That's awful what happened !! Its the work you put into it, barrowing it all in, using it well rotted and the money you spent on seeds, devastating to then see it fail. So great that your original company stepped in and helped 😊
Oh no! How frustrating for you re: the manure 😩 I did actually know about the risk of herbicide residue in manure and stopped using it for that reason. You can plant beans in a trial pot of the manure to test it for any contamination before using it on your beds. Great news about the donated compost though.
Yes unfortunately I only found out about this after using it across all of my bed 😀 never mind we live and learn haha. But yes super grateful for the new compost 😃 every cloud 🙏
Glad your back👍sorry to hear about the plants that you have lost😩but wonderful news about the gifted compost😁what a wonderful company they are❤️I am just growing cut flowers on my allotment near Manchester for my own use and to gift to family and friends but it’s very rewarding and I love following your journey 🌺🌸
Thank you for your kind comment, I really appreciate it 💞 Aww how lovely is that! You are so right it's very rewarding 😍💐 good luck with this years flowers 🌱
How disappointing for you. I’ve been offered free horse poop from a friend, I heard about testing it by growing beans in it before spreading it around. You can tell if it has herbicides because the beans will not grow well. Think I’ll try that. Hopefully you can make a good recovery with you wonderful gift of compost ❤
Yes I heard of that experiment unfortunately after I used it across the entire growing area 😆 it's a shame as it does add lots of beautiful nutrients to the ground despite the herbicide. I read that the microorganisms in the soil can break the herbicide residue down over time. However that doesn't help the current situation of it killing off the plants 😅 never mind we learn from our mistakes 🌸

well done for turning this to a positive
You've always got to try and look for the positives 😁👍
