Please correct me if I'm wrong on this.... I'm pretty sure they did not want to be a household name. I'm almost positive they didn't want to be.... not to say they were not successful. I think they stayed independent for part of their career and did not sign with a major label. They did initially for what was it?? The pinback album called PINBACK? ??? Which album had Peneople on it? Anyways, they had air play then, that single did well for the band. But, I think, they went independent and did like a ton of shows with no drummer just a drum machine. This was at the time when the world was big into like Smashing Pumpkins etc.... In the end they sold out stadiums with NO RADIO airplay whatsoever -> almost none -> , but it was odd, because they would have these big shows with like a 4-piece band.... then would fall back to Just ROB, and Armistead. ALSO Rob at least, was always writing music, I think he was involved with 2 - or 3 other bands other than Pinback.
I was born too late. Wish i could of been there. Pinback will always be my favorite band. Im 25. Was born about a decade too late for these guys and this covid is putting a damper on my prime.
Toured France on a bike three years ago and this band was one of my only headphone mainstays. The music sticks so hard its like having a slideshow in my head whenever I hear them. Have to see them live.
Holy shit I can't believe this show is online. My buddy and I flew down from Edmonton, Canada at the last minute for these two shows. Absolutely legendary trip. JP Incorprated opened as well, first time we'd heard of him. I still play that album from time to time lol
pinback não é para todas as pessoas. . . É banda mais maça que já ouvi, só não entendo por que tão poucas pessoas ouvem ela. . . Principalmente no Brasil ;-)
@mvideojukebox, thank you so much for posting this ! Pinback Rock and I am a native San Diegan ! I really appreciate you adding the song titles and times for the songs , I really appreciate that ! You rock !
saw them yesterday in berlin. maybe the sixth time, but it was as stunning and incredible as the first time seeing them back with their first lp. thanks for the video!
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE PLEASE TAB THE FUCK OUT OF CRUTCH!! I NEED to learn how to play it, I've only got like a sixth of it down. Which really is nothing at all lol.
Um, yeah, I guess this is pretty cool...why not post a fucking louis xiv entire show too? J/K this is fucking awesome, thanks so much, I loved these guys when I lived in SD and still do. Rock the Casbah, rock Sasafras!
Just wait until after the show. I waited around and Rob jumped down off stage, I went up to him and told him how awesome the set was, and he gave me a huge hug haha. Then I got him and Zack to sign my copy of blue screen life. Great night.
Whats Wrong with this World that Pinback is not a household name....
