George Lucas on Why He's Done Directing Star Wars Movies - Розваги
I feel so bad for George Lucas, i mean, he's the man who created all of what we love, and the always get insulted because he want to try new things.
Great job, fan-boys...
+Alessandro Saar I agree.
+Alessandro Saar I would rather see George's experimental films than Abrams' blockbuster movies.
Right? I'm interested in what he is going to make.
tyler0896
Yeah i love you too
+hulkhatepunybanner yea i dont like this jj guy, he called star wars s***. that shows that he already has no respect for it and just sees it as money. does he work for Disney?!
I feel so sorry about Lucas. He was actually forced to give it all up because of ungrateful fucks who are constantly whining.
**applause***
+mock15halo Ok, the usual bullshit. I love the Star Wars prequels and I like what he did with the prequels. I won't even bother to explain why as you guys can only whine and hate about them.
+JoshUSA Leetus - 4.4 billion with a part in Disney shares and probably other agreements. He is laughing.
+TheFlak36 I hope you're not saying we should be grateful for the poorly-written, poorly-acted prequels. The original trilogy showed what he's capable of delivering; that we got less the second time around shows he didn't give a shit. So why should we care either?
If you thought Episode VII was bad but the prequels are great, you're what's wrong with the world today.
I'm sure the prequels seemed really cool to you when you were a little kid, but you can't begin to claim they were better than the original trilogy. Remember Empire? Guess who wrote that - the same guy who wrote Episode VII. Good day.
George: "What happens to Vader's grandchildren"
JJ: "You tell me man, you made all this shit up"
Disney: *Rejects all of George's ideas*
seriously fuck JJ
I swear like I'm taking crazy pills when people say TFA is a "Great Stand Alone" film when it relies on the glory days of A new Hope. Let alone the Real Reason A New Hope used the best practical effect of the time was because it was the best and only way to tell the story. Yeah George Lucas used a lot of CGI in the Prequel trilogy but it was the best, easiest, cost effective way to make Attack of The Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Yet, the use of CGI on TFA was pretty heavy and i have no problem with it, only difference is that the CGI is better than 10+ years ago.
George Lucas ruined SW. The best that could have happened to the franchise is that somebody took it away from him. So far, 2 out of 2 hits for Disney.
Nah so far Rogue One is the only one that blew away expectations.
i'm sorry, i must have missed the fact that force awakens made more than 2 billion usd. My bad.
I don't understand why everyone hates the one person who created Star Wars, It's his universe.
He was the God of Star Wars an he decided to make an origin story of how Anakin became Darth Vader.
I think the prequels are Good and I am not ashamed of that.
You don't have to like the prequels no body ever forced you to. Hating the films are not gonna make them disappear.
+hal0spartanii7dn I blame Simon Pegg.
+hal0spartanii7dn People don't like phonies and liars. What he claims is "experimental", everyone (except you apparently) can see right through to what it really is: softening things to be friendly to a greater number of demographics - namely small children along with their overprotective sissified parents. In other words money, money, and more money. If you actually see any "artistry" in any of it, you are unimaginably stupid.
+tyler0896 And this is why we'll never see another true star wars. ppl like this ruined it for everyone.
+tyler0896 Star Wars a ride at Disney.
+tyler0896 So you are judging my intelligence based on my opinions about some movies. Okay. That says more about you then about me...
Anybody else feel bad for George in this video?
Daniel Claybourne I do. He would still be involved in the sequel trilogy had the fans not turned on him and stabbed him in the back.
In light of recent revelations, absolutely. His question about Vader's grandchildren was a jab at JJ tossing out Lucas's plans for the sequel trilogy. JJ's cynical response was especially bad for pretending that this was all still part of Lucas's vision.
Lucas had so much influence on the world of art and culture, he should be proud instead of struggling with the critics. Movie making is a complex and difficult thing to do, that's why movies are made by movie makers and not by critics.
+Kostack Studio Well said. Lucas spends too much time worrying about the critics. Not that I agree with all of his decisions.
+Kostack Studio I think you're right but also you have to count the fact the the personal and unreasonable hatred Lucas has received for the prequels is somewhat unprecedented in the history of cinema. One thing is to deal with criticism from people that didn't like your film another thing is being called the worst possible things on a daily basis and being routinely accused of raping people's childhood and just being downright hated by many of the fans of the very same world you're the creator of, it's a shame but you can see how something like that might get the best of you. With that being said I think the legacy of Lucas won't be negative and ultimately he'll be remembered as a great director and I hope that he'll change his mind and his new experimental films won't be just shown to his friends as he said they will but that they'll be available to everyone.
Well it kind of hard to not worry about the critics when ur a crap director
+Kostack Studio On one hand I respect him for doing his own thing despite the critical backlash. On the other hand his ego and the resentment he feels towards people who don't accept that vision is aggravating and as a person he seems like quite the jerk.
+Kostack Studio
I would rather give the credit to the many *many* talented people that created Star Wars rather than give ALL the credit to George Lucas.
I love you George! You created Star Wars! Also I love the prequels, fuck the haters!
The prequels aren't bad itself. It's the overuse of CGI that does it. And (arguably) Jar Jar.
+xxx_jhong _xxx and you know, the complete lack of story structure, plot, character development....la la la
+xxx_jhong _xxx and you know, the acting is atrocious. But that's the scripts fault. Natalie herself said these movies almost ruined her career.
+MKCD 20 good one
+MKCD 20 Same here.
One thing I have to commend Lucas on is his trolling capabilities. Jar Jar Binks...perfect answer.
Jar Jar is a sith lord.
@@CaptainQwazCaz I'm still convinced that Lucas had bigger plans for Jar Jar ever since I saw Episode 1. He seemed like the kind of creature that was plotting something.
One of the greatest ever. Has Jar Jar smile at the camera briefly in episode II to troll the haters.
George doesn't do trolling humour. He genuinely will have meant it. Star Wars should always appeal to young kids to him, whilst having much older roots. Jar Jar is the Charlie Chaplin/Buster Keaton/Harold Lloyd slapstick element who Lucas wanted to turn in to something darker. Jar Jar represents childlike unaffected goofy fun. Lucas is really a big teddy bear - a cool guy with a heart like soft marshmallow.
@@CaptainQwazCaz
A Sith Lawd?
