Turn the gribgrub to the number sixteen position, then grab the mumfus and press it delicately inward, even if it is fully opaque, but not if it is 30% opaque or less. Great! Now you're ready to take a firm hold of the oingy boingy and beat the devil out of it. You only get one shot at this because if you blow it, you'll flood the engine. Next we're going to place it firmly on the ground. If you place it un-firmly on the ground you'll flood the engine. At this point you'll want to take a look at your crank bus. Is it fully depressed? If it is, you're gonna want to get a counselor for it. A depressed crank bus will flood your engine.
The reason there are nearly 250,000 views for this is because Still blowers don't start worth a darn.
Stihl is the most non user friendly blower to ever hit the market, all models.
Do tell
Glad I found this. Im visiting my father in law and he had one of these.....i wanted to make sure i didnt flood the engine and piss him off😅
THANK YOU I SPENT HOURS
Thank you. I used a backpack leaf blower about 20 years ago, daily. But I seem to have forgotten everything. Now I’m off to use the hand held blower we’ve owned for a few years, but I never bothered to relearn.
My dad and I both have BG55s they are great realible blowers. Stihl quallity!
Thanks, it worked. Been trying to start STIHL blower for a week. It was pull number 29 before it began to want to start. I also took off air cleaner while trying to start. It is running great now
Aqua
Do you leave the air cleaner off while running?
well said guys,,thankyou for sharing,,,, excellent
Al I keep hearing you will flood your engine.👏👏👏
What you did not show is that you have to pull the starter rope 6 or 8 times until it actually starts when it`s cold - I own many Stihl products and they ALL start hard when they are cold!
This video was very helpful. Thank you!
We're glad it was useful, Leslie!
This is great 🤣
"How to waste four minutes talking about things that have nothing to do with starting a blower"
Lmao right. I’m trying to work not waste time 😭
@@evelyndzurick2874 LMAO hoe do you not know how to start a blower. I'm only watching just because I saw the BR 2OO blower.
My Stihl blower LK 45 won't charge/ can't keep a charge?
Hi Carol, Thank you for your comment. We recommend that you reach out to STIHL Customer Service is open M-F 8am-7pm ET. You can reach us via email at www.stihlusa.com/information/corporate/contact-us/.
Regular gas or mixed?
Mixed, of course. 50:1.
2.6 ounces of oil to one gallon of gasoline. And use NON ETHANOL gas!!
Sad only us two lonely comments ...
If you’re here, you have the same buyer’s remorse as I do.
After a hard working day, having glasses of water on rocking chairs? ? ?
Why the hell can't you simply label the choke switch positions to say 'Choke ' and 'Run', instead of using goofy hieroglyphs that mean nothing to anybody born on this planet? If you're concerned that people in non-English speaking countries won't be able to figure out what the word 'Run' means then those people probably shouldn't be operating gas-powered equipment anyway.
I agree 100%. Run / Start .....how difficult is that.
Every Stihl product I own, blower, chain saw and weedeater are the most difficult pieces of equipment I own to start. A continual problem. I will never own another piece of Stihl equipment.
If you don't know basic 'choke' and 'run' symbols you shouldn't be using a leafblower
1 symbolises the choke being shut & engaged, 1 is open & disengaged. Very basic knowledge, learn your basics.
Amen Krotty Kid!!! Couldn’t agree more.
Pll
I’ve tried several times still won’t run properly last time I’ll own this brand
Operator error.

The only thing reliable about a Stihl is that it won't start
you forgot that they also make it complicated.
Alb Ellis and Herbert I agree! High priced pieces of junk, reminds me of the Mercury kicker motor that I took off my boat and put my old 1960 Evenrude boat Motor that starts right up. The little indicators should have letters like Choke, run. There has got to be a better brand of blowers than these cold starting pieces of junk plastic. They need a place to put ones foot on it while it’s on the ground.
Bought the best model they this summer before going to the back pack one.
i can get my stihl stuff to start on first pull lol
@@bretts1 funny...
15 yrs, never an issue. Same with my saw, trimmer...
@@tunerd1 I don't believe you.
Not working, ready to trash this thing.
STIHL is horrible.
