We had the exact opposite thing. The motor broke a long time ago, but the picture still worked. And a neat little thing is that you could make phone calls with this TV
I used to have one of these years and years ago. I actually miss it. it had a dead picture as well, but if you powered off the TV, you could see a picture for a split second before it shut completely off. These particular chassis were plauged with issues.
I remember when my mom and dad bought one in 1981 or 82'. It was awesome, we were the only ones on the block to have one and my friends didnt believe me when I called them on the phone with it lol
The late 80s and 90s were abysmal times for Zenith since it moved production of their TV sets to Mexico. Foreign competition took a heavy toll on RCA and General Electric, but Zenith was best regarded as "the last U.S. television manufacturer standing." LG took Zenith under its wing in 1995 and Zenith disappeared into thin air in 1999.
had this tv grtowing up. My Dads pride! Made phone calls and was so loud!! we finally got rid of it in 2003 when we moved .. it was just too big and heavy. I might have some 1980s Xmas Videos of this Tv
I bet you could have this set fixed if you can find someone thats wiling to repair it for you . I heard that the slow and nosiy motor sound can be fixed . I bet your not getting no rf signal .
Outrageous heavy! And barely fit through the door. Mine always had a good pretty good picture. The guns got a little weak as it aged. Also had the Space Phone. It was so much fun to call people and answer the phone on that TV.
i want one so i could mod it to have composite and use it as my daily tv for xbox and all of that. yes it sounds dumb but i really love that tv. the people who designed that tv are absolute geniuses and for 1981 thats some futuristic tech
The video stopped working because Analog tv station shut off back in 2009, but if you bought a digitial converter box and plugged it into the back, it would work just fine.
Nope, it's been repaired for sometime by it's new owner. It was the video card. It went bad back when basic cable in my area still didn't even need a box.
I'm talking about the remote for your television set. You have posted that your video quit working a couple of years back. I personally believe that your video has not quit working, but that your television could simply be on the wrong setting.
That video is from back before cable TV required a box, cable channels work with the turner in the TV. Didn't matter what channel it was on the sound worked the picture didn't. It had been fixed once before, but this same issue kept happening, was afraid it was going to start a fire when it would quit working. It looked like a Tesla coil in there when it goes out.
year the 1980's had the coolest shit, it was also a year where everything was possible, you could call it the peak age or where stuff could go really advanced
The old version of the smart TV.
teletext is better

How did that work?
I remember these from when I was little. I thought they were *so cool*.
What do you mean "were".This is still the coolest t.v. I have ever seen.
I would love to have this set in my life in 2019!😍😍😍
this tv is incredible! but maybe you will not be able to connect your playstation 4
I'm not much of a gamer, so I would be perfectly fine with that...lol
All you need is a hdmi to what eve Ariel connector it uses

I KNOW someone could fix this for you. I wondered if you are in Louisville? Disney Channel is 29 on TWC here too. ;-)
Depends on the channel slot setting
I Say Channel 258 Xfinity And Channel 473 Fios Are Better.
The creaking and hillbilly music crack me up! Cool television ive never seen before. Its a shame those were so problematic.
Just imagine your child sneaks into your room and just turns on the tv
there is probably not a lot of these anymore and even the ones that are around likely needs a lot of servicing
This is epic
How does it come out of cabinet I thought you had to open the top.
How in the f--k have I not seen this in a movie like Scarface or Walstreet?!?
i want one so i could mod it to have composite and use it as my daily tv for xbox and all of that. yes it sounds dumb but i really love that tv. the people who designed that tv are absolute geniuses and for 1981 thats some futuristic tech

That is a "Zenith Space Screen 45" 45 in. TV

@@TheBabyBunk are you willing to sell it?
Looks like a projection TV. If it is, the bulbs need to be replaced so you can see an image. RGB bulbs.
Bulbs? Lol Maybe unscrew red green blue bulb out of his Christmas strand outside on the roof.
Cost 1981 ???
