Bonsai Detour Technically this is just what happens when Obsidian makes their own game. Isn't really any different for any other developer as long as they take the time to do things right and know how to do things right in the first place.
In all reality bethesda did give them more time to n new vegas, but obsidian rejected getting additional time because they cared about getting the bonus, then renegotiating. So all of that was obsidian's fault.
Dia Nuevo but then we got games like Pillars 1 & 2, Tyranny, Wasteland 2... and they don’t have to worry about funding anymore so no more Alpha Protocols... Wasteland 3 is coming too.
@@danielkeem2507 nah, I'm right. I got all the ink nformation on NV. Right. Months before release bethesda asked if they wanted to renegotiate for more time and Obsidian rejected it. Because they wanted to keep the bonus. So is all on obsidian.

@@daubeny.7287 pretty much is. They're showing that they can make a fallout game better than bethesda with a game that isn't even fallout. They're upstaging them.
@TRON And yet you offer up no proof or evidence to back up your claim. People like you never do. I wonder why....? You are a very intelligent person. See, I can make up completely bullshit statements with no evidence too. It's so easy, even you can manage it. ;-)
The game is a lot of fun. I'm hoping that the sales from The Outer Worlds will bring Obsidian back into the spotlight and they start releasing even more games in the future. One would hope that Bethesda would give them the Fallout license again one day. I won't hold my breath though.
Microsoft bought them out, so alas- Playstation and Nintendo fans are left out to dry on future games. On the bright side, Microsoft now owns Obsidian and Bethesda.
@@Sephivoiceactor oh poor Nintendo and Sony fans. If people want to play a certain game they can. Buy an Xbox. I have all 3 but always find this rhetoric idiotic because you wouldn’t say the same about Mario or God of War lol.
@@Boskibro Yes- because Mario was always made by Nintendo. God of War was always made by Sony. Hell- they're 1st party Developers. Being bought by Microsoft but existing outside of it makes Obsidian and Bathesda 2nd party developers. And regardless of the terminology- their past games were made on other consoles so it's understandable people would be disappointed.
@@Sephivoiceactor Yeah... No. Get your facts checked before making faulty arguments like that. The Elder Scrolls - Bethesda's flagship RPG and a great example against your argument - was initially a PC-only title, but when it jumped over to consoles with Morrowind, it was a Xbox and PC exclusive title. This means that Elder Scrolls already started off as an Xbox console exclusive, so it honestly makes sense for it to come back to being an Xbox and PC exclusive after all these years. Playstation may have gotten Skyrim and Oblivion, but both games ran significantly worse on PS3 than on 360, so Xbox was always the preferred home for ES titles. In regards to Obsidian, on the other hand, take a look at Star Wars: KOTOR II , which was also released as an Xbox and PC exclusive way back in the days of the OG Xbox. In fact, this was Obsidian's first ever video game, so again, it's not like they had never sided with Xbox beforehand. The funniest part, though, is that Playstation/Nintendo fanboys like you conveniently ignore the fact that both Sony and Nintendo are pulling the same exact shit that you accuse Microsoft of doing: taking existing multiplatform IPs and making them exclusive. Again, to go back to the KOTOR example, this Star Wars video game series was always an OG Xbox exclusive that never released on the PS2 or the PS3. And yet, it seems Sony's paid to make the upcoming KOTOR Remake exclusive to nothing but Playstation. With your logic, that should be regarded as pretty messed up. I mean, that's like if the next Twisted Metal game or Soul Reaver game was an Xbox exclusive. Ah, but no. Because it's Sony and because you own an Playstation, this is totally fine. Want more examples? Just look at Final Fantasy, which started off as a Nintendo exclusive and then became synonymous with the Playstation brand after the release of FFVII. Select Final Fantasy games have been released on Xbox and Nintendo multiple times later on, but yet, Sony continues to make future installments of this once-multiplatform franchise exclusive to PS. You want proof of Nintendo doing the same thing? Take a gander at Bayonetta, which was once a multiplatform release on PS3, PC, and 360, but