I feel bad for him. Say what you want about the prequels, but Star Wars was his baby. Could you imagine just walking into a room with a bunch of phoney disney executives smiling, "Thanks but we don't need you anymoe." It's really kind of sad.
yep :( first Disney ruined Disney channel, now they'll ruin star wars.
96NightRider96 No they won't ruin it. At least, "The Force Awakens," won't. But I fear that the amount of movies Disney is planning to release will cause a Star Wars fatigue and sadly, I think that will kill Star Wars. Even though the prequels (Except ROTS) were dissapointing, the fans and Lucasfilm kept it alive.
+Ben Milner saw the film the force awakens pretty much fucks up so many points of the star wars ethos is kind of disrespectful but I'm not a fanboy, it's funny that the same people who said star wars rules were destroyed by stuff like midi chlorians and purple lightsabers are going to be fine with how much tfa breaks thousands of the rules of the swu, especially many things that have to do with the force. With that being said I'd have been ok with it if the movie was good, it wasn't, it was just kind of ok.
+Framcesco Maria Carreri so yeah in a way tfa ruined star wars as a big coherent saga turning into something more similar to the marvel universe, at this point I think it will be the stand alone movies that it will save the legacy, star wars will be different but hopefully we'll get some interesting films set in that universe.
He sold Lucasfilm to Disney for 4 billion dollars. Somehow I think he will be fine.
"You tell me" Seriously? He did, but they ignored his idea and went in other direction.
Filip Jeglic It's astonishing people don't get he's making a joke.
Thomas Mendez I know he is, but not really good one.
Filip Jeglic when was this said ? Were Lucas' orginal ideas revealed ?
GeekGodess I don't know about that, but I think they were and are still a secret. George lucas said that in one of the interviews. That he gave them basic story for new trilogy, but they didn't use it.
Filip Jeglic well idk, maybe he wanted to include Jar Jar, and a forbidden love btwn Rey and Kylo aha ?
I really feel for George Lucas he made a master piece that is loved by millions but gets so much criticism. When people say he "ruined Star Wars" is ridiculous with out him you wouldn't even have Star Wars.
My thoughts exactly.
After watching this, I almost feel bad for thinking the prequels sucked. You can tell the criticism has gotten to him over the long term.
+Deehvad Good.
+Deehvad yeah, and what's more interesting is that the prequels and the ot are pretty similar in many ways (if you remove your nostalgic feelings towards the ot and look at it through a more analytical perspective), they each had flaws in acting, flaws in lines, and each had characters that were annoying.
+Th3UniQu3 yeah, I've heard it all, how people hate the acting (Luke Skywalker is much whinier and annoying then Anakin Skywalker in A New Hope and Empire, while Obi Wan is good in all six, Qui Gon was just as interesting and fun to watch as Han Solo, and Padme was just as effective as Leia), I've heard people complain about how its to reliant on cgi (even tho people complained about return of the jedi being to reliant on puppets), people complain about the politics (even tho it showed how unified the old republic was, how it kept the universe from going into total war up till the clone wars, and how it was an important part within the galaxy before being overthrown by the Empire), the list goes on. But im sorry, from a story tellers stand point, they're both good and bad in their own way, yet peoples love for star was blinds them from it.

+Deehvad My favorite sw is still ep 3
Jar Jar's the key to all of this.
+SternMann93 i'll never forget he said that....
turns out though he may be a sith?
The Reddit theory convinced me and the phantom menace will never be the same again.
+Embrace your Darkside --- You mean he's full of sith?
Samuel Faict pfffttlol i see what you did thereXD
+SternMann93 Exaggerated dialogue
What happened is that George Lucas really evolved as a human being, and the rest of humanity remained children.
No he devolved.
@@CelestialWoodway How tf u brainlet
You guys are too harsh. It's his story, his creations, he should be able to do as he pleases. No offence, but you guys have no right to belittle him for it, like its your franchise
+ranger1000 Except George R. R. Martin is making money.
+Docta Glitch Hum, you know what ? So is George Lucas. A lot more actually.
+ranger1000 Except GRRM is making his books exactly how he intended.
Lucas had a great image and good ideas for his Prequels, but the problem was that he put too much on his plate with directing everything in them and the Prequels just got too convoluted.
I am actually in love with the overarching story that consists of the prequels, but he just got lost in what mattered with them with his direction style. I agree that it's his story and he should do what he wants, but honestly what came out of them is not even what he 100% intended. He had a great idea, but not the coordinated team to pull it off as he did with the original trilogy.
+awesomekid120 The problem is, what Star Wars is, and what everyone found so charming about it, is NOT 100% attributed to Lucas. It was a TEAM effort and it is easy to forget that. He did not direct Empire or Jedi and was mostly a consultant. The limitations Lucas was plagued with in the original Star Wars helped ground and focus the story and characters to be as lovable and timeless as they were. It would be unfair to to say he should do as he pleases with the films because they are not entirely his. They also belong in part to cinematic culture now, and doing something like extensively digitally altering the original theatrical releases without preserving and making available those original movies is practically a crime, even if he did get the ball rolling and then take that same ball home when he made the prequels. I want to like Lucas, I respect his contributions to the Star Wars universe, and recognize that it wouldn't exist without him, but if the originals were just released by him and remastered to be top quality, then I would have zero issue with him. I can pretend the special editions and prequels don't exist, but for culture's sake, he has no excuse to pull the crap he has pulled, and nobody should forget that.
It is our franchise though, us, the fans, are experiencing it
the sad thing is he will get tons of tributes after he passes away saying "thank you george, you were a genius", but meantime he's alive people will shit on him. This world sucks.
Well put. I've nitpicked the prequels, but even when I did I don't think I ever thought negatively towards George because I respect what he has contributed to movies, our culture, and my life. He made some decisions that haters won't stop moaning over, but he gave us many things he doesn't get enough thanks for.
Strange video. Lucas complaining about the nature and direction of the films, and sticking it to everyone by saying he would be Jar Jar, intercut with Abrams thanking him.
Very strange video....
+Eric Chamberlain I can see that you're clueless about what he is implying.
+Eric Chamberlain I don't know what George is talking about, regarding no one wanting to see experimental films. If you get past all the mass produced crap in the mainstream movie and music world, there's a wealth of very good stuff to watch and listen to. And there is no shortage of people who enjoy it all.
+Michael Ricketson Agreed, I like that type of material as well.
