Remember that these 82.000 people had never heard Floor as lead singer of Nightwish before (unless they had somehow caught their world tour earlier that year).
This song is such an epic opener in itself, and then having it be the first Nightwish song you have ever heard Floor sing - not to mention also having the band look more upbeat and happy than they’ve seemed for many years… I can’t even imagine what that must have been like!
I wonder what it must have smelled like, when 82.000 people suddenly had their dirty festival socks knocked off?! :D

You have to remember that although they were headlining and closing, the audience had mostly moved from the adjacent stage where Alice Cooper had been playing, so a massive, high energy song was needed to grab the audience and hold them. And that is exactly what they delivered!
The choreography of Floor's entrance with Marco and Emppu crossing over as she came on was impeccable.
They announced their presence loud and proud, and I think anyone thinking of maybe wandering off for a burger or something after Alice Cooper was stopped in their tracks!
This was the opening song for this whole tour, so it wasn't planned with Alice Cooper in mind.
I didn't know Alice Cooper was on before them. Nice fact.

Hi! This song is such a great show opener, and Floor was in the zone from the first second on! In this show Nightwish presented Floor Jansen an big european publikum for the first time and the people saw from the first minute what Floor is able to do and to sound! What great singer she is! She sounds great from the first moment and she started to win over the audiance. And all people from the publikum go with her and the whole band for the rest of the conzert and most people fell in love with Floor! All of them did an really great job! Thanks for this reaction! This is Floor being everything she is. She is the queen of metal and rock. Maybe even the queen of music but she is the most incredible singer and performer I have ever seen or heard of. Can you even imagine what it was like to see this concert live? It was the concert of the ages. I have been watching for about 4 years and my body and mind still can't handle what I hear from them. They have changed my life. I always want to be there listening to them.

Love your Nightwish videos Sabina. Isn’t it amazing that she had an amazing entrance, instantly taking the crowd under her controL, and they, in return instantly loving her? This would have been the first time most of the crowd had seen/heard her with the band! She didn’t even start this tour with the band. Many in the audience may have been shocked with a new vocalist. Yet, she clutched them from the get-go and took them on a fantastic 2-hour ride. Wont be able to catch you and Henri live, but hope you post it afterwards. Keep it up!

This performance is in condensed form with all the nightwish magic. The lyrics of the song are uplifting and comforting. I take this song with me to a desert island.

First time I saw this song was when I watched the whole show for the first time. I had seen the usual trio most reactors seem to do and was completely blown away by the energy here. How did they keep the energy going?? Not only was Floor and the band awesome but the audience as well. Their pure joy grew as the concert went on!!! Loved your reaction as ever!!

Floor burst upon the stage... a heroic entrance. A grand proclamation that she was now taking her rightful place as Queen. Any doubters quickly became her willing subjects. The entire audience would have pledged allegiance to her that night.

I will definitely tune in Friday night! Looking forward to it no one has reacted to the entire concert in a while....... So one thing that you can find on UA-cam is floor Jansen does a reaction of her singing ghost love score from the Wacken concert in 2013....... It's very interesting and you get her take on just how nervous she was but she's been in that position before maybe not in front of 82,000 fans but we all know her past and she did go through a decent amount of I guess anxiety I wouldn't call it stage fright but she admits there was a time period where she wasn't sure if she was going to continue to sing because it was affecting her that much but she was able to get over it obviously LOL I would probably suggest that you watch that after you watch the entire concert but it is out there and it's very interesting and I believe it's on her UA-cam page thanks and looking forward to Friday!!!!!
Dark Chest of Wonders was my introduction to Nightwish, from an Annette concert video. Another one of those bands that got me hooked from the very first song. (Karnivool, Ghost, Sabaton, etc.)
Oh, and if it's "yes, yes, yes" perhaps you could react to a song by Yes? "Roundabout" live would be a good start.
I can safely say your reactions are the best as far as Nightwish are concerned. Well thought out, and just so well put together.
I often wonder how Floor must have felt walking onto the stage for this, bearing in mind it was her first festival of this magnitude as lead singer of Nightwish. Maybe she can tell us on Fan Friday, some day.

Don't forget Jukka the drummer. Watch him!! He played like that the whole 1 1/2 hour concert. Tempo right at 200bpm as best I can feel! Unbelievable!! 😍🤩

Hi Sabina, to think that a lot of Nightwish fans had bought tickets early, expecting Annette, then Floor marches on stage and dominates, showing some of her versatility.