became a Wii U/Switch exclusive in later installments. While I can't say much on Nintendo aside from Bayonetta, your claim that Playstation built all of their notable IPs from scratch is, eh... I'd say is merely a half-truth. I mean, they did practically the same exact thing that Microsoft is doing now back during the PS1 era. A number of notable franchises like Metal Gear, Final Fantasy, Shin Megami Tensei, Dragon Quest (aka Dragon Warrior), Virtua Fighter, and the Chrono series all became exclusive to Playstation during the PS1-PS2 era, in spite of the fact that none of these franchises had their start on PS. Either they were former Nintendo exclusives or (in Virtua Fighter's case) were a Sega-developed title. Even franchises like Mega Man and Castlevania which - although they didn't skip out on Nintendo entirely - shifted their focus primarily towards Playstation for a many of their later installments. Even a number of Sony's notable studios, like Insomniac, Naughty Dog, Bluepoint, Nixxes, Housemarque, and Firesprite were all acquired by Sony years after being founded. In other words, they may have mostly made games on Playstation, but they were not "built from the ground up" by Sony themselves. In fact, I'd even go so far as to argue that the reason why Playstation had so many exclusives in its early days isn't because Sony made all the games and IPs by themselves. No, rather developers were enticed to make games for Playstation instead of Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn because it was far easier to develop for. While one of Sony's competitors was burdened with the use of expensive, inferior cartridges, the other had a console that was dead on arrival. So, as a result, most companies chose Sony over Nintendo and Sega. Who knows? Perhaps some of Naughty Dog's and Insomniac's early games were initially conceived as multiplatform titles, but were scrapped in favor of Playstation later on. At the end of the day, Sony's success in the early days didn't have much to do with them building up IPs and studios from the ground up. Instead, most of it was simply because they took popular Nintendo franchises and made them exclusive to their platform, either by contracts or simply by preference. Sure, they had some great new and exclusive franchises, but many of them were not made by first-party studios nor were they all conceived specifically for Playstation. ...Anyways, after that history lesson, let's get back to the main topic. The only difference between what Sony did back then and what Microsoft is doing now is that Microsoft is actually purchasing the studios entirely. Sony would do the same thing, too, but they straight-up can't afford the massive acquisitions that Xbox can do. If you think that Sony has never done this "make multiplatform IPs exclusive to Playstation" thing in the modern day, well think again. Games like Street Fighter 5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev 2, KOTOR Remake, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy XIV, Tetris Effect, and Nier: Automata (by one year) are all great examples of this practice. Fact of the matter is, Sony has always done the same thing that Microsoft is currently doing, and I have no problem with what either company is doing. I just hate to see this idiotic hypocrisy from defenders of Sony and/or Nintendo like you. While I do feel bad for normal Playstation players, they can always just buy an Xbox if they wish to play some of Microsoft's upcoming exclusives (if they end up being good). And if they don't want an Xbox for $300-$500, they can always buy an PC, since Xbox exclusives come day-and-date to Windows. If they can't afford a PC, they can simply stream games through the cloud through their phone, old computer, or TV, as long as they have good internet. Xbox exclusives are inherently more accessible than Playstation or Nintendo exclusives, so don't act like it's literally impossible for people who don't own an Xbox to play Xbox games. Microsoft's approach to exclusives is far more consumer-friendly than any of the other console manufacturers. TLDR: Your entire claim is hypocritical, and it really seems like you don't give a shit when Xbox fans are "left to dry up in the dust" when games in some of their favorite franchises don't make it to their platform.
This is the fourth review I've checked out. I already knew I was definitely going to get this game on Friday, but everything I've been hearing is just making me look forward to playing even more. I am so ready.
