Sometimes I get overwhelmed by the amount of games I have and then end up not playing anything. But for the most part, I like having a toy store/ video game museum in my house. I was going to order an expensive blu ray box set of Evangelion, because it has the original ADV English voice actors instead of the new Netflix dub. The box art looked familiar, so I went down to my basement where I have most of my physical media stored (I mostly just use vudu and so forth, now. But I new I’d regret it if I sold off my physical library) and it turns out I bought that box set years ago and forgot. It’s nice to be able to go shopping in your house. My nephew somehow discovered Batman the animated series a couple years ago. I’m not sure where he would have seen it, but regardless, I was like “hey, you like batman the animated series? Check this out.” And I brought up several boxes of unopened DC Direct, animation accurate Batman TAS figures and an extra blu ray box set of the series and mask of the phantasm. The fact that rgt made this video about his sold collection 2 months later when everyone has stopped talking about it is proof he regrets selling his collection.
Interesting take... or it might be he keeps getting asked about it, or wanted to make a point that people were wrong after they gave him so much grief. Granted, I think most people wouldn't expect regret to come until years later, possibly a decade or more. In any case, I actually really enjoyed this vid, surprisingly more than his normal vids. I guess it's a kind of feel good message when you get down to it. He's happy with his choice (so far), so I'm happy for him
I have regretted selling some of my games over the years and it doesn’t always hit you for a long time. Years even. Having said that, as I get older, my regret for getting rid of things gets less and less. As does the feeling of needing to actually have and play a lot of old games I used to love. The memories of them keeps me going.
It genuinely seems like you don't regret selling your collection, that's so cool, so mature, recognizing that you're just accumulating things that no longer make much sense for your life at this point. We can love games and still not need to accumulate so much that we no longer have space at home. I felt very happy to have sold my 3 handhelds last year and I'm satisfied with my few home consoles, with games stored on hard drives or everdrives, that's enough for me. Minimalism is freedom.
Honestly, from the moment when you decide to sell your stuff. I never doubt that you would regret it. I know the choices that you made are the choice you made. No regrets, you did it your way and at the end if you're happy with it. Then that's what matters, and thankfully, the effects haven't happened to you, and even if it did, you would just shrugged it off

A lot of people don't see it that way. They need a item they can hold. I love all digital as well, it's so much easier. No hoarding up all the space with games you don't even play anymore. Also, nothing last forever. Game consoles die at some point. Disc stop working at some point. The cloud will always have your back.
A lot of this "de-cluttering" "minimalistic movement" is posible thanks to technology (streaming, digital photos, emulation, etc.). Twenty years ago, you couldn't get rid of your VHS, DVD, or gaming collection without letting go those memories forever. So, I don't thing that RGT 85, could do this in the early 2000s. Technology has allowed him to get rid of everything. Without emulation, he will not do it.

I would have just kept the 32x games. I sold mine almost 2 decades ago and that is my only selling regret. The only reason is there are some fun games I played that are stuck to that console and they are expensive now.
You're gonna die and lose it anyways. Might as well use it for yourself, unless you have kids or something. I collect what I love and emulate what I like.

