You folks play some awesome music together. I love the sounds when you have a bunch of talent together. I wish I can be there when festival is happening. Great music!
This is such a magical event. I like that at the start you managed to audio capture the moment between 7-7:15am where there is a break from fiddle music as the all-nighters to go bed and the early-risers wake up :)

That's Hard Drive, with Tatiana Hargreaves, Aaron Tacke, Sonya Badigian, and Nokosee Fields. Their album just came out recently, and is available at hard-drive.bandcamp.com/
@@tribchb Great traditional gospel song with many fine versions. I learned it 40 years ago from National Geographic LP of Ozark Music. (I can't find it on youtube). That version, the one I prefer, is "regular" without the long drawn-out notes. But, I like all the versions I have heard.
I shoot with Sony PXW-X70 cameras. I also use a Rode Video Pro (boom) mic. Rather than trust the Sony audio (built into the camera), I use an old school Beachtek 2 channel mixer. The camera is far from perfect (slow/inaccurate zoom, wonky audio, twitchy ND auto filter), it does have some upsides (good in low light, sharp image, decent color for the price). So I've learned what I can accommodate to get what I'm after. Thanks for noticing! Craig
i stopped in for this festival. Sadly all the musicians i tried to speak to or jam with were so stuck up and arrogant. I have 4 gold records and i would never treat anyone like that. These folks have nothing to back their arrogance
Banjo Miner, I'm sorry you had such a poor reception. Please don't hold the whole community responsible for your admittedly disappointing first impression. I'd be happy to answer any questions or make up for what you were seeking. The whole community is a bunch of seekers. That's why I'm surprised you weren't given a warmer welcome. Peace.
Banjominer.., a lot of musicians have 3 hands, 2hands for playing their instrument, and 1hand to give themselves a clap on their own back..They can be their own best fan..
Back to listen again, this entire video is absolutely incredible!
What a great advertisement for Clifftop. Thank you. So much great music and comradeship.
Absolutely amazing. Love your women, love your sisters, mothers and grandmothers. This is incredible!
Watching this makes me wish I could of been there.that would be something to always remember
Just beautiful!
thank you for capturing and sharing!
Thanks for capturing the shape note singers--they sounded great!

Love the Shape Note singing. It's almost a lost art. Thanks for keeping it alive.
These people are great! Thanks for posting!

"now shall my inward joys arise" nicely done folks
Love this
Second song, drummer got the "Bo Diddley beat" happening. (An ancient rhythm)
Shout out to Aaron Tacke at 17:00 who got me back into banjo after hearing his work with Steam Machine.
So many great traditions on display here! (I see they even let some bluegrassers in.)
When can I go to this and where is it?
It’s called the southern Appalachian string band music festival. Google it to learn more. It’s coming up the end of July.
@@craigevans4010 I will, end of July I have an event but will definitely like to attend some time
17:00 That sure looks like Victor Furtado in the maroon shirt between the banjo and fiddle players. A great picker himself!
Wonderful!!
Where is cliff top what state is it in no info
Great video, but that singing at 16:55 is just about the finest you'll hear, fabulous...........
about the hairiest pits you'll see on a girl too LMAO
great clip!
Can anyone tell me the name of the hymn at 25:00?
At 4:00 that girl does some good guitar. Sure does make that lead fiddle sound right.
What is the name of the tune Sami starts at 8:55?
Gunboat. Ernie Carpenter has a great version, but I think it's from the civil war(or just after)
@@jayd619 Thanks Jason!
Love the "Seasonal Gal" segment. Nice one fellas!
How did l miss so much talent in one place where is this
West Virginia. Everybody overlooks us. Sometimes we're ok with that though. Our seclusion is the reason we still have this beauty
Now now I have a lot of family lives in west Virginia what part do you live in and where do they have the festival
Was you in the video

23.30 amazing acapella/choral
What's the first tune right after the singers?
What is the name of the band that starts at about 16:50?

I am looking forward to attending clifftop some season soon, me and my boyfriend can't wait.
Are there many classes/ workshops?
Does anyone know the name that first a cappella song? Thanks for posting this!
Bright Morning Star.

As a Brit I thought....................................brilliant.
'Love it!
Where do they have this event? Looks pretty clean and family oriented.
Paul Larnce
What does that even mean?
@@powbobs No drugs- no weirdos.
Obviously doesn't know many musicians.

I see, said the blind man!
Curious as to what camera you're using....excellent capture!
Yes, the sound is quite good. I've not seen a camera pick up a bass so well, very nice.