+Eric Chamberlain It was a joke clearly.
He is actually completely right. It is a shame that people these days are unable to just sit back and enjoy where a movie takes them. The prequels were pretty good movies, but people had already made them in their heads, and so were unable to appreciate any decisions that they would not have taken themselves. Just watch all the negative reviews (RedLetterMedia, Collider, HelloGreedo). It is just a huge pile of "I don´t like this, I don´t like that". Someone even stated that he would have liked the fight between Obi Wan and Jango Fett if it had only featured Boba instead. This is kind of the mindset of most people who dislike the prequels. Just ridiculous.
Actually the mindset most people have are that the films were poorly made. You cant honestly listen to the dialogue in episode 2 and not laugh, the line deliveries from Hayden were cringe worrhy, the pacing in the first two were completely off, and both featured mundane plots that were tough to get through, why cant you accept the fact that there are people who legitimately disliked the prequels for solid reasons? I actually really enjoyed the third but despite that it doesnt change the objective criticism a good amount of people have with the films.
Also "just a huge pile of i dont like this i dont like that"..... In a review???!! Wow, thats so unexpected, come on now lmao
+AyVee I have no problem accepting that people do not like the prequels. But I do have an issue with people claiming they were objectively bad.. like you do ;) The simple fact is you don´t like them. That´s perfectly okay, but it doesn´t mean they are bad movies. And if those movies are poorly made then 99,9% of all movies are. It´s all just a matter of taste.. and as far as acting goes, I would choose Hayden Christensen´s performance over that of both Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher in the OT any day of the week.
True that a lot of ppl are that way though... They are just kids about it.
So basically you are saying that people hate the prequels for being different.... sounds accurate.
So all you prequel haters, here's proof George Lucas doesn't give a shit what you think
+Adam Foxman Isn't this proof that's exactly what he does? Throwing all his toys and going home, I'm glad that's what he did but I think it does seem to have gotten to him. And that's a bit sad, it shouldn't be so personal, but it pretty unavoidably is.
+RagdollRalph He has nothing to be ashamed of. People get mad about the "mystique" of the force getting destroyed by introducing midochlorians but the fact is George made up all of this and he can tell it any way he wants. Why do you think he went back and remastered the originals?
+Adam Foxman Ehm, that is a bit simplified I think (people have many other, legitimate complaints, for example that the prequels just are not very good movies). But yeah, he is free to fuck up his own universe, like any artist is with his own art, but to me its understandable that people don't like it.
In a way, he doesn't care about what people think, meaning he's not going to let it change who he is, but you can tell, the audiences have crushed his spirit, or at least it appears so. He still refuses to let them stop him from being who he is, but he seems to have no joy about it. Sadly, the world has destroyed a great director.
+RIGGY WALLCARD I do sort of agree, it is a bit sad. Don't know if I would call him a great director but he certainly has been largely responsible for at least three historical films. Although he seems to lack understanding of what people want and what works. Maybe getting famous made him too self aware, or lazy? Don't know but I agree that the personal attacks some people engage in are uncalled for.
To all the whiny nerds hating The Phantom Menace and rest of the prequels, listen up: One of the main themes of Episode I is having organisms realize that they must live together and they must live together for mutual advantage. Not just humans but all living things and everything in the galaxy is part of a greater whole. That's basically the idea of midichlorians and the Force, and the realization that Gungans and people of Naboo must live together, in this case the most unlikely character Jar Jar becomes a central figure that brings two nations together. And yet people are calling the prequels shallow ??? Are you that stupid really that you don't see how deep it actually is and what a master storyteller George Lucas is ..... He wanted to continue a story of Skywalker family in Episode VII but Disney and Abrams had a problem with that. But in fact the whole saga is about family and family issues - that's why people all around the world identify with it because it is not about spaceships, blasters and lightsabers but the core is really about family, about love, rise, fall and redemption - it is a modern myth. So far anything that I have seen from Abrams was shiny blasters, shiny spaceships and plenty of action (in the trailers) ....... I am very curious what episode VII really turns out to be but it will never ever be as good like when George was directing - you can count on that.
+tiredofusernameshit I don't agree at all. The part where Rey refers to herself as "no one"..... The whole part about Han confirming to Rey that the legends are true.... Finn renouncing his ways of old.... And the musical score sounds spot-on. The new movie has the looks of something very special to me. Rey is the everyday person who is about to realize her calling. The modern myth just might be alive and well.
Theres a lot of speculation Rey is Lukes daughter or Han and Leas, and that Kylo ren is Han and Leas son. "Im waiting.. For my family" "i know those eyes" iddkk we'll see
+AyVee its true. all of it!
+tiredofusernameshit Well Said!!!George Lucas is genius,no one made space opera and soap opera at the same time,no director can achieve such feat without resulting some criticism from the so called "fans" who really love Star Wars because it has The force and lightsabers.George Lucas is one of the best things that dumb USA produced
GreatSage What's wrong with liking Star Wars because of the Force? That's a pretty central theme to the whole franchise.
I want to meet George one day just so I can give him a big hug and tell him
Hey man you’re a genius and you are amazing
I don’t want you to ever stop seeing that and despite everyone else’s idiocy all your movies are masterpieces and thank you for changing the world.
I actually really liked the prequals, not as much as the originals. But i still really liked them
I like them both.
I won't hate on George he gave us Star Wars, stop hating on the prequels it's been what 12 years? Get over it.
I love George Lucas and his creative direction. I understand what he's saying, Hollywood isn't his style. Hollywood wants everything a certain way, their way or no way and George doesn't like that (neither do I). I love experimental films and George you keep doing what you do best and innovate. There ARE people that will watch your experimental films, please continue doing it because in Hollywood it's the same ol' stuff.
B-Radical Gaming I wish I could see his experimental movies... Also, always good to meet another Brad on the internet XD
Poor George. I love his vision and I think it's very sad how many people claim to love Star Wars, yet give it's creator so much hate. I will always respect Lucas and his vision for Star Wars. Thank you for ALL 6 of my favorite films of all time Mr. Lucas!
I feel like I'm the only one who actually likes the prequels and also watched the originals first.
+Hating Haters
Your comment doesn't fit your name.
