Tip put a sponge between your wires in the end between the fret and the big iron pease (its a little hard work BUT the sound is really cooler)

Big Up Chris very good tuts like always ! For me the major trick I've learned here is to think of the "Rest" but that's because I listen to a lot of reggae and I improvise the same way as you... but the others tricks are great for other bassist who don't focus on reggae as us ;)
