    I consulted my vet and no openings for a week for my cats broken paw. They suggested emergency care, so I called them and they're only accepting level 4 which I guess is only really severe, life or death cases. Glad I found this video. Your cat is very cooperative.

      Make sure you don't wrap it too tight and check for it every 10 mins, because many oriole make that mistake and it causes amputation. Or check w an online vet if you can as this is the aftercare after a vet visit and is not to use as substitute for the vet:)

    Everyone seems to show the front leg, but I can't find the back, which is structured quite differently. 😕

      Useful but do talk to a vet first and don't try to DIY it yourself as it needs work to learn how to do it well and not cut off circulation, hope your kitty gets better soon!

      I'm glad it helped but do note that this is aftercare from visiting a vet and not something to absolutely diy.

    • @MeloCat
      @MeloCat  Рік тому +1

      Sorry to hear that, just be super careful when wrapping it on your own as it can be too tight easily and that can do more damage than good~ I find that demonstrating to the vet to see if the tightness is too much or too little works real nice, also puts everyone's concerns to ease

      There's no substitute, this is only the after care after seeing a vet. Have you tried video vet consultation at least?

    My cat has a broken back leg he is also a outdoor cat *he is our neighbor cat that we took in , yet he is a bit shocking from a situation that happened last week with him and a dog.he has no wound to indicate blood loss , i wanna know how to console him to also aid his foot without him running back under our house?

    • @kyliewalker6647
      @kyliewalker6647 9 місяців тому

      I have this same situation! a stray cat my cat befriend has no collar, & eats at our house every night. I noticed he didn't show up for dinner last night as he normally does, and when I saw him just now I noticed he had a very swollen paw. and he felt warm to the touch. (infection). I wasn't quick enough to grab him before he ran off, but I was able to put a few mls of pain medication in his food. He definitely needs medical care, but he's very shy. I feel so sad, he looks like his paw has been run over which would be VERY painful. Poor baby..I will make sure I catch him tomorrow morning and take him to the local shelter for veterinary care in case it's broken.

    I slammed my kittens leg and paw in a heavy door. It has swollen all over. No blood or cut should I wrap it like you did for your cats paw

      No don't, please go see a vet first. This method was a follow up after we visited the vet and was given the right splint size and bandages... please see your vet first~

    Thank you

    • @MeloCat
      @MeloCat  9 місяців тому

      You need to be super careful, better loose than tight as it can but off circulation, need to play around with it and gauge too. If not confident please check with a vet as it can be dangerous as a diy with no vet suggested advice

      if you broke your arm or leg would you want PANADOL??????? what the FK is wrong with you? take your pet to ER! don't tell the vet you don't have $ until AFTER they have given some kind of pain relief. There is PETS MEDICAL CRISIS, they will help you pay for vet care in an emergency. They lent me $500 for a tooth extraction and it was dont the next day. They provide Australian pet owners financial assistance for operations and emergency care if you are unemployed.