Made this name in my angsty, angry era of my life, I'm a happy person, so people usually get confused XD
Hating Haters
Come to think of it, your name could be read differently to fit your comment. : 3
+Hating Haters I like the prequels but just not as much as the originals
Edvin the Prequels made star wars...they physically gave a background and beginning to this whole timeline...yeah I know Jar Jar was a terrible Idea, and the CGI was way over excessive but other than that If they weren't created then star wars wouldn't be where it is today.
This video made me feel like shit. George Lucas has gotten so much criticism to the point where he doesn't want to show people his films anymore. After all the guy created, people still hate him. It's easy to criticize peoples work, but receiving the hate and people talking shit about something you put a lot of love and care into hurts. I not a fan of the prequels, but I don't hate him for it. I mean the guy created this universe. I just wish people would look at the other side for once.
l ikr, people think george lucas ruined there childhood through the prequels, but never thought they he is the one that CREATED their childhood
Jean-Marie Le Pen U can subjectively and objectively not like the prequels and thats fine. i personally like the prequels the best. But i feel like even if u dont like them i think we can agree the prequels gave a good backstory to the characters. personally i think the prequel era is also the most fascinating era too. Politics huge war. Jedi and sith. i mean the clone wars was amazing in my opinion. Not to mention the world building it gave. the prequel movies and era made me feel like it was a galaxy far far away. The OT made me feel like it wasn’t that broad of a universe. but subjectively its your opinion. but ik a lot of people who like the OT movies better but still like the Prequel era more. to say he lost his magic is crazy in my opinion.
Jean-Marie Le Pen and its not a fact that he ruined the magic i think thats a bit harsh when he created all of this lmao.
The strangest thing about mainstream culture-Here's a guy who changed cinema more than any other person AND he created Star Wars. Yet the amount of anger generated around his prequels is insane! It is unreasonable the level of anger. Disappointment sure. Death threats?!?
The amount of genuine hate directed at this man who did so much is what got him away from movies-look at his demeanor when talks about the criticism-he's given a lot and people are so self-absorbed that "thanks for what you did" isn't in their vocabulary. Look at a vast majority of sucessful directors and you will see a few really awesome movies and many duds. He fits right in there.
Mainstream culture has become toxic.
George Lucas is a great man! Back in the 70s there was no giant commercial empire behind Star Wars, it was just a determined young filmmaker with a vision who took on all kinds of hardships to make it come true. Star Wars was LUCAS' IDEA and by the time of the prequels he had all the technical means to make his vision come full circle. He didn't rely on selfreference or nostalgia all the time like this hack Jar Jar Abrams, he continued his creative vision and instead of thanking him, the "fans" started shitting on him in the most despicable ways. You can see the difference between the two directors in this video, Lucas despite being a multimillionaire now is still a humble guy, Abrams is totally fake and unlikeable. Lucas made millions of children and adults alike happy with Star Wars, Abrams simply milks the sentiments of ungrateful fans with his tasteless rehash called "The Force Awakens".
I like the prequels, maybe more than the originals.
+RIGGY WALLCARD
how old are u 15?
+RIGGY WALLCARD nice bait.
I respect you. I love the prequels but not as much as I love the originals. Still love the prequels though
Get the fuck out of here
it's a shame fellow star wars fans are like ungrateful children. disrespect George Lucas knowing if it had not been for him there would be no star wars. but you gotta expect nothing less from people. that humans most of the time
also i welcome feeble minded comments i cannot wait to banned anyone one who has nothing good to say.
+Braxton Bynote I so agree with you.. For the last ten years i have been disproving everyone's argument that the prequels are bad films.. turning their opinions around.. now TFA has come out the whole prequel argument has been uprooted again and now we won't hear the end of it.
In my eyes the prequels have a few flaws here and there, but every film does, but should we care? No.. Why? Because its Star Wars, and its beautiful and wondrous and magical and special. If you don't like the prequels, then you aren't a real star wars fan in my eyes.
+ibanezman04 Yeah, I never understood the hatred for them. Why do people not just enjoy the prequels for what they are rather than nit picking every little thing?
***** You know, I've come to realize as an actor that one of the hardest things anyone can do is make A GOOD MOVIE. Until you're in that industry, most will never realize that.
***** I do not get the dislike for Jar Jar either. . . . and Midi-chlorian's do not take away from the force's nature, just as such with science and philosophy. Philosophy is the mother of science and science builds upon the foundation of philosophy. From what is stated about them, MC's come out of the force. They do not produce it. Their only purpose is concerned only as a conduit and or communicator of the force's potential, but the force itself is the root while an MC is like a tree branch. People want answers to their questions, but once gotten are not satisfied with and afraid to face what they are received. I am not disparaging anyone religion, but you tell someone the more probable outcome of death is nothing and they want golden streets in the clouds.
I LOVE EVERY SINGLE MOVIE HE MADE FROM STAR WARS FUCK THE HATERS! I WISH LUCAS MADE TEN MORE STAR WARS MOVIES IT CRUSHES MY HEART THAT HE IS DONE WITH THEM SMH. LITTLE DID HE KNOW THE NEW GENERATION OF MILLENNIUMS LIKE MYSELF WOULD NOT GIVE A SINGLE FUCK ABOUT WHAT CRITICS SAY AND THAT WE AS EVOLVED PEOPLE WOULD ENJOY THE FUCK OUT OF THE CGI AND EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE PREQUELS I NEVER WATCHED STAR WARS UNTIL LAST WEEK AND I STARTED FROM THE NUMERICAL ORDER WOW AM I FASCINATED
Speak for yourself, not for us.
Quite original and mature.
You know it's possible to convey your opinions seriously without using all caps, right?
Was George Lucas warning us?
"What happened to Vader's grandchildren"
"Star Wars is more than just about space ships"
"I don't want the force to become muddled"
He was.
I just saw Force Awakens on the 24th, and I started to notice something and began thinking about the prequels. I kept an eye out for these things in the movie, and it came to me. Most complaints about the prequels are bull crap. Many things that happen in the prequels happen pretty commonly in Episode 7. Yet, 7 is loved, and the prequels get shit on. There is full blown double standard going on here.
illuminism Or you are blinded by hypocritical fanboy bs. I am well aware of what the complaints are, and I noticed that I can complain about the same shit in Force Awakens. Don't tell me I'm ignorant simply out of disagreement.
