The Honda ADV 350 or Honda Forza 350? Let us know in the comments!

Had mine since March and it’s fantastic. I’m also 5’6” in height and no problem out on the road, my only difficulty when I first got it was manoeuvring round tight space in my back garden as much larger than my old 125. I prefer it to the Forza as I feel it’s more capable of rough ground, as you say not for green laning but just for roads in poor condition. I was torn what to buy but was influenced by a friend having an X-ADV; got full licence but don’t want anything physically larger. Also influenced by every UA-cam review being positive. My onboard video camera is on the mirror and I was disappointed with my filming compared with rack mounted one on old scooter so I swapped foe one with image stabilisation. As the name of my channel suggests I’m happy on country roads than motorway riding and this scooter is more than adequate for my needs. Last few videos are the ones taken from my ADV

Biggest issue was changing insurance over as IT system went down for about 5 days at Motorcycle Direct so I was forced to cancel and buy a whole year’s cover with a different company. To rub salt in the wound they refused to refund a fair proportion of cover. One to avoid

Thanks for the video, here are my random thoughts after owning one for over 3 months and having done some road trips covering rural, B and small A country roads fully loaded with pillion and top box.
Note i have no real knowledge of mid sized scooters so these are opinions based on years of experience with sport bikes and supernakeds.
My wife love's this form of transport and is wanting to do more having lost interest in the bikes i have owned for some time.
Fuel consumption on a run going with the flow of traffic is around 85 mpg (i think the supermarket E5 higher octane fuel helps both economy and drive when fully loaded).
The handling is a stand out feature - lots of ground clearance and good fun through the bends - just watch out for bumps mid bend.
Front brake seems to split opinion, for me it is just adequate and i may upgrade the pads in time.
Suspension is clearly on the firm side particularly at the rear this is normal to what i am familiar with but i'm sure experienced scooter riders may complain, for me the compromises scooters have to make at the rear with all that weight of the engine makes this an acceptable compromise particularly with the gains in handling.
Top box and storage are a revelation after years of strapping stuff on, I particularly love the smart top box that locks itself when your away from the bike, its expensive and big but i'm so glad i went for it as opposed to the heated grips that are also expensive and beautifully integrated but ultimately should be warmer.
The screen causes turbulence for my head position at any height but is better at its lowest setting it's another area that i will look into once the aftermarket parts get going, from memory the Forza was miles better for having a smooth air flow and also offering better general protection.
The bike is seriously substantial with as good a build / components that you could hope for the price. The bike has road presence that encourages bikers to nod and deters other road users from trying to overtake you.
Overall i feel this was money well spent and i could not realistically have hoped for a better machine, the ADV is well built, fun at legal speeds and just makes me want to ride - many people seem to like mid sized scooters for town work, personally i find this style of machine a little large for that use and prefer exploring the countryside.
Hope this helps anyone considering one.

    • @Tim955w
      @Tim955w 2 роки тому +2

@@romanslejska766 I am prety sure that the ADV has noticeably more room, i also felt that my bum was closer to the handlebars, i just kept wanting to sit further back. Others have also commented about the extra room the ADV has - mind you the weather protection is not as good on the ADV. Hope this helps.

Definitely helped! May get this over the burg 400, especially since even though it's 50 ccs less the engine tuning sounds like it exceeds the 400 in performance even at higher speeds!

Just did the Mae Hong Son loop 2 weeks ago on this ADV350. I can testify this is an awesome bike. Power is more than sufficient, engine is smooth. The underseat carriage is amazing. Braking is adequate. Just change to sinister pads if you require more power.
One only complain. The suspension does take its toil on your back after about an hr on the road thou. It’s quite hard.
All in all it’s an awesome bike.

