Can't agree with you more. I was drawn to it and thought it was a solid 4 star read, maybe 5, but that ending just really blew it out of the water for me. Best read of 2022, if I'm not a little biased by its recency. I don't remember how I heard about it - maybe as an upcoming new release in June 2022. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like it has gotten much attention. But I'm very glad I put it in my to-read list and decided to get it from the library.
I love how some books make the reader consider their own experiences when reading the story. Do you have any books that touch you personally?

Quite honestly, I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. I just finished The Book of Goose, and it is also a wonderful, quiet read.
