Such a cool guy. I saw the Hip at a small bar before Road Apples or maybe before their first album. A Tuesday night in Cambridge ontario. On my first date with my future wife. 1988 or something. No one was really in the pub but I remember the Hip. They were so good. Then many years later saw them in a sold out colesium show in Vancouver with my wife. And they were still amazing. The Hip touched the soul of our country.
I've always loved the HIP since mid 80's and always sat on left side of stagfe where Rob was playing . Awesome guitar player and great to watch as well!
dude, goose bumps hearing you play. I drove home listening to "Scared" . I took my daughter to the last tour in Los Angeles. RIP Gordon, Blessings to you Rob and Paul . I miss TTH. TY for all the great music brother..
Robbie: I still cherish meeting you back stage in 1999 at the Corel Centre in Ottawa. We talked briefly about your amp setup and a little on how you use bi-amping to generate such an amazing sound. My brother and Duncan have known each other for years from charity events for Kingston Psych hospital. He arranged for my brother and I to attend your concert. You are an incredible musician and an inspiration for all if us fellow Canucks! Thank you for your musical contributions and great demeanour! Joe Barnett
Dang I miss you guys. I’m not a guitarist but that looks like a beautiful guitar and I’m glad you like it. I would really enjoy watching you play that guitar live :) I never went to the El Macambo, we drove down to Toronto to actually get tattoos but they refused because we had been drinking, true story. Then we were going to go to the El Macambo but once the mushrooms we did started working we decided to go to the McLauchlan Planetarium to see laser Floyd, we had a good time. That was back in 1984 , I remember because of the girls we took down with us my brother and I were dating them in our early 20’sTrue story and even though I ended up going to some great gigs in Toronto I never did make it to the El Macambo unfortunately.
That’s nuts! How did they get some of that wood? Who thinks to get the wood from the El Mo and make guitars? A damn genius that’s who! Well done, Garren, and hello Elmo!
enjoy, I listen to the hip all the time doing my road bike training. I’m a guitar based songwriter, and I so respect all the textures and parts you contributed and your fine sense of how to build an arrangement to support the song!
WOAH what a cool idea rob!! I love this. No wonder it's your go -to woow. give that lil guitar a scratch for me dang! the sounds you guys would have made with that, and the sounds you will make. wow. so much music has resonated through that wood, truly magic wood.
Hey Rob, Fenders Ron Thorn made a CS Tele of the same reclaimed wood a few years back, Thorn being a good Canadian lad made it so. Never got to hear it though… yours looks AND sounds amazing in your hands 😊 Oakville’s nearby for me, would love to Have the link to Luceon Guitars, Play on brother ❤
...It's one thing to say the hardware on Your "Tele" was in the presence of Jimi Hendrix, The Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Bo Diddley, Charles Mingus , Cannonball Aderley, The Ramones, Teenage Head, U2, Moxy, April Wine, Maclean and Maclean, The Band , Many others!, But When It is an Early Staple For Your Band Mates and You Just Starting Out There's a Special inspiration I'm Sure every time It's played!!!...
Rob - I love your guitar style!! The whole Hip band is amazing. You have a chance to see Gordie again, too. Read Revelation 21:3,4 to see why I say this.
Even just a few notes from you makes the world better....Everytime.
Sounding great as ever, and welcome Elmo.😂 Oh the days at the Elmo, so many great times.❤️

Would you ever consider adding a B Bender to it ?
