    This was the best video in the speed run so far. Very instructional, and LETHAL CHECKMATES, great breakdowns of thought process. 10/10 video. Keep it up chess brah 💪🏾

    Eric's humor is at it's best here. The joke about American's passing out after a couple bud lights and "every hole's a goal...Chess hole" 😂

    This series you've done a lot of pauses to force chat and the viewers to think along with you. Seems to me like you enjoyed doing this one, have some drinks and play some 3min chess. Thanks for doing this Eric, love it!

    Bird speed run so good that I’m watching every game on Chessbrah Extra UA-cam channel before it drops on main…. And also get to see all the Caro Kann games as black… that should be it’s own speed run

    I appreciate how in Game 1 the very fact you even opened with 1. f4 contributed heavily to the superior position

    I think the most epic thing I've ever seen Eric do was not his 12 hour match against Hikaru from about 3-4 years ago, before Hikaru was a streamer. No. It was from way back in the Chessbrah mists of time, back when they did challenges. Someone challenged Eric to play and win a game _entirely with pre-moves._ I've never seen anything like it since, pretty much anywhere. So nowadays I like watching these videos of Eric playing with his food.

    You make it look so dang easy. It's easy for me to see when you explain it but when I go out and try it I crash and burn. Lost like 100 points trying the stonewall. Now time to implement the bird!!!!

      Same man, same. I hover between 1450-1600, but have been as low as 1100 and as high as 1800. I see tactics and play certain positions on par with 2000 players, but have zero opening knowledge. I know only the basic setups of core openings, but not the theory or followup lines.
      As a result, I see the simplicity of Eric's speedruns (and his are the best in terms of simplicity & relatability for a ~1300-1800), then go out and expect to reproduce his fundamentally sound play in the open field. Only to "crash and burn" very quickly - again, mostly due to openings (especially e4/e5 openings).
      If I can get certain setups uncontested - especially a basic bird or queen's gambit 7-8 moves deep, where I understand what I'm playing for - I'm almost guaranteed to beat anyone sub 1900. But I'm lost by move 5 against 80% of opponents. Causes a rage and fury that is far beyond what I ever expected from a board game.

    What happens if black keeps the pin on the knight on f3 instead of exchanging? Like the position at 36:28 for example. So say when you play h3 they go bh5 to keep the pin.

    1:52 - if black plays queen d5 won't he be trapping your queen next move with pawn f5?

    • @milkymars9189
      @milkymars9189 11 місяців тому

      not sure, but f5 blocks the queen from defending the knight. so after queen takes knight, g6 maybe Qh6 and bring the knight to g5?