When this was first announced I thought "Wow this sounds amazing. It's exactly what I want. Welp something is gonna screw it up." Then a few months ago when first looks and footage first dropped I thought "It's looking good. Great even. This might be what I've been wanting for years after all." and Yet I still held my breathe because I was certain something was going to happen to mess it up still. And now it's looking like it delivers all that was promised. I almost can't believe it. :)
@@Ferskvand why? Pre ordered this and bought the $100 Fallout 76 subscription already. Even spent over $500 in the atom shop. Why not, I make 257k a year and have a wife that makes just as much. People that hate 76 just have no friends, can’t afford atom shop items and hate that it’s not the Fallout game they wanted. Meaningless tears. I have 400+ games on PlayStation and 300+ on steam. @Aron Travis ah yes, fallout 1/2/NV is better in every way...wait a second, and they all were made by interplay/obsidian? Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky are people who created fallout, universe which Bethesda milked to death...And they are also creators of Outer worlds. Give "Outer Worlds universe" 3 games and then we can compare which franchise is better.
@@johnmirra6707 how is fallout 4 better than the outer worlds? Outer worlds has a waaaay better story than fallout 4 And i cant really say much about gameplay cause its subjective The only thing Fallout 4 did better than Outer worlds was the weapon variety, not to mention the dialogue in Outer worlds is more diverse and interesting, in Fallout 4 it's literally yes , no , maybe or sarcasim
They might have gave the fallout fans a present but is it that worth of the praise? I know that the story and gameplay along with quest is great and better than any Fallout games since 3, but that's not the point. What I am saying is that Outer Worlds seems more like Fallout : Outer Worlds rather than being it's own title. If u compare Elder Scrolls with Witcher or with Kingdom come Deliverance, Witcher can't be called a Elder Scrolls game or KCD also can't be called a ES game or Witcher game. They are unique in their own way and 100% different to each other even being an medieval Action RPG game. No matter how good the game really is, if people consider it by another franchise's name, then can it really be an totally independent franchise? Also to those people/Bathesda haters, who definitely hadn't understood what I commented and would come after me saying I am some Bathesda fan. Read what I wrote here again and then properly understand what I meant then come at me. Don't embarrass me by showing your intelligence here. I am not saying as a Bathesda fan or Obsedian fan. I like both company and the game they make. It's not about if one game is good or not. It's about if this game can be called an Independent title and not compared with Fallout. Just see what is the title of the video for Fuck sakes.
Outerworlds was a solid 5/10. I’m sorry, i was a long time obsidion fan. I was a fan of the ORIGINAL fallout game. I was a fan and disliked fallout 4 and hated fallout 76. But this game was below Fallout 4 in everyway. The story, the script, the characters, the different locations, the theme, the endgame, the activities, the soundtrack, the everything, even the weapons, armor, and sadly the final piece. No one is saying anything because they want Obsidion to be the good guys here, they want to say “this game was better than anything bethesda put out” while using fallout 76 as an example which we all know is bad but lets be real. This game didn’t leave a good taste after finishing right? Like it was empty. I don’t see how anyone can finish this game and say “dang, that was awesome. Loved the part when we went into that prison. But my favorite part was when i...” or “god, this character is so cool” when we talk about how boring these unoriginal companions can be. Every rpg or group of characters has this. You have the innocent female character, the badass religious guy, the rich girl who wants to be a badass, the newbie, the mercenary, and the silent non-human ally. Oh and lets not forget the main issue with fallout 4 about how we are given the illusion of choice and that they forced us to agree that the institute and brotherhood of steel are bad guys while the minutemen and railroad are the good guys... but who the hell did we choose for the out worlds? The good guy scientist that saved us and out colony or the bad rich people board that their political push is basically the government. Oh boy, lets not forget the whole story is just you being told to do things for the board or for the scientist. That’s the whole game.
Man i can agree about the story but the characters and all the things that you are free to do,like all the different answers...its 1000 times better than anything that shit of fall out 4 that betheada put out..not to talk about 76,i don't know what the fuck are you talking about😂where were your eyes when playin the game lmao

I I yes! There is background music AND NPCs frequently communicate with each other keeping it from feeling dead. It’s not as active as, say Skyrim or TW3, but things are happening. It’s not like Greedfall or how the game was in my previews.
