That poorly designed cabin filter location reminds me of Mercedes W204. I had to put my head on the passenger floor then looking up the filter when I replace that dumb thing. When all is done, my head was so dizzy & can't stand up. But then I think I just saved $200+ by DIY, no more headache. Great video & presentation as always !
When I worked for a car auction, we liked driving Mercedes and BMW's when they came in, but my impression of them is that they seem to over engineer everything. This cabin air filter is a good example.
Thanks! Im about to try this myself thanks to your video. By theway, i have the warning in my car and in the porsche app about the filter. If i change it myself, will the warning go?
@@DriveTalkCarsi finally got round to do this. I got the filter directly from a shop in Germany and it only cost me €15!. Thanks to your video i was able to do this within 10 minutes. Its very easy although a little awkward because of the position, but super easy. Also i can confirm that the warning message i had in my notification centre went after changing the filter. So thanks so much and i encourage everyone to do this themselves.

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, it isn’t the best location at all. But the savings make up for it. 😂

You’re welcome! Go for it. I never received any notification via app or car regarding filter. I replaced it based on the dealership’s recommendation.

@capuman That is awesome! I am glad it worked out. Thank you for sharing.
Damn $300? Where can I sign up for that? I'll change these filters all day every day for that kind of money lol.