RGT is angry because he learned that if he went to 🇲🇽 for his medical treatment, his medical bill would’ve been 88% cheaper than in 🇺🇸 and selling his retro collection wouldn’t have been necessary. Oh well. 😂 😂 😂
I'm with you. I also got rid of my collection, gave most of everything away, in hopes someone could find the joy I found in them. Its been three years for me and I havent regretted it one bit. I found out having less was more. Also if i ever find myself wanting to re live a game from my childhood I turn to emulation. which yes its not for everyone, but has been a time saver for me.
Υοu expect to regret after 2 months man? My poor, innocent RGT. If it is to regret it, this will come up after 2-3 years. not sooner. So, NOT regreting it so soon after u sold it, means absolutely nothing.
Posting this video alone shows some regret is present already. What was a setup of varied games he could have played any time is replaced with mostly empty shelves. And the only reason it became feeling like a hoard to him is because of his own choices to no longer play them. Ironically, the more he emulates, the more he'll miss his games.
After seeing you sell your collection and hearing your reasoning, I decided to let a ton of my collection go as well. I’ve started my path into emulation and I have absolutely no regrets! Less stuff sitting on the shelf, more money in my pocket, and playing games looking better than ever!
Man it’s your prerogative! Why other adults care of your reasons whether it’s financial, mental or whatever your a grown a$$ man. If you regret it tomorrow or years from now it’s not like you can’t try again 🤷🏽♂️ more power to you and I hope it helped you whether it’s mentally, financially, physically it doesn’t matter! Respect for doing what makes you happy and not internet basement dwellers.
During and post lockdown, I sold a huge chunk of my gaming collection because I figured if I didn't play it during lockdown then I never would! Money was never the motive for me but it did help a lot when I moved recently.
Glad you are happy with your decision and sounds like you're in a better spot for it mentally and in life. I think when people said you would regret it, they thought you were selling the games you grew up with and had memories with, but it sounds like you kept all the games important to you. I know exactly what you mean. I sometimes buy games I know I won't play or have time to play, but I try hard to just buy the games I really care about and am certain on playing. I started to realize that it's just not worth the opportunity cost for other things. On the other hand just the hobby of collecting and game hunting is fun in and of itself. So it goes both ways.
I felt the same way that’s the reason I got rid of most of my games it’s very overwhelming because it’s hard to make a decision on what games to play when you have 30 video game systems and thousands of games to play
If you were happy with 5 bucks for everything, then you were not ripped off. People just see it and jealousy kicks in and they can't handle that your obsession switched gears. Good job.

There was a day when I was lucky to have a half dozen games, would happily toss my system in my school backpack for a weekend with the bros. Since, I've built up a collection I can't keep up with. I don't have time enough to play the hundreds of games I have for probably a dozen consoles.. yes, I would miss having certain titles and some original hardware, however, (as far as "completeness",) I'm CERTAIN I wouldn't miss the collection of sports games I purchased for my Saturn.. seriously, those golf games are painfully buggy and slow. On the other hand my arcade style games and RPGs are comforting places to be. My life is cluttered and when I make the decision (easy or not) that RGT made I'm convinced I would be able to breathe easier. Respect Bro. The spirit of game resides inside you. Cheers 🍻
I personally went from playing through every game I got for Christmas and beating them 99% by March working full time and having a back log of untouched games. Can't seem to balance the gaming, work, house upkeep, and TV. Inevitably I'll probably ease up on TV time to boost my gaming time. Causes mild anxiety not getting to enjoy more experiences. Or having games I'm revisiting starts to feel wasteful of my time, lol.

RGT is angry because he learned that if he went to 🇲🇽 for his medical treatment, his medical bill would’ve been 88% cheaper than in 🇺🇸 and selling his retro collection wouldn’t have been necessary. Oh well.
😂 😂 😂
Lol
I always regret selling pokemon games. So im buying them all back up and never selling them again lol
Smart choice, Pokemon and Nintendo stuff in general goes up in value fairly often and rarely bottoms out.
Clickbait my guys from our favourite Nintendo UA-camr
I'm with you. I also got rid of my collection, gave most of everything away, in hopes someone could find the joy I found in them. Its been three years for me and I havent regretted it one bit. I found out having less was more. Also if i ever find myself wanting to re live a game from my childhood I turn to emulation. which yes its not for everyone, but has been a time saver for me.
Why not keep the ones you cherish instead of giving it all away?
I know I could use 40 grand right now
I would just keep thinking about how much it would bring in like 20 years
Not a Nintendo UA-camr
I wanna sell my collection and i dont. I feel i might regret it down the line
I regretted it and now the asking prices are ridiculous!🤔
You will lol
Υοu expect to regret after 2 months man? My poor, innocent RGT. If it is to regret it, this will come up after 2-3 years. not sooner. So, NOT regreting it so soon after u sold it, means absolutely nothing.
Posting this video alone shows some regret is present already. What was a setup of varied games he could have played any time is replaced with mostly empty shelves. And the only reason it became feeling like a hoard to him is because of his own choices to no longer play them. Ironically, the more he emulates, the more he'll miss his games.
You saw $ and forgot the joys of collecting. Too bad 😂
Defense is the first sign of regret. Nice try Nintendo UA-camr!
I am the same way it about playing the game now about collection
So RGT little question for you. Did you get yourself into the mister project yet? It a great way of experiencing a lot of the older systems.
Hey shawn i just got a saturn from japan what should i get to start off
Be glad you have games and friends to play with.
I have neither...
King of Click Bait! I regret watching this.
You never showed any footage of you selling your stuff
Getting a lump some of money for a collection of any kind is easier and faster than posting each item online trying to get the full value.
After seeing you sell your collection and hearing your reasoning, I decided to let a ton of my collection go as well. I’ve started my path into emulation and I have absolutely no regrets! Less stuff sitting on the shelf, more money in my pocket, and playing games looking better than ever!
Piracy is the best policy!
I can’t sell my collection I would 😢
Man it’s your prerogative!
As long as ya happy could not and will not be me
Glad you are happy with your decision and sounds like you're in a better spot for it mentally and in life.