Omfg since 1:09 that little video with the handheld device that gave me SO much nostalgia to those pre-rendered fallout 1 and 2 videos like the one of welcome to the enclave in 2 or the bad ending in 1

This is NOT the fallout game we've been waiting for. The world is dead. Nothing felt right. Every single quest, there were things I wanted to do, wanted to matter to the quest, that were just impossible. The single player questline is acceptable, but that's not what a fallout game is. A fallout game is a game you can get lost in. Just like the elder scrolls games, you might start a questline and then distracted and spend 2 hours experiencing an entertaining string of sidequests with interesting characters and places. This game misses the one thing the most great games have in common. And that is developers dedicating time to making things that most players will never see. It's mudcrab merchant from morrowind. It's the rodents of unusual size cave in New Vegas. It's the countless little details that make breath of the wild such a good game. And yes, it's the fact that horse testicles hang higher or lower depending on the temperature in RDR2. These are the things that make a game great. The little discoveries you make along the way. The attention to details and storytelling that paint the entire game world. The outer worlds had a passable main campaign, but the magic that would have made it a great game? They needed at least another year or so to pull that off. It was such a disappointment. I've replayed New Vegas over a dozen times. I've played this game once. And I even forgot it existed, for years by this point. So much potential. So much wasted. And be honest... After beating the game the first time, how many times have you replayed it since? Not while streaming or making youtube videos, but just you alone, and only for the fun of it. I bet it wasn't very many at all...
Thanks for the review Matty glad Obsidian could again remind Bethesda of the games Bethesda USED to make and USED to make well. I will be picking this up on PS4 to avoid the Epic Store garbage. Thanks for letting us know what you liked, loved and did not enjoy @Matty. Have a fun week.
Loving this from what I got out of this is story, "writing" is like Obsidian and Old Bioware. And the companions act like Dragon age games and I love that looking forward to grabbing my copy!
I feel like this game is getting a lot of positive attention just because people think this is some sort of "BGS killer" even though from my experience of this game, its just as shallow as recent BGS titles. The morality of this game is entirely black and white. Youre either a stunning and brave communist rebel, or youre an evil corporate pawn. Its clear the devs intended that siding with the corporations be the evil option, no matter the situation because of how the characters frame the situation, and your character just sits there and takes it like "Yup, youre completely right, I am a piece of shit, that is my only motivation now". Goodbye nuance, goodbye grey areas. The dialogue wasnt particularily amazing either. Like, sure its better than stuff like FO4, but thats not exactly difficult is it? It actually made me recoil in cringe during that tumblr fanfic excuse of a romance between Parvati and Junlei, I actually kicked her off the ship for putting me through that on my first playthrough. Personally i found the dialogue in New Vegas far more engaging and interesting - especially since in new vegas, people explored grey areas, there were stories about war crimes, and nobody was evil "just because" they all had their own unique motives. Unlike TOW where everybody is shoehorned into its completely black/white, good or evil morality. I keep hearing on these youtube reviews that, despite this game NOT being open world, that it still encourages exploration. Uhhh, it Absolutely does not. All the zones are structured completely linearly, infact when i actually felt compelled to explore off the beaten track, i saw virtually no enemies, less loot and fewer locations. It actually felt like i wasnt supposed to be exploring. But hey, i guess finding a campsite with a dead assistant, RIGHT next to road counts as exploring for some people. All the hub areas in this game consist of, a town stuffed full of filler NPCs you cant talk too, and the towns abandoned suburbs filled with conveniently psychotic marauders. There is no reason to ever return to zones once youve completed them either. I actually killed every single person in Edgewater on my second play through and it had virtually no impact on my game except vendors were more expensive. All the perks are extremely boring, which in turn makes the entire phobia system redundant. The character im playing now is a solo "jack of all trades" type build, and ive been able to access all the speech checks and hack/lockpick every terminal/door. There is no need to specialize in this game. Its FAR too easy, even on supernova. Guns and armor are extremely generic, endgame guns are the exact same guns as before only with 2.0/Mk II/Ultra in their name. And all the heavy armors have the same model, just different skins. Very little diversity in this regard. The game and its environments are stunning, i love the colourful palate, and Monarch especially is very nice to look at. Unfortunately they clearly didnt put in the same effort for their NPCs. The men all look forgettable and ALL the women look like butch space lesbians. Noone wants space supermodels, but it'd be nice if the women looked like women. 4/10 dont waste £50. Get it on the xbox pass. Certainly not worth it at full price in my honest opinion.
