking it.

If somebody would take five bottles of unisom which are 50 mg each and 60 pills in each bottle, and you take these five bottles with two full bottles of NyQuil, could this be fatal?
I took ambien years ago, until it stopped working for me, ans I didn't take it every night, just when i really needed it, we can get immune to anything, wven when used sparingly.
I just had a two bad side effects with a new generic Ambien. My Dr prescribed. Was taking it for 5 year. No problem,... in a new location they gave me generic ambien and my head started pounding. I ending up throwing up. Never ever did that with ambien until a different generic was given. I couldn't even lay down , as it was ax sharp headaches. I will Never take the stuff again.

😎😎😎 I had to leave my Catholic Religious Order that took me so long to get into because of sleepwalking. Nothing bad, just getting up I. The middle of the night to cook, eat, do art work and move some statues around. I HAD NO RECOLLECTION.
Why oh why is this garbage still on the market ?? With all the recent ( last 10 yrs or so ) we've seen a marked increase in Wrong Way Drivers, my theory is they have been taking this drug. Yet I haven't heard anything regarding any study whether they are or not. Why !????
Amazing drug, stated using it to sleep after many years over seas..... never had an issue.... don’t abuse drugs used as prescribed and you should be okay.....