I have watched episodes 1-6 hundreds of times each, and I can tell you there is emotion. Obi Wan constantly expresses frustration with Anakin for not doing what he's told. Obi Wan cries as Qui Gonn, who was pretty much a father figure, dies in his arms. Qui Gonn is annoyed at the Council for being sticklers for the rules. Viceroy Gunray and his other heads of the Trade Fed. show a timid fear of the Jedi and Sidious. Anakin is a kid with talents, a kind heart, but resentment to the fact that he is a slave. Shmee is a caring and loving mother. Padme, while in disguise, openly protests Qui Gonn's choices with pessimism. Anakin has a fit of rage over his mother's death. Anakin constantly struggles with fear and ultimately gives in to it converting to the dark side. Order 66 and how Yoda feels the death of all the Jedi despite being even millions of light years away. Obi Wan breaks down in front of Anakin because of what he did. Obi Wan cannot bear to watch Anakin burn. He walks away from him with a look of grief and internal defeat as if he failed as a teacher, and it cost the lives of thousands. Nothing of importance happens? So then tell me, How was Palpatine able to usurp the Republic and consolidate power to himself? Why was Yoda truly considered to be the wisest in the Force (hint hint: only guy who could absorb Force lightning), How did Luke and Leia and their existence successfully escape their father? How were the Jedi exterminated? What were the Clone Wars? How did Anakin get the scars that made the Vader suit necessary? I guess we will never know.
In Luke's and Obi Wan's initial conversation in his house, Obi Wan mentions almost all of these things: "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the old Republic, before the dark times, before the empire. A young Jedi named Darth Vader who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil helped the empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. He betrayed and murdered your father. Now, the Jedi are all but extinct." That's a shit ton of critical history to go over: a civil war, a democracy converted into a dictatorship, the fall of a pivotal individual, and the consequences of said fall most notably the galactic extermination of the galaxy's most famous religious order.
Now onto complaints I was referring to. People complain about unnecessary exposition and cringe-worthy dialogue in the prequels, but I began to notice that happening quite a few times in Force Awakens. "It's Them. It's the resistance." "That's why I left. I knew it'd drive you crazy." And the conversation between Han and Leia about who's going to take responsibility for Ben's fall, "It's my fault. No it's my fault. No I sent him to Luke; that's when I lost him to the dark side. There's still good in him. You can save him. How? Luke's a Jedi; you're his father." That's paraphrasing, but there you go. The important thing? I don't condemn a movie simply for cheesy dialogue.
The Force Awakens sucked though
George Lucas wanted to make the prequels feel different than the originals. I agree with him on this. I really enjoy Episode I and Episode III.
@Akira Toriyama Episode 1 was great
2 and 3=bae
Episode II is great too.
“I am dedicating the majority of my wealth to improving education,” Lucas wrote in his pledge letter. “It is the key to the survival of the human race. We have to plan for our collective future - and the first step begins with the social, emotional, and intellectual tools we provide to our children. As humans, our greatest tool for survival is our ability to think and to adapt - as educators, storytellers, and communicators our responsibility is to continue to do so.”
Yeah, what an asshole. /sarcasm
Of all the awesome characters in the entire saga, he chooses Jar Jar Binks...
He's doing it on purpose to piss people off
+Ezequiel Perez He's just trolling the haters
+Ezequiel Perez Jar Jar rocks! (I really mean that.)
+Ezequiel Perez He's just taking the piss.
Cannon Productions Actually, Jar Jar does kinda rock. Except when he became a senator. Then he was just another creature in the background.
Jar Jar is rumored to be a more powerful Sith than the Emperor...
George we need you back 😭😭 I always loved the prequels
JJ Abrams thanks George Lucas for making our childhood better. I wonder if he would now apologize for ruining our childhood. Also, Lucas should get an Oscar for everything he's done.
That whole sentence was contradictory
Cant believe what its come to. Shouldve never sold it. Hes right, its not about ships and impressive sights, its much more and disney stomped it to death. The prequels are a million times better than anything thats come out since ep 3
rogue one was ok
I feel so sorry for George Lucas sometimes, constantly having jerks who don't know anything about movie creativity always telling him what to do.
Prequel haters are all just a bunch of mindless drones who regurgitate other people's opinions.
Not really, thats like saying Last airbender haters are just regurgitating others opinions, just because an overwhelming majority of people share the same opinion does not mean its not informed. Honestly, think about it, do you honestly believe that people who watched the prequels, end up loving them, and say well everyone else hates them so ill hate em too, or that someone who has never seen the prequels all of a sudden hate the prequels for no reason? no thats ludicrous. So you feel there are no credible criticism towards the prequels? Like at all? Not the dialogue in the second? Not the acting.. Also in the second, the line deliveries from Hayden in partciular. Not the mundane plot in both the first and second? Not the pacing? Also in the first and second, the third one i really enjoyed however.
The prequels were not as good as the original trilogy but they were still far better than most movies that come out, especially during the early 2000's. The WORST Star Wars film is still better than the BEST Matrix film or any other big blockbuster sci fi film you may care to name. Since the prequel films have Star Wars in the title they are held to higher standards than other films. Those movies catch way to much flack for simply not being as good as the original trilogy. Every single one of the prequel movies have great moments in them, bad acting and all. And yes, I think many prequel haters are on a band wagon. I read their stupid fucking comments almost every single day on anything Star Wars related I click on, they all sound like a bunch of drones telling unoriginal Jar Jar jokes and repeating RedLetterMedia.
Please. I formed my opinion of Phantom Menace in-person sitting in a crowded theater on opening night fully expecting to watch a film befitting of the saga called STAR WARS. My disappointment and disillusionment in George Lucas started that night and has always been very real and personal to me. I will remember forever seeing Jar Jar Binks for the first time and wondering how Lucas could piss all over his own creation and our loyal fandom like that. You had to have lived it and been there to have any real perspective on it. Opening night the crowd walked in like we were in for the night of our lives and we walked out like we were leaving a funeral. Your remark while well intentioned is actually profoundly ignorant. Peace.
+Robert J. Holtz His point stands, you filthy OT drone
+Danglyparts His point does NOT stand. Flinging insults at strangers only diminishes your credibility and underscores your presumptuousness.
George Lucas seams like a pretty cool guy, I would happily sit down with a beer and talk about star wars with him
This man seriously has no idea why people got mad. No idea.
It's his creation. His art. You dont have to like it.
+96NightRider96 I'm just saying he has no idea why people dont like some of his stuff. he thinks people hate good work. weird.