Better than fallout 4 and far short of New Vegas seems pretty apt. I don't get why people are agog about the plot and writing, I guess it's because they actually managed passable writing in the midst of rampant sexism and virtue signaling? It became clear that the majority of the positively portrayed characters were women towing the social justice narrative against villainous white men pretty quickly. Funny bit is, them letting you actually take the side of the evil corporations really is a step up from Bethesda.
I'm glad I found this review. Was considering buying it when the price dropped (honestly the ugly women were what made me nervous, are you at least able to make a pretty woman or are the ugly short haircuts all that's available too?)
If you found the morality black and white you didn’t pay attention There is plenty to find if you go out of your way to explore, at least I found a lot, maybe you just didn’t look Perks were somewhat of a letdown and flaws weren’t worth it Guns and armour were fairly generic World is stunning Not sure on people, didn’t stand out to me as bad but could be
You know, about the cemetery bit you commented at the start: In many places of the real world, specially big cities, you have to basically rent a grave or a crypt drawer if you want your dead friend/relative to have a dignified final resting place. The alternative would be to keep ashes in an urn yourself, or allow the city to exhume the coffin after a while and dump it in a common grave.
This game is like if Firefly was given a game. Parvati is basically Kaylee, Vicar Max is a combination of Book and Jayne, Ellie is Zoe and Jayne, and Felix is...well...Jayne
I’m sorry but Matty has become such a crowd pleaser. He wants so badly to be accepted and liked by his viewers that he’s willing to go against his own feelings to please these people that have opposing opinions. He went from defending Fallout 4 against the overly harsh criticism it faced (an opinion that I and others shared/share), to pretty much bashing it these days because he couldn’t handle the criticism he faced himself. I honestly don’t trust Matty anymore.
Gamers: "Hi Bethesda, can we get more like New Vegas? You know, factions that interact, decisions that matter, always having a third option?" Bethesda: *NO*
Fallout 4 didn't even give you a second choice the I essentially told every faction to go F themselves. And they would essentially say "oh your such a joker" and the plot would move on like i didn't even interact with it.
@@MrUploader14 I mean you could kinda align with factions, but not multiple, and not to the extent of NV. You basically were only making a choice for the endgame. The only time I ever felt like I had any freedom was when I killed Shaun as soon as I first met him. Everything else is just very scriped
Honestly I've never really been into fallout, but when I saw the trailers for this and that obsidian made this I knew this was gonna be a great game to look into.
I'm sure I'll get thumbed down for this, but I'm less excited for this game now than I originally was. Reviews are saying areas are small, the game is short with or without side quests and you can't explore or finish additional quests once you finish the game. It seems more linear than I imagined so I think I'll pass on this game. It's not the game's fault. What I prefer is a true open world title where I can go in any direction, explore and finish quests after the main quest is over.
100% agree. Once I heard that it wasn't an open world game, it was a huge turn off for me. You can always play an open world game linearly, but you can't play a linear game like an open world game. It just takes from the freedom of choice for me.
It seems like it might be similar to games like KotOR or Dishonored, where it isn't open world, but not necessarily linear either. Personally, I think these games are more satisfying because it means that players can always find another way to approach a problem, instead of just "kill everyone and grab the thing," like open-world quests often end up being.
