  • Sky high taxes, plummeting pensions and swingeing austerity cuts - that's the price Greece is paying as it ends eight years of international bailouts.

    The strict terms and conditions imposed to deal with the debt crisis have cost the country. Especially those who've been made homeless.
    Now, some of them have set up an alternative tour around central Athens to show the scale of the crisis.

    These people they worked all their life but he said within one year of losing his working vehicle he was out in the street. Seems most people are not saving but are months away from poverty if they're out of a job.

    No friends or family wow! Greek culture is family rooted . Weird . But I have seen Greeks actually throw their burdened family members young or old put . Not all but their is many . If he worked all his life how come no pensions?

      Pension funds are now being used by our governments to as internal loans to pay public debt. That's why the european media now praise the ''Greek government's success in lowering debt''. Destroying the future of the people to pay the usurers is pretty much what europeans wanted Greece to do from the very beggining.

    Prople are far worse in Ukraine , Moldova and Georgia ! There is no pension of 350 euros in those countries but there are 50 euros pensions or less ...

      Come to Greece to live with 350 euros. In those countries pensions is 50 euros but prices are far lower than Greece's.

      Nope. The Greek government took the loans and lied about its economy to the EU. The Greek people continued to vote for leftist politicians that continued "giving to the people" instead of lowering their debt.

      Comments such as yours are part of the reason people voted in the first place. Having a doctorate, a degree, or a P.H.D doesn't give your vote any more weight than a 'van driver'.
      If democracy means anything at all, then class/education/privilege differences can't have any baring on such a vote.