THIS is what happens when one opens the Dark Chest of Wonders! Yes, a great tried and true opener for NW. And I'm really pleased you've now become a part of it!
As I have shared, and many here echo, this was an amazing show to be part of. We of course expected to see Anette here when we first decided to attend. Having been a fan of the band since before Marko joined, and having seen every prior lineup, I was confident in expecting a great show. But then, out strode Floor!
This was another fabulous WOA, my 6th I think at that point, with so many great performances from great acts. One gets so saturated at a big festival that it is often just a function of one's stamina that can really impact their overall enjoyment. We had heard before and once seen Floor's previous work, and were cautiously optimistic about her fronting NW as they closed that season. And as they say, the rest is history... This show was Fire. And a mysterious journey. And a white-knuckled carnival ride. Filled with so much joy, and tears, and love, and such fierce enjoyment with the band with our brothers and sisters from literally all over the planet.
Now just for context, I have seen many many wonderful shows, in many countries over many years. This performance remains one of my top experiences ever. EVER! And in a very real way this show at Wacken, after the preceding year or more of this tour, was I believe the true birth of the latest chapter of the Nighwish Journey.

I agree with you that this is a great song to open a concert on....it has high energy and is almost like the pronouncement of an epic journey at its inception. I may not be able to watch the livestream but if it is posted I will enjoy watching your reactions to the concert as a whole....I just bought the Showtime Storytime Blu-ray but haven't gotten around to watching it yet myself.

this song has some heavy and thick sounds like when markco bass sound with the cool rhythmic drums such powerful energetic flows and floor vocal range is quite incredible too

Floor enters, and the rest is history. She's totally from another dimension.
I felt my hair being blown back right through the screen.
Imagine, the audience was packed with Tarja and/or Anette fans. Most of them had never seen or heard Floor before. Certainly not with Nightwish. Floor had to win and heal a lot of crushed hearts right there and then. I think it worked out pretty well.
I suspect pretty much ALL of the hardcore NW fans, whether Tarja or Anette backers, left feeling like their favorite band was back and locked and loaded for the foreseeable future!
@@okiejohn3925 And think about the Dutch people 98% didn't like Metal screamers and gutteral grunters but Floor changed their minds on the very popular Beste Zangers. When she advertised ten concerts after BZ they sold out in two hours.

I was watching the stage hands beside the stage. At first it was a shake of the head for No.
Then Floor came in with the classic tome & they stood there with their mouths open in awe.
Ha Ha !! After that what every song came up, they were all bopping their heads to the music :)

I don't know if this idea will actually work, but have you thought about splitting the reaction into two videos?
One containing your opening/introduction and the reaction. And the second one containing your thoughts about the song, and whatever else you feel like talking.
That way you could monetize the second video. Just tell in the reaction at the beginning and/or end, that there will be the second video, where we can get more of your thoughts, insights and feelings.
And also many of us could support you, just by watching the second video as well as the reaction.
Also, I also love this song as a beginning of the show. It's perfect to set the mood. There's great visuals, epic music, nice tempo, and as always stunning Floor singing.

Great, Nightwish really know how to open a concert. Floor had only been with them for about 8-10 months unsure of exact time but was first concert with so many people 82,000 approx I believe . I don’t want to give incorrect information. Just excited to see them, this concert really is something. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺

This song reminds me of going to see Megadeath, Metallica and Judas Priest...back...to back...to back! 6 hours of heavy metal bliss! Each band opened up with a very high energy song. I don't recall the song Mega death opened with, but Metallic a opened up with "Enter Sandman" and Judas Priest entered with "Hell Bent For Leather!"

Yea, never thought this song could be replaced as an opener, it works just perfectly in that regard. And then they wrote "Shudder Before The Beautiful" and started to use that as an opener. And it absolutely was a worthy replacement. After close to a decade of using this song as an opener i think the band wanted something new.
Yes, this is the perfect way to start up the show, but so is their show closing with "Last Ride Of The Day". This was the opening song on their "End Of An Era" concert also, and I suggest that you should see that one too. I was excited to see Floor as the new singer, as I knew her from After Forever and ReVamp. I was wondering how she would fit in with Nightwish as ReVamp showed us a completely different Floor (let just say hat she let her inner beast free). I was completely awestruck after a couple of minutes, and it seems the rest of the audience was too...