No depth. No characters that steal the show or make you want to become emotionally involved. Super short main story and pointless side quests. No real choices no real consequences. People call it and RPG when it's just a shooter with no enemy variety. Virtually no puzzles, nothing complicated to figure out. You can complete the game in a few hours with the first weapon you pick up. Really just an average game. But there is potential for good games in the future, maybe.
@Prospector Jay Then you must not want to support Obsidian that badly. I gladly preordered it on the Epic platform because I want more high quality games like this one. And I don't really care what platform I play it on. So long as the game exists. Obsidian will make more money if you buy it on the Epic platform, right? That's what I assume.
Just a reminder that everyone's view is just different and nothing is guaranteed. The reviews i trust all say this was great, but i found it as a one-time play. I'd give it a 6.5/10 to be honest
One thing I love is that if the companions get interrupted by combat while they're in the middle of the conversation, after its concluded they'll say something to the effect of "okay, where were we?" and they go back into the conversation where they left off.
I don't have many complaints with this game except for maybe one: For an RPG, it feels short. I've heard people beat this game in like 25 to 30 hours, which I feel is too short when you compare it to, say, Skyrim or The Witcher. That's just me, though. It felt too short. Obviously mods will extend its life cycle indefinitely.
Some may disagree but the last game I bought was fallout 4 when it first came out and between 4, new Vegas, and fallout 3..which I still play all three regularly, this is the first non fallout game I’m considering buying
Ruben Feneser the game is 40 hours and why does it matter if it’s open world there are over 5 planets that are a decent size and totally unique open worlds aren’t necessary
Once upon a time a game was made called wasteland. It was made by a team no one had yet heard of and was published by EA. They wanted to make a sequel to wasteland and have it published by interplay. EA owned the copyright and said no. The team renamed the franchise fallout. The team now known as black isle studios made the engine used in the ballers gate games in addition to making fallout 2 and planescape torment. But now Bethesda owns the rights to fallout. The team now known as obsidian made fallout new Vegas for Bethesda. Obsidian wanted to make a new fallout game but Bethesda still owns the franchise. So as fallout rose from wasteland's ashes outer worlds rose from fallout's ashes. As something new but familiar. The spirit of the wasteland cannot die.
This is THE FIRST game I will replay. I never replay games, even the ones with good stories but this one is so engaging that I can already see myself playing it endlessly....
I like this cause I can make any character I want. Here’s one, the r9k incel: -minimum social skills -high ranged, specifically handguns and long guns (heavy weapons are too heavy) -no heavy armour, it’s too heavy -maxed hacking and stealth traits -minimum melee/strength -can’t party up with women unless story required
I really hope they add a new game plus as well as the ability to keep playing AFTER the ending. They really messed up (shortened, didn't finish) the ending to Fallout New Vegas and there too they didn't allow play after the end battle.
I believe why they do this is because the final mission is meant to be the end of the story so it doesn't really make sense if for example in New Vegas you wipe out the legion there is still legion raiding parties hanging about which is why it lets you save before moving on to that.
@@fence7446 I understand what you're saying but in New Vegas, you defeat one of Caesar's top generals at the general's camp, not the entire Legion or their HQ... So there was no reason to end the game there. I haven't gotten to the end game of The Outer Worlds but I bet they could have written it quite easily to allow for continued play. It just makes the game feel even more special like GTA SA did when you could continue past the last official "quest"...
I wasn’t going to get this game, but I want obsidian to know that I support these types of games that can be successful without micro transactions and is not rushed. Thanks for the review.
'and these companies will not stop at absolutely nothing to lift their bottom line' - So this is a game about Bethesda? and the triple A gaming industry as whole? Bethesda sees it's players as whales and not humans and they will also stop at absolutely nothing to lift their bottom line, going back on promises and lying. Obsidian, I see what you did there. Salute.
im loving the game, put a good amount of time into it so far on xbox game pass, probably will pick it up on steam later on. hopefully it gets mod support and modders do great things with it!
