Yeah, i get that. I used to use it at a glance, which I didn't find too bad, but totally appreciate it isn't for everyone. I now have an upgraded screen with Apple CarPlay, so it acts as more of a holder for my phone, which it does excel at!
Build quality is right up there. Mine hasn't moved since installing it. I am looking at upgrading my stereo unit to one with Apple Car Play and this holder will pair perfectly with it.
When i got my car it already had this installed but for an iPhone with lighting cable option. Now that I have a Samsung S24 Ultra i need to change the phone holder. This video made it easy for me to order a replacement phone holder
Yeah there are other similar companies that offer such things.. the problems are 2: A) the product offerings aren’t available for your specific vehicle. B) when they are, they might not be engineered in a good location for easy reach and safe use. In this case, it wasn’t offered for my specific make and model year. The American equivalent (proclip) does offer a solution for my car, but it is too far from my hands and blocks the air vent. And sadly they don’t provide any other solutions.
I think this is a really considered comment, so thank you. I agree with pretty much all of this. This option is the closest to my liking but how it covers the hazard warning light button annoys me. If it was on the other side, that would be much more helpful, which apparently the Europeans got. I tried switching mine from the left-mounted position over to the right, but it just won't stretch. It's the old saying isn't it - Sometimes if you want something done, it's best to do it yourself! 😂 I'm half tempted to get a 3D printer and make one myself!
Looks very much like the ProClip USA mounts - they're pricey - about $40 USD for just the mount and another $30-40 for the phone specific device holder - and yes, they are indeed great mounts!
No, not at all. For my Aygo, the installation at 00:20 is literally it. It has some adhesive (blue strip) that you peel away and then just use pressure to push it into place. Super easy. No drilling required. You'll just need to assemble the actual holder, but the mount is quite easy to install.
That's great, I've got the same Aygo as yourself. I've just messaged them to see if they have a mount for my Motorola G9 plus as it's not showing on the list.
I think the universal mount should work for you. It's the one I'm using. If you search for "Brodit universal mount" on Amazon, it should stretch or shrink to fit your device.
It's the Liquid Air Case by Spigen. Had it on for a few years and it's been great. I prefer the slimmer ones like this just because they don't add any size or weight really to an already big phone, but you still get great protection. Not a mark on my iPhone.
Ah, that sucks! Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can find an alternative that does the job! Might be worth looking for a phone holder that clips on the the car vents, perhaps.
Nice video. So I went onto their website and I had to accept their terms and conditions before looking at the products. So I just closed the site and not interested anymore.
I thought that initially, but I soon got used to it. In reality, most of the journeys I make don't require the use of Google Maps, so it's ideally placed. Even when I am using Google Maps, I tend to glance and then try and remember the lane I need to be in by following the road signs rather than being completely reliant on Maps. I totally appreciate that it's not going to be for everyone, though. I do still find my self glancing for my window mounted option, but I'm happy with this one so far.
Thank you very much for promoting this. Just bought the set since it can't get more convenient than this
Nice! Hope it does the job for you!
Way too low down to see it when in traffic without fully taking eye off the road

@@jamieaygo thanks
sorry my comment seemed a bit rude it wasn't meant to be I love little tips like this
I've got the brand in my car. Brilliant holder

Move the hazard button to the right side
Ooooooh. I'm going to be googling that!
It will be very easy for you. Just remove the radio frame , and you will see that cover from right you move in the left..
Legend!
When i got my car it already had this installed but for an iPhone with lighting cable option. Now that I have a Samsung S24 Ultra i need to change the phone holder. This video made it easy for me to order a replacement phone holder
Brilliant! Glad to help.

You're absolutely right. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the different arms of the same company. Very similar indeed!
I have a MagSafe phone mount which is magnetic and super easy to attach and detach! Super cheap as well
Nice recommendation. Where did you end up getting it and what is it called?
Do I have to strip down the dash or drill holes to install?

No center vents?
No, not on the Aygo. At least not facing you. It's sits on top of the centre console.
Shame it isn’t sold in the USA
I believe it is, it's just known as Pro Clip.
What case do you have on your iPhone 14 Pro Max?
It's the Liquid Air Case by Spigen. Had it on for a few years and it's been great. I prefer the slimmer ones like this just because they don't add any size or weight really to an already big phone, but you still get great protection. Not a mark on my iPhone.
I have exactly the same phone holder and on the same spot, only my holder is on the right side of the infotainment screen! A very good choice!😃
I did think I could perhaps mount it there, but followed the guidance that came with the instructions. Still works fine and I'm very happy with it!
Sadly they dont have my car model ita too old

I GOT MY APPLE CAR PLAY FOR 100 POUNDS FROM A BREAKER YARD!!
That's a good price! I've just picked one up for 300, so bravo!
Why are you calling it Brodit?
That's the name of it in Europe/UK. I believe the American version is called ProClip.
@@jamieaygo ohhhhh ok! I didn’t realize they named themselves differently in other countries, no wonder I’m confused

Yes, that's standard for most websites. You can actually click the "deny" button so cookies don't track you.
Failing that, you could always pick one up through Amazon or perhaps get a second hand one from eBay.
Why so low. Taking your eyes off the road
I agree, it is low but used to glance. I now have a head unit I hook my phone up to that really elevates this phone holder.
Looks like Proclip
Yes, you are right. This is their British/European brand, I believe.
@@jamieaygo Brodit is Swedish company originally producing all this products for Proclip USA as well
Terrible music? Dude, I want your playlist
🤣 It's essentially old school dance (80's-90's), game OST's and UK grime.
