Hello Architect Ed and to your viewers. It's a modern glass paint that is colorless, so yun view and sunlgiht as hindi affected, but na boblock yun heat and UV. Kaya comfortable sa bahay and energy savings pa. #nanocoatantiheatsolution

Thanks for sharing sir. Yes, tempered glass is very expensive and if it exposed to the direct sun your house will quickly heat up just as your car would. Nevertheless, I wouldn't consider decorative blocks as an alternative because they still allow for direct light penetration when the sun is at a low angle and also allow insects into the home as well. I would consider them as well as the screening you mentioned suitable for outdoor living spaces and for more commercial building applications as was pictured in your video. I consider proper shading the number one consideration for tropical design with ventilation as number two. The standard hip roof with large overhangs should instituted as code for residential here in the Philippines due to the fact that energy demand is outpacing supply with it's growing population. It's hard to fathom why so many architects and builders choose to design buildings more suitable to temperate latitudes where heat gain in the winter is often advantages.
Nice share arki.. perforated metal sheets or ss screen is better not the commercially available sa home depo or hardware.. used one ss screen purchased sa binondo..nice one in a wood frame... more power sir.
Thank you so much for always giving us an option Kung San papasok sa budget na maganda na mura pa po.Napaka informative Ng mag videos.
My opinion only. No protection sa home invasion 2. Papasukin ng ulan (wide overhang will lessen exposure) 3. Sisirain at papasukin ng small animals like rats 4. Needs monthly washing to remove dust and oil (depende saan ang bahay. Puede 4x a year lng) VENT BLOCKS 1. Papasukin ng ulan bahay (a wide overhang will only lessen exxposure) 2. Pasukan ng insects, rats or kittens 3. Easier for dust to enter house interior 4. Mas mahirap linisin. Needs periodic cleaning (depended saan house mo, if you live near or far a busy road)
For the picture window glass, to minimize heat transfer, curtain /blinds lang ang solution dyan + AC. Comfort and aesthetics achieved. Bottom line, gastusan mo talaga kung gusto mo ma achieved ang comfort and aesthetics as well. Pero kung nagtitipid ka aesthetics and comfort may be sacrificed. Architecture means beauty and comfort. Cost factor considered but normally less weight compared to elegance and grandeur. ( my observatiion)
Thanks for another very informative video, Architect Ed. On the topic of windows, bakit hindi popular and single hung at double hung windows dito sa Pinas? Napaka common kasi sa US ng ganun. Meron ba gumagawa ng single or double hung windows dito sa atin? Thanks.
Di na need yong magarang bahay thats not really important as I age..still raising money God willing..
Ang solution is to use double pane insulated tempered oper glass on thermal break aluminum frame. Provision for operable sliding glass portion, there are available product that you can slide the whole glass wall but very expensive. Decorative ventilation blocks let the air and sunlight in but not rain.
Good day architect Ed! New subs here, salamat at nka nuod ako ng isa sa hinahanap ko. Thanks so much for ur good and informative contents. Very nice and informative presentation! But I think these two materials are not an alternative to glass because of one very obvious reason: protection from natural elements like rain, especially if there's typhoon. These two materials will be most effective when combined with glass enclosure as per the references that you've shown in your video. Cheers!😄
There are even vent blocks na kaya palamagin(slightly) yung hangin na tumatagos sa kaniya. Kaya maganda if you can have it face the winds in the summer.

Kapag may modification ba sa master plan during consyruction, may bayad pa ba yun, like: switching of door and window from right to left, closing a window in one, opening another in another, opening an extra door, increase the ceiling height, increase the width ng door.