+Jason McCann He was probably joking about that statement. Just like he joked about being Jar Jar out of all of the Star Wars characters.
+Mike no he thinks he should be able to make whatever he wants without criticism because it's "his." Any beginner's writing book will tell you that is the road to disaster. Once you don't care about moving the audience, you're done.
+Jason McCann people that vehemently defend Lucas are just hipsters that know little about his shitty writing and directing
George you are my hero! And I love the prequels!
I love ep 1,2,3 Haters are going to hate
It's been 10 years get over the prequels.
Yoda Do or do not, there is no try.
Only a sith deals in absolutes
It's been 15 years for now so get over with it
Man, this is breaking my heart. The man that made my childhood saying that. Please come back and show Disney what the word "innovation" means
Please come back Lucas we need you
I might be one of the few, but I adored the prequels. Of course I grew up on them, but the universe felt so alive... it felt like it worked with the Original Trilogy as far as the universe went. The Disney films, primarily the Sequel Trilogy, feels like a fan-film in both quality, writing and directing/acting.
George Lucas-directed movies:
▪THX 1138 (1971)
▪American Graffiti (1973)
▪Star Wars (1977)
▪Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
▪Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)
▪Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
I have so much respect for George I can't even put it to words
JJ Abrams ruined Star Wars I will fight anybody on this.
@Akira Toriyama Pretty sure youd make something far better than J.J mister Toryiama
@Akira Toriyama He doesn't need to. That the Force Awakens sucked is axiomatic
@Jean-Marie Le Pen Lol have you seen Rise of Skywalker
Jean-Marie Le Pen did you present and argument
Cathleen Kennedy did
In retrospect, this just makes me sad.
I like all 8 live action Star Wars movies (that includes Rogue One). I must be stupid.
Na, you’re just a loyal fan
Poor guy, we, the community bullied him for too long...
He did so much with what was possible, and man did some of the best hours of cinema come out of it.
Thank you George
Thank you George Lucas for bringing us the world of star wars. Without Star wars, there would never be space battles, lightsabers and jedi. You are the greatest character in the Star Wars Universe. I do question some things you've done but it doesn't matter. I'm sorry people have may treated you badly. The world today is ungrateful and do not realize what you have brought into this world. I wish people could respect the fact that you gave them more star wars films. You expanded the universe even more! Even if Disney continues your legacy without you, your stories are always true. Everything you make in star wars in canon, because you are our father. I will always follow your stories in the star wars universe, no matter what. Don't listen to the "fans" that talk down on you. Stand up! Focus on be a better film maker in the future! We love you George Lucas! Thank you! Good luck in the future!.
To all the star wars fanboys out there, seriously, give the man a break! dammit, he made star wars, appreciate that! you ungrateful little losers.
Yes. THANK YOU DIE HARD FANS of STAR WARS. You're the reason GEORGE sold his baby to DISNEY. Bittersweet indeed. On the other hand GEORGE LUCAS is SET FOR LIFE and the movies he will make POST STAR WARS will be worth alot more. Salute to you sir
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Red Tails and Strange Magic sure set the world on fire.
+Keith King he's been set for life ever since his merchandising agreement with 20th Century Fox
***** RIGHT!!! LUCAS WINS!! Go JAR JAR!! LOL
Good. Maybe one day, this special edition nonsense will finally end.
@@hawkleytomunculus228 Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Red Tails are great underrated movies.
It seems like a mistake for George Lucas to dismiss the opinions of fans, even the unreasonable ones. Fans support the franchise financially, plus invest their time and energy. What's wrong with adapting to changing times? Many of us were kids when we first loved Star Wars, but we're adults now. We want a movie geared for adults, yet reminds us of our childhoods.
+RxRamon Well the good thing about the original Star Wars, was that it appealed to everyone! We need more movies like that.
+Michael Ricketson
It did not. Many people absolutely hated it, including parts of the cast.
Taxtro I mean that it appealed to both children and adults.
Yes, that would be the "smart" thing to do, but George has stated that he only makes movies for himself and no one else, and he won't sacrifice his own vision for anyone because he wants it to be considered, his own art. Think of it like a painter. There are artists that will make works that people pay them to make simply to make money (Disney), then there's artists that make art simply for the sake of making art (George). Although I would love to see a more adult Lucas star wars movie, I completely respect him for making the movies that HE wants to make.
RxRamon Oh yeah, cos the last real Disney movies were so much more for adults. Not these prequels about a cunning politician conducting a Holocaust, against a backdrop of dark music and red matt paintings and people burning in lava.
i lost it when he said jar jar! hahaha its like his way of saying F*** the haters.
Fuck all the haters, George Lucas is amazing, he created something new and exciting, If I could meet George Lucas in real life I would seriously hug the man and thank him for making my childhood awesome!
Lol fans ruined George's reputation to the closed minded but we all know he is the man, the myth, the legend!
George Lucas: «im curious that the force doesnt get muddled in to a bunch of garbleegook»
Rian Johnson: here you have Rey and Kylo having a force Skype call
Are you kidding me? From what I've seen Lucas has had nothing but 100% creative control over most if not all the star wars movies. He's completely unrestrained, and that's largely why the prequels came out the way they did.
+The Ponderer You mean they came out good, right?
Not the word I'd use.
+The Ponderer I think you missed the point. He's saying he got experimental with the prequels, which is 100% true, he was pioneering new ways of film making, and people didn't like it, it was too different and experimental. Was it a mistake? Yes. And though I really don't like those prequel movies very much, I do love people that aren't afraid to fail and try to do new things. That is, after all, how he made Star Wars in the first place.
Pork Woofles It wasn't a mistake. Kubrick didn't make 2001 for you, he made it to express himself. It's only a mistake if he made it like you would've wanted it.
***** You misinterpret what I say. I mean, it was a mistake in terms of it's critical failure. If he wanted critical success, then it was a mistake for exactly the reasons he himself states in the video.
People don't want experimental, they want the same old, and that is exactly what we're all about to be served up with The Force Awakens.
This is precisely why he's going back to small, experimental film making.
I LOVE THE PREQUELS, MR. LUCAS. They were the first star wars movies i saw, and i fell in love with anakin (but 3 broke my heart, no spoilers here). I was devastated when i heard Disney bought it, because whenever they get their hands on something (i.e. club Penguin) they tend to go for the hype and everything becomes superficial. I'm still kind of am on the fence about seeing the new one, because it won't have George's touch.
