Several years ago I was working in food service. A kid walked into the establishment with a shirt that said RED ZONE on it and I thought "Ah. Coleman Francis fan." and then a second later I mentally slapped myself. It was some sort of basketball thing, the kid would have had no reason to know the name Coleman Francis and this show has poisoned my mind.
I wish I would have read this warning many, many back slaps, awkward coughs, blind drink reaches, and nose shots ago. However, a late PSA is better than no PSA at all.
Coleman Francis' death was as dark and murky as his films: While officially, his death is listed as arteriosclerosis, according to co-producer Anthony Cardoza, he was found one day dead in the back of a station wagon, with a plastic bag around his head and a tube going into his throat (or around his neck, Cardoza never bothered to find out which because they were on the outs at the time.)
This is the first time that I have no no idea what to say to the Uploaders. You know I Love guys! Like Love Loving Love but this...THIS MOVIE IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF FRAME FILLED ART, OF ALL TIME!!!! If that made a half cent and a rolled cigarette. Then you got more out of this than I. That's great but for me I would have said, 'Stick around for Carradine's song'. I think it was the best part of the movie! Gotta love John. Thanks for the upload!!
This is actually the better of the three Coleman Francis films Mike and the Bots tackled. That doesn’t say much (it’s still really bad) but for better or worse it is! :B

Observer here. Over the past couple of Earth months, we have noticed many fresh postings of classic MST3K episodes, some of which feature Observer. Good to see the adventures of Joel, Mike, Cambot, Gypsy, Tom Servo and Crow, and their foes (including Observer) reaching new fans. Keep up the good work, MST3K archivists, and make sure much more Observer re-appears on this YouThing. Now, Pearl and Bobo want me to send the next one! (Sound effect). 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This movie EASILY hits all three requirements of a movie that's difficult to watch. 1) It's dull. 2) It's depressing. 3) It's LOW budget. It really seems like it was intended to be an unpleasant viewing experience in every way. MST3K handles it perfectly.
I've considered this topic before, and I think that I've identified some qualities that are endemic to most bad movies featured on MST3K 1. Hot gobs of driving - at least one or more scene is dragged out with mundane activities like extended phone conversations, people entering and leaving rooms, parking, and of course driving 2. Liturgical dance - an out of place song and/or dance routine stops the movie dead for at least three to five minutes, usually featuring pretty girls 3. Sumptuous sets - a majority of the movie takes place in a single depressing location, like an empty stretch of arid scrub land or a poorly light living room. 4. Stock mileage - archive and file footage is frequently used, usually in place of actual establishing shots 5. Timing... is... everything - most scenes are incredibly static, shot from one angle, and often without much thought put into blocking. Odd choices in line delivery that are usually made more noticeable by poor ADR.... a soundtrack with only one song....... and.... dialogue....that just.... sort of.... peters out.

@@rickrussell I would say that these choices are made with contempt for the audience, so much as contempt for the actors. And production staff. And editors. And set designers.
