Yeah you need to do a deep dive into the history of the Al Burger which was created as a unique offering at Big Al's club (tons of history there too) in Smithers. Burger Carte makes them but I am told they are not very true to the original.
I wrote about the history of the Al Burger last spring, and it was published in METRO Magazine. METRO is owned by HD Media. I'm not able to publish screenshots here unfortunately or I'd share it.
BIG GENE! I love those. I live in Kentucky now and can’t get them. To hear them compared to a Big Mac was devastating lol. Glad you guys went to burger carte. Have you been to Franks Pizza in Montgomery?
You definitely need to try Shima's Family Restaurant in Nitro. The Kamikaze burger was fantastic and the specialty egg rolls are amazing. Never thought of a Pizza egg roll but it's like a pepperoni roll in an egg roll wrapper. They are on Bank St next to the Golden Wok.
You were just 30 minutes away from Gran Robbie's in Ansted, WV! I'm starting to believe that my challenge to you to vist them is not being considered. 😢
Makes me homesick for my second home! My dad was born and raised around there and we lived there for a while. My husband is from Oak Hill! We used to eat there on dates! Watching from Alabama now!
The restaurant was full at the time we got our food and then it cleared out when we ate the second item. They also had a shift change in the middle of all that to and noise was a factor to.
I enjoy your channel. If you make it to the Northern Panhandle, Tito's Sloppy Dogs in Wheeling is a newer establishment. Across the river in Bellaire, Ohio is Gulla's Lunch- the place has much character & been around for decades.
@HaveFunWV I can't say for Tito's, but Gulla's has a Gulla dog with a "special sauce". My in - laws are from Bellaire- for them the sause is like their mother's milk and having lunch at Gulla's is a taste of home.
Al Burger... best burger and alot of history to it.
Yeah, I was convinced we were going to learn the sauce for the Al Burger, not the Big Mac lol. They should try the other 98% of the huge menu.

BTW, we stop at the Burger Cart all the time. Love all their offerings! 🤤

And the question is, do they have a unique hot dog? Something with cool toppings?