I wish some fans would stop complaining so much. I blame them if star wars is ruined with the "new" film. i still see episode 3 as the last true star wars film. This new one is a spin off in my mind.
youre just as bad as a prequel hater who won't acknowledge the new films. The SW fanbase just sucks and people like you are the problem
+96NightRider96 agree. If it isn't by Lucas then it will never be true canon. Also episode 3 was a good film, from the story perpective. The last battle and conclusion was one of the best of the 3 and connected right with episode 4. Except the 'noooooooooooooo' line that vader said. I just hope Disney doesn't screw up the timeline. I've already have some complaints about the force awakens but i'll see the movie first.
I do not like the prequels but i give so much respect to George for creating such an amazing universe and inspiring generations of filmmakers. I don't like how he is hated on. Yeah, I will NEVER like the special editions but that doesn't mean I will just hate on Mr. Lucas. He came up with the idea of Star Wars in the first place and It is awesome. I don't agree with his decisions with the prequels and I sure as hell don't agree with the special editions but I respect him. I am an Original Trilogy purist, ask anyone, I am. But I will not hate George because of 3 movies he made that were bad but I will rejoice in the 3 GOOD movies he has made.
( I know he didn't direct Empire and Jedi but he certainly took part in it.)
+The Sci-Fi Professor My feelings exactly. He's a very talented guy, a creative genius even. He just simply got caught up in the business and technology and forgot his roots as a storyteller when making those films.
Chris Esper agreed.
thank you so much Gorge for creating Star Wars, all of the six episodes were original, its amazing univers .... "may the force be with you"
He only did 4 Star Wars movies. Empire strikes back and return of the Jedi weren’t by him
George please direct a Star Wars film! :(
No one hates Star Wars more than Star Wars fans.
Experimenting is one thing. Jar Jar Binks, on the other hand, is another...
Jar jar is cancer m8
Yes. He's cool if you've endured a lobotomy.
But, Dr Jones, what if Jar Jar was supposed to a sith but George Lucas "couldn't experiment" and chickened out?
Yeah, I know...
+Henry Jones Jnr. As are ALIENS. Oh, sorry... EXTRA-DIMENSIONAL BEINGS.....
-_-
Thank you George Lucas for everything. You have brought such joy to everyone who loves Star Wars. Disney might own the license but we all know Star Wars will forever belong to you . . . thank you.
Lucas is the biggest troll alive xD
That Jar Jar Binks answer was the biggest fuck you to all prequel haters! That's why I love him...
People hating on George Lucas are nothing more than idiots who doesn´t like their own lifes so they piss on the man who without him Star Wars wouldn´t even exist, so they can feel that the have achieve something in life somehow, they feel that they know about film making, but guess what? you don't
Insted of cowardly keep bashing a genius like George Lucas on the internet to cowardly feel better with yourself for not taking risks at nothing, go and do something with your life, and inspire other people to keep doing what their love instead of hating on them, that takes more balls
@Jean-Marie Le Pen He CREATED STAR WARS.
Dear George Lucas. I have been raised with the prequels. These are the 1st star wars movies I have ever seen and for 10 years I didn't even knew the sequels existed. I did watch the sequels but only out of curiosity. I liked them but there is no way the sequels can come close to the prequels. I know that a lot of people criticize them and I have listened to their criticism as well as you did. My humble opinion is that the prequel haters are a bunch of ignorant morons claiming to know all about filmmaking but in reality they are a bunch of heartless bastards.
If I am ever going to rewatch star wars (like I did a couple month ago) I am going to rewatch the prequels. I can't go more honest that this. Thank you for this universe you have provide our imagination with and with all due respect.
FUCK the prequel haters.
Thank you.
George changed the landscape of film, and was a huge player in enabling us to all use digital video cameras so freely these days.
DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS. EPISODES 1,2,3,4,5, and 6 ARE ALL EQUALLY AMAZING MOVIES! They're all special imo :)
I’ve come to the conclusion that all people who hate the concept of midicorians are religious
What happen to skywalkers grandchildren.... let’s check the EU. But wait Disney deleted the EU! Now look where we are now!
I am proud to say i LOVE episode 1-2-3, and i can understand that not a lot of people are willing to go in-depth into politics philosophy and the seek of truth and good, but they were amazing! Brilliant!
Man, lots of opinions here on the Star Wars films. It wouldn't really have mattered who directed, who wrote, who produced, what the story was about, which actors were in it, etc concerning new Star Wars films like The Force Awakens because there would still be that group who are not happy with anything that is done.
Nobody hates Star Wars like a Star Wars fan.
Amen to that. I like both the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy (and I consider the prequels to be decent) but it seems I have to hide my like of the sequels because of how much backlash they've gotten online.
I mean, the sequels aren't perfect, but like you've said, it would have hardly mattered, because no matter how the new films would've turned out, there would still be backlash.
and now because of lack of experimentation 2 new star wars movies are hundreds of times worse then the prequels
George: I hope the force isn't mucked up
ME:WHAT ABOUT FUCKING MIDI-CHORIANS
Reluctant Reviews to me midichlorians kinda make sense in a way. but not all ways.
MikeMic productions Doesn't matter if they make sense. It takes away the mystery and wonder. It's the very definition of something that didn't need to be explained.
Josh Blanksby I don't think it takes out the mystery, it simply serves to add more mystery to Anakin. It adds more in fact. The idea is to say that the Jedi order in the prequels have a very firm idea of what the force is about etc, they're very studied and doctrinated, so much so that they misappropriate Anakin's midi count to be an indication of his abilities, leading to their downfall. And then 4-6 prove Yoda wrong, that it is not one's interest abilities by some midi count that define how good you are as a Jedi, it is your spirit and how genuine you are with the Force. That midi count thing simply serves to show that Anakin was conceived by the Force, and hence has an abnormally high midi count and so has a very strong inherent ability because of that. Otherwise the midi count doesn't make much difference to one's ability.
For anyone watching this, no, he wasn't just randomly trying to get people angry. He actually had plans with the films and was pressured into not taking them into that direction. One, quite possibly, was a great reveal of Jar Jar as a villain in Episosde II.