I hate to say it but I found this game to be incredibly boring. The combat and weapons leave a lot to be desired, the companion system was pretty broken too, they made the already easy combat completely trivial. That’s a real shame because the writing, characters, world building, and overall RPG mechanics are exactly what I expect out of Obsidian. I really hope they improve the gameplay in a sequel.
@@pagansailor The epic problem moreso lies with private division, as if I remember right they made that decision. It honestly just kind of sucks all around. I want to support Obsidian, but not Private.

@@Sephivoiceactor Exactly

Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky are people who created fallout, universe which Bethesda milked to death...And they are also creators of Outer worlds. @@johnmirra6707 how is fallout 4 better than the outer worlds?
Outer worlds has a waaaay better story than fallout 4

Orville and discovery both kinda suck honestly. I'll give picard a chance though
I love The Orville, such a funny and charming show.

Is there finally background music or is it still weirdly quiet?
I need to know this, I hope npcs speak to eachother like in previous games but i dunno
I I yes! There is background music AND NPCs frequently communicate with each other keeping it from feeling dead. It’s not as active as, say Skyrim or TW3, but things are happening. It’s not like Greedfall or how the game was in my previews.
I just can't play games without an ost. Feels naked.
MrMattyPlays so its not as quiet as people think it is? because it seems from the footage thats out has barely any music at all
@@K_yalll that was pre alpha footage, there's plenty of background music and npc banter now.
Omfg since 1:09 that little video with the handheld device that gave me SO much nostalgia to those pre-rendered fallout 1 and 2 videos like the one of welcome to the enclave in 2 or the bad ending in 1
*Bethesda Execs* watching Outer Worlds gameplay: Darn, they could have put micro-transactions there. And there. Oh, there too. Oh, come on, right there! Right th... so obvious! Jeez, who directed this thing? Not taking advantage of those neon-lit businesses, perfect micro transaction sights! What a shame. Really coulda been a GOTY contender. Unbelievable.
You can get it on PC through the Microsoft store
You have 3 choices on PC of where to get it at... not just Epic Launcher... Windows store, Epic launcher and Gamepass.
Try it on gamepass on windows it'll be released on there . For 2 months it's only like $2.99 then its $14.99 per month.
If you found the morality black and white you didn’t pay attention
There is plenty to find if you go out of your way to explore, at least I found a lot, maybe you just didn’t look
Perks were somewhat of a letdown and flaws weren’t worth it
Guns and armour were fairly generic
World is stunning
Not sure on people, didn’t stand out to me as bad but could be
You know, about the cemetery bit you commented at the start: In many places of the real world, specially big cities, you have to basically rent a grave or a crypt drawer if you want your dead friend/relative to have a dignified final resting place. The alternative would be to keep ashes in an urn yourself, or allow the city to exhume the coffin after a while and dump it in a common grave.
Take THAT Bethesda!

You know, factions that interact, decisions that matter, always having a third option?"
Bethesda: *NO*
Fallout 4 didn't even give you a second choice the I essentially told every faction to go F themselves. And they would essentially say "oh your such a joker" and the plot would move on like i didn't even interact with it.

Plus sequel exclusivity to Xbox :/ No reason to buy this
I agree but I'm gonna see for myself. I got it on PC for $1 with Xbox Game pass so might as well try it
It seems like it might be similar to games like KotOR or Dishonored, where it isn't open world, but not necessarily linear either. Personally, I think these games are more satisfying because it means that players can always find another way to approach a problem, instead of just "kill everyone and grab the thing," like open-world quests often end up being.
@@AG-dv8gu I wasn't aware of this. That alone would of taken it off my list of games to buy.
I'll be buying this when it comes out on Steam
I mean, you can also pirate it, play now and buy on Steam/gog launch
Piss off there dub, whiny
finding it kinda ironic this game has themes of corporate greed... and the publisher taking that sweet sweet epic money.
If you want to support obsidian then buy it on the Epic platform.
