      Ten months too late but... watch?v=b-45BWyuTiI (copy and paste that above after the slash at the end of the youtube address and watch that video. But I just tilted my washer back and leaned it against the wall and laid down in the floor looking up under the front of the machine myself. It wasn't hard to remove at all. And I'm a chick who has no knowledge of repairing things. Just watched a youtube video like you. ;-)

    A quick note - the symptom of the washer stopping and failing to rinse and drain can be caused by a piece of small clothing getting stuck underneath the center agitator spindle. In my case, it was not visible and I only recognized this when I went to spin the agitator spindle around and the rinse cycle began to run. I fished around underneath the agitator and pulled out a small piece of clothing. Removing said clothing item ultimately resolved my main. Unfortunately, I didn't know this and ended up doing a pump replacement as "preventative maintenance" instead of problem resolution.
    *My lid-closed sensor apparently failed during my work on the unit, so I jumpered it with solid speaker wire and put it an order for a new door sensor.
    I followed this gentleman's instructions for the lid jumpering. As he points out, unplug the unit as your first step - even before disassembling the unit to get access to the switch connector.

    I removed and rinsed my GE washer water pump few times, put it back on, and is working now just fine (it was not spinning nor draining), so I saved some money.

    Vacuum out water through drain hose attached to back at low grade Ah flip it on left side if you have the room 3/8 nut driver may need ratchet with extension if its on either side for one bolt. Remove install no problems. Press in tap to remove wire. Done

    I’ve got an A9400 1980s style Maytag washer with a burning smell and washer will not spin on spin cycle. It agitates fine. Washes fine, rinses and drains fine. The only problem is the burning smell and the spin cycle. Replaced both belts. Replaced motor. Detached drain pump and it was clear as were the inlet and outlet hoses and ports. Water rinses through the pump fine as well. wtf is going on? It’s maddening ???? Anyone please

    After the spin dry the clothes are full of lint. What's is causing this. Is there a filter that needs to be cleaned

    • @partselect
      @partselect  2 роки тому

      That's a really great question and the answer depends on what make and model washer you have. Some manufactures do have some filtration pieces in them but many washer today no longer have them. Linting is a real issue with top load washers , they require such a balance of agitator speed and proper water level, not overloading and quality fabrics. Some types of material easily give up threads of fabric especially when they get older and fray easier. I am curious if this has been a constant nuisance for you or something that has just recently showed itself? If recent then review if anything has changed in your washing process? Different detergent or water level settings, even water temperature setting can effect washability.

      @@partselect I actually think that it's due in part to the poor quality of fabric material used today. I have hoodies that I've had since college, over 40 years ago and are still in good shape. Brand new ones, no matter how much $ I pay for them, are washed 4-5 times have pils and lint every time they come out of laundry day. Lint rollers don't make me happy. It's disheartening, but thank you for your video. 😊 Judy in NY with a Kenmore Series 80!

      You mean how do you take off the cabinet? If you have an old machine you need to take apart the top and flip it back. Then the front and both sides (with the lid open) tilt forward and lift up and out for access. TightWad has a DIY to explain it perfectly.