Thank You, George! May the Force be with you, always.
george lucas is the biggest troll in the history of mankind
Nope He meant that allright
Darth Vaders Grand Children. We were gonna have multiple Skywalker children. WTF DISNEY
sadly they tossed away most parts of his story treatmants
Hamlet once commented that if a man makes one mistake, then the world will hound him for that rather than looking at the great things he has done. George Lucas revolutionized the film industry and brought forth a cultural phenonamon.
I believe that the complaints about his recent work are born from ingratitude.
0:49 idk why but that was really sad, but the creator is 100% true here
We have all you whiny "original trilogy" fanatics who trash the prequels every chance you get to thank for George Lucas walking away from his own vision.
i love george lucas and jj abrams as they both made amazing movies and made loads of peoples childhood and lives better thank u you 2 are the best
Dear George Lucas, I just wanna say we love ya. despite all our difference between the creator and fans, after everything's said and done, we're very grateful, and thankful either way, for doing your best.
1)The problem with the prequels is that he went 20+ years not directing a film and thought he could pick up where he left off, and that he wouldnt be rusty. He was wrong. Art isnt like riding a bike. You cant pick up where you left off. Anyone will be rusty after 20+ years of not doing their craft. 2)Because of this same arrogance, he refused to listen to any criticism regarding A Phantom Menance which showed the 20+ years of rust all over it...and repeated his same mistake 2 times over. Not good.3)Lastly, when he created Star Wars 1977, he was feverantly passionate about the project. So zealout that he almost had a heart attack from the stress of trying to bring Star Wars into existence. But i dont believe he was passionate about the prequels. i think he did them because he got really tired of everyone bugging him to do it and he just wanted to get it over with already so people would get off his back about making eps I-III. imo, his biggest mistake was putting numbers on each of the original trilogy films. He enslaved himself to "having" to make eps I-III....instead of *wanting* to make the prequels once he felt passionate about the story. Or not doing them altogether and letting someone else make them at some point.
+TrOllinM4sTEr but i do hope he does direct films in the future. just films that arent based on anything he's already done. films that have nothing to do with Indiana Jones, Star Wars, American Grafitti, or THX. something new por favor. thx.
i love the prequels, and i think all of them are amazing. if the fans would just take themselves out of the equation and just watch the story, they'd understand. my friend, i hate to say this, but I'm not sure if the force is with you.
+TrOllinM4sTEr you are full of SHIT.
+96NightRider96 no, he's strong with the force. You on the otherhand have been corrupted. (btw, that mindnumbing advice to just watch anything and enjoy it is asking people to turn their brains off. a requirement for all transformers movies as well. dont insult our intelligence my friend.)
+TrOllinM4sTEr well I sort of agree the problems of the prequels were not so much the directing it was more so the writing and the fact that Lucas surrounded himself with people who did not know how to say no when he came out with a bad idea and he never had co writers helping either which is why most of phantom menace just doesn't make sense when you really look at it and why attack of the clones and revenge of the sith have such bad dialog.
am i the only one who has seen this all along. by fans hating his films, fans have shamed him and made him give up the vary films, that were his once life work, lucasfilms. everyone hated his prequels but do you even remember going to the phantom menace, i do there was applause in the beginning, and the end of the film in the movie theater. everyone enjoyed it, in fact i enjoyed all the prequels. at some point everyone just decided to hate it just because some goofy character, now it is all disneys franchise to do whatever. in my opinion this is not a cool thing. well whatever.. you know disneys eyeing startrek next. i cant believe it takes darth jar jar for people to like the star wars prequels again, so stupid people...
if it takes one character to ruin a franchise? then people are stupider than i thought. he wrote all of the movies, inspired a bunch of books, what the hell have you lousy nerds done with your lives other than sitting there complaining about a universe someone else created for you to enjoy, poser nerds stop ruining things or disney will turn everything to shit. they are like the borg, they keep assimilating franchises and ruining them.
JJ Abrams fake laugh and condescension of George Lucas makes me sick.
He shouldn't be depressed, we are still continuing his legacy, and despite him not owning it anymore, he still makes plenty of money and fame off of it. He should be happy that all of us get to share what he revolutionized... After all, he didn't really make the Empire Strikes Back or Return of The Jedi movies either. He was involved, but didn't create the script. He needs to realize that perfection comes from a team, not one individual. But he should be proud that he was the one to start it.
One of the most brilliant mids in the Universe... So sad. It's people like him who make experimental films that push us forward... And people are too used to what they know to really appreciate it.
There's more to it than spaceships. Yet in the prequels every room had large windows to show a million CG spaceships zooming by in the background every other second. lol
Cartoony CG, wooden acting and bad writing were all the focus of the prequel movies. He kept shoving effects everywhere. Every scene had to have some effect in the background. It was distracting.
If you thought that dialogue about sand was good writing. You're the idiot, lol.BTW, who's the main hero of the prequels? ObiWan? Anakin? It's hard to tell. That's what happens when you hand over the entire reigns of the franchise to Lucas. He doesn't allow for any outside input or collaboration like he did with the original films.
The original three SW films have beloved characters. They were good friends and you felt that chemistry between them. We enjoyed going on a journey with them.
It doesn't even compare. The dialogue in the prequels is absolutely horrendous. It's embarrassing on a level I still can't believe. It's cringe worthy. I can't believe it was approved by anyone with the exceptions of Ewan Mcgregor and Ian Mcdiarmid.
It basically is about spaceships because in almost every scene some ship is flying by in the background. We get it. You can do anything with CG. That doesn't mean we need to see an effect every second. Focus on characters and story.
Cis Droid Lucas himself didn't like how TPM turned out. Did you ever see the making of TPM on the DVD? When they watch the near complete version of the film Lucas realizes he put too much in the film. The flow of the film is all wrong. They come to the conclusion that it's too late to fix it now.
I can agree with that. It's rare someone responds like you just did on the Internet. It's not always fun arguing back and forth on the Internet.
It's all good.
I think the prequels are just as good as the first trilogy. They are just different.
So do I.
min 1:00 "Dont like that (formulaic movies) never did, wanna go back to experimental film making"
Lucas, what a fu%$in LEGEND!!!! George Lucas is one of the most amazing film makers EVER!!!
0:49 its kind of ironic because that's still how people complain about the sequels (specifically the Last Jedi) they get mad because a certain character isn't acting the way the fans want him to and they can't experiment with new ideas.
True
