When you feel upset at someone cheating, you are really upset that you could be cheated on, but you’re not that person, you’re projecting yourself into that situation instead of understanding how that situation came about. Cheating during a relationship is even given the term as though it’s a good thing, to “cheat” is to get ahead, and when applied to men, it’s not that big of a deal, even lauded as an admirable quality to sleep with so many women and be known as a heartbreaker, but applied to women, the euphemisms for negativity are far more powerful and impactful. Calling a man a manwhore still implies the “man” in that situation, while a derogatory for a female dog is not.