Supernova is like kingdom come deliverance's hardcore mode
One thing I love is that if the companions get interrupted by combat while they're in the middle of the conversation, after its concluded they'll say something to the effect of "okay, where were we?" and they go back into the conversation where they left off.
whatthe- 10 hours? the combat doesnt spike for 10 hours? im still in, but damn, im a bit of a battle junkie.
6 minutes into this video and I am completely sold.... gone see if they sale it at a discount on Black Friday.
Same same
Its free on xbox game pass
Some may disagree but the last game I bought was fallout 4 when it first came out and between 4, new Vegas, and fallout 3..which I still play all three regularly, this is the first non fallout game I’m considering buying
So hyped for this game!
Go to bed this is your cat
15 hours, no open world.
@ do it look like I care
Dilean what the hell are you on why do you keep commenting this
Ruben Feneser the game is 40 hours and why does it matter if it’s open world there are over 5 planets that are a decent size and totally unique open worlds aren’t necessary
So is it Near Perfect? :p
Was thinking the same thing.. hehe
Stop it lol
@@thetardwrangler9001 Honestly... yeah. I didn't like it either. Got past the first planet and was too bored to go on.
This is THE FIRST game I will replay. I never replay games, even the ones with good stories but this one is so engaging that I can already see myself playing it endlessly....
If I had a nickel for every time Matty said "KOTOR 2"
I like this cause I can make any character I want. Here’s one, the r9k incel:
-minimum social skills
-high ranged, specifically handguns and long guns (heavy weapons are too heavy)
-no heavy armour, it’s too heavy
-maxed hacking and stealth traits
-minimum melee/strength
-can’t party up with women unless story required
@1:34 you pretty explain EA, Blizzard and Bethesda!
So this game is essentially the US 10 years in the future.
200ish years maybe, but we all know the US won't be around by then
@@nousername2942 Wow that's ambitious the US is a cockroach.
Wow your video was released at exactly 12am for me! Great review, keep it up. Looking forward to playing the game soon :D
Vr
Level cap at 30 is my biggest complaint 😞
So...ill recognize mr. houses ending as a canon one, that game is his visionary dreams coming true.
Matty let me just tell you, I'm staying very sexy and active.. 😏
Salute.
It’s a critique of capitalism, not Bethesda specifically.
im loving the game, put a good amount of time into it so far on xbox game pass,
probably will pick it up on steam later on. hopefully it gets mod support and modders do great things with it!
If this doesn’t get rpg of the year or even GOTY I’ll riot
I predict a Riot.
Wow, some folks down voted this. That is hard to think about.
Most likely 76ers!
Eh, could be cause of the epic store.
It was Todd Howard using his own account and his kids account(s).
Buying physical copies could fix that and teach Epic a lesson at the same time.
@@pagansailor The epic problem moreso lies with private division, as if I remember right they made that decision. It honestly just kind of sucks all around. I want to support Obsidian, but not Private.
New Vegas is the only fallout game I feel rewarded for taking a companion with me.
The great storylines that unfolded, the interactions.. super excited to get balls deep in this.
2 day's to go.
I haven't been this excited for a game since mass effect andromeda & we all know what happened to that.
Neutronium matters I feel you might wait a day or 2 after release and pick it up if all is good
Now that Obisidian is with Microsoft, they could do a new Jade Empire, but with the likes of KOTOR, this would be amazing! Oh and i can't wait to play this game, nice review! I will play it on gamepass for pc :)
I get the game on gamepass but I still am going to buy a disc copy just to support the dev and show my love for the genre
You get to play as Todd Howard. He comes equipped with a Clown suit and squirt gun. He has only one line "the Toxic items shop is open".
I pre-ordered the game halfway watching this review, I cannot wait to play this gaaame!
Will I be getting up at 5am Australia time to watch this review? You're Goddamn right! Thank you Matty! Your reviews rock!
Maybe Bethesda could learn something. Something good I mean, they are quick to learn monetization schemes after all.
Have it installed on my xbox one X, cant wait to finish work on friday and play this all weekend!
