  • A fire damaged the eclectic blend of steel and reinforced concrete structures in the old Jack Frost Sugar facility in Philadelphia. The first demolition contractor stripped the building and had problems when another blaster failed to fell an isolated portion of the structure. Controlled Demolition, Inc. (CDI) of Phoenix, Maryland, USA (acting as the Explosives Subcontractor for LVI Demolition of Orlando, Florida) performs the preparation for and explosives felling of the remaining fire-damaged, 6-story industrial complex along with the 250-ft Boiler Building and a 175-ft radial brick chimney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 2, 1997.
