The GTA III Tourist: Liberty City Train Ride and Stations Tour

- Hello and welcome to The GTA IV Tourist series! :)
Let's have a throwback by going back further from last week's GTA:SA-related tourist episode to one from GTA III. Today, we take a ride on the the two train lines in the city: the Portland overhead line, and the subway line. For the Portland line, we start and end at St. Mark's Bistro, while for the subway line, we start and end at Chinatown/Red Light District. :)

NGL, train in GTA3 is the safest place from being busted by cops and any soldier, even when I got 5/6 star 🤣🤣🤣

Fun fact: The subway lines actually have names. The names on Portland are:

I remember when npc pedestrians strayed too close to the edge of the platform when trains arrived they would be instantly kille. All you heard was the squish fatality sound effect and their wallet was yours 🤣

24:22 even though this is Triad Turf, Triads are considered an organized crime syndicate in spite their clothing. I wouldn't think they would stoop low as to tag their turf.
Would that tag be for the Diablos considering the Yardis' territory is in Stauton Island?
This is what czech game Mafia from 2002 got better, you could walk freely in the train or the tram and exit and whatever station you wanted

This is so cool. I'm playing GTA III on my phone. Haven't played it in around 20 years. As amazing as its sequels have been, I still have a sore spot for this game. It was simple yet so impactful. Living in NYC, I would play this, LCS and GTA IV if I lived somewhere else and got homesick
It's so cool that smartphone technology continues to evolve, that now GTA III or even GTA: San Andreas can be easily played on the phone. Someday, it'll be awesome when GTA IV, V, or even VI can be played on phones in the future, no? :D

Can't we get in like this in trains in GTA San Andreas ?
We can enter trains in GTA San Andreas either as the train engineer or as a passenger. As the engineer, open the engineer door like how we carjack on the road. As a passenger, go to the coach door and use the enter button or key. :3

There's one thing I noticed in this video. The doors of the train closes as soon as it leaves a station. IDK.

What's bad about it is it's only 1 side running. No trains running on the other tracks
So if you wanna go from one station that is in the opposite direction you have to go through all the fricking line

I had to deal with very bad framerates at the time coz GTA III was having trouble running on new hardware beyond its creation date :( I found a lot of fixes in the newer videos :D
Seems like Liberty City was also inspired from Chicago, hence the L.

nah, not really. I forgot which missions exactly, but Staunton will be unlocked and then finally Shoreside Vale when you start the missions involving the Japanese lady :3 :)

yeah, sadly Vice City also has that ‘temporarily inaccessible’ thing but if I remember correctly, the left islands in the map will be unlocked early in the mission storyline :3 I haven’t tried Liberty City Stories yet though :3

For Staunton, you need to complete the mission Last Requests.
For Shoreside Vale, you need to complete the mission A Drop In The Ocean.