Oh, yeah. HE MISSES THE COLLECTION !!!
If you were happy with 5 bucks for everything, then you were not ripped off. People just see it and jealousy kicks in and they can't handle that your obsession switched gears. Good job.
Big regerts from the Nintendo youtuber himself
Selling stuff isnt about the money?
you are my favorite BAIT youtuber😅
I saw phoenix video of your collection. There were a few things I cant believe you sold . just a few though
No Regrets as a Gamer that’s all you Need.
Sad you can see the regret 😢in his eyes
The fact he posted this speaks to the regret. Well, people did warn him.
@@ReinMixTape He went through a traumatic event and made harsh decisions . He spent almost 20 years hunting down and buying his collection no matter how many times he says he don’t regret he does I sold my 3ds collection I regret for sure I still have a huge collection of games I’ll never part with no matter the money
You blew it Mr. Nintendo UA-camr.
Spoiler alert… he doesn’t regret it!!
Why we still talking about this?
I would never got rid of my nes games just because I had them since childhood
That childhood stuff is precious, esp. so when your folks pass on.
I need to clean up the water bottles next to my bed now 🤣
I’m at that age where clutter bothers me too. I can totally relate. Cleanliness and organization make me feel so much better.
Never had a collection from back in the day but I'm currently experiencing it via Evercade with its awesome curated collection at an affordable cart prices. Plus all the minis and I'm very happy with it. Cheers man.
Easy to recollect, digitally
Years ago you actually got me back into ...and here is a classic for ya ....Nightshade NES.. That took me back bro .....I play them on my new handhelds today lol ...looks amazing too great video man
I have sold a fair amount of games that I regret selling, and most of them, it wasn't until years later I hope you don't grow to regret moving all or parts of your collection but never say never.
Yea no you needed to sell your collection cause thats where you put most of your money .sad but hey i guess that was always your back up . But man the fact that you sold your collection to somone who instantly sold is sad. Now sure all our games were once somones collection but hopefully you actually kept the good stuff
Whatever happened to the car?
Has your check from donut came in yet for the promo?
I was only surprised you sold the Sega 32x games since you made a book about it.
Did same thing a few years ago. Love having the space and extra money. Still absolutely love the hobby just in it from a different approach that works best for me. Def stand behind this guys :)
Sold my huge SEGA collection and put the money on compound interest investiments. 37 years old me started feeling kind of pathetic for even having a collection. I don't miss It. I buy, I play, I sell and I move on to another game.
Moving all my games out of the bedroom has been awesome for mental health. I do wish I had a dedicated room for my games, so for now most is in storage to avoid that clutter!
Based emulation Chad. I sold off everything that can be played on my steam deck, bought a sick emountain bike and there's plenty of cash left over for some vacations.
I to an more of eumation guy my slef. I got an SNES Rom dumper since I sometimes I will pick up homebrews at thing's like Louisiana Comic Con then put the Carts, CD-Rs, DVD-Rs or BD-Rs away. The only falsh carts I realy have are The SD2SNES and The EverDrive GBA Mini; since an modded GBA and FC 16 Go sits in my tevel bag. I can see Pat The NES Puck doing his 2 cents on the options popole have about you doing this on the CUPodcast.

Lately I’ve been tweaking game collections on my Retropi and digital games on Switch and Xbox One. And barely play any games. But I’ve been selling my extra consoles and sold off my comics (now I have more on my Kindle than I had physical). We as men, (and women) love the pursuit of the hunt. But once we have that game, there it sits on the shelf of conquest…..and collects dust