@Simon Teo I'm Glad you commented. For some time I was bouncing back and forth between choosing the Forza 350 or something like the Versys x300 based on *wants vs *needs. I *want a little adventure and back-roads that can be mucky here and there - like Mae Sot back road to CM. But I have intermittent health considerations (and age related response times I think) that make the ease of automatics and also the moderate size of 300/350 probably safer - maybe a *need in the not-so-distant future.
To the point then; I started to get excited about ADV 350, but after this review I am wondering how it will handle some of the intermittent mucky stuff. I had already thought of changing up the tires to a slightly bigger bite keeping in mind effect on the ride on pavement. Quite comfortable on my NMax(s) going back and forth CM to Maha Sarakham strictly highway but wanting a little more casual and back road 'ish trips.
      Any experience with mud/dirt stretches?
      Anyone?Thanks.

Great review about a super bike mate! I have a Honda Forza 350, which after 14 months of ownership, I highly rate. I wouldn't swop the Forza for the ADC because I love the electric screen, which is so useful, also I like analogue dials. I think both models are crying out for 'standard' heated grips and a larger fuel tank. Both models (and also the Honda SH350i) share the lovely 330cc engine, which I think is an absolute gem. It is such an improvement on the 279cc engine that it replaced (my previous bike was a SH300i), with better mid-range performance and super economy. On a run, I can get over an indicated 85mpg, which some 125cc machines would struggle to achieve. At the end of the day, both the ADV and Forza are great bikes, with the former being more stylish and the latter more practical. Whichever model you choose, you will not be disappointed and be surprised what a great all-rounder these bikes are. They will handle a long run with ease and are a great commuter. I've held a full motorcycle licence for over 44 years (silly old fart) and the Honda Forza 350 is one of the best bikes I've owned!

"Larger fuel tank"? For what. You can make 300km with just one tank.
Electric screen seems to be great but in reality it shakes and make so terrible noise - this part definitelly needs improvement.

    • @pompey174
      @pompey174 2 роки тому +2

@@podunkman2709 'larger fuel tank'' for a longer range. I think a 15 Ltr tank would make a good improvement in range. I have not found the issues with the electric screen you mention. I ride with mine in the lower position, most of the time, but raise it to reduce wind blast or if it's raining. I have not experienced the shakes or 'terrible noise' on my bike, there is obviously a difference in the ride when the screen is up, but nothing to really complain about. It might be worth checking your screen is fully secure and the fixings are tight.

I too had an SH350 and thought the engine superbly smooth. I then went for the Forza 750 which turned out too heavy for me at advanced years. I've now ordered a Forza 350, (rather than going back to the SH), as I think it may cruise at high speeds better, aerodynamically.

Picked up my grey one on Saturday, first ADV 350 in southern Ireland.
Rode it 250kms home, motorway and back roads.
Don't find the suspension that bad on Irish (off)roads and I am coming from a newish GS 1200.
Have to watch power when overtaking but other than that she is excellent.
Cruises no problem at 120kms and so versatile and light weight for around town.
Will not be venturing too far off road. Hope the seat breaks in a little 🪑

Bought mine 2 weeks ago and agree with your review, especially the front brake, not a real problem just feel it could be a bit better. I’m 5’10 and the bike seems a bit tall to get on and off but starting to adjust to that, it could be that I’m 70 years old also and a bit stiff at times. Watch the jokes boys!😅 one issue I don’t hear a lot about is the rear fender, it does not provide protection for the passenger from mud being slung up while raining, or cow manure for that matter, don’t ask, that’s an issue that must be fixed on my bike or my wife will have my neck!

The ADV150 is all we get in the United States but it’s light and nimble, gets 85MPG, costs $4200 and does 65 mph. Not sure the ADV350 is worth it at double the price, less MPG and of course heavier

it's worth it man... think about it, more stable and more power. 6mph is good for around town. But get on the freeway hell noo

i've owned both - the 150 is like a child's toy compared to the 350

Was looking forward to this scooter till you told the size of the gas tank 11 liters that is way to small for a scooter that size, WHY DOSE HONDA KEEP PUTTING SUCH SMALL GAS TANKS ON THER BIKES. I was already to get the NC 750 till seen the small gas tank on it, where is there head at, do they only want to sell to short range riders who like to stay close to gas stations and not hit the roads less traveled

11.7 liters is a lot. There's no reason to carry more fuel - more weight, bigger consumption. Good that producers do not allow you and others burn fuel without any sense.
