It's funny, I've seen them a bunch of times basically since the Blue Screen Life tour and definitely that first time seeing them, it was so disconcerting hearing some of the gentler songs in uptempo, thinking specifically of Penelope. Now I'm used to it but they even have that shirt now about seeing Pinback and they played everything a little faster 😁
Thanks so much for recording this, huge fan of Pinback as well as Nick Reinhart's stuff (Tera Melos, Disheveled Cuss, etc.) so it's very very cool to see them together. Despite being such a big fan of Nick's work I'm still shocked to see how well he did filling in, incredibly impressive! I imagine I'll be rewatching this video for years to come.
I mean, Nick is a great musician. The shit he does on guitar in Tera Melos is totally insane. But Zach is so next level. Can you imagine the all-around pants-shitting that would have taken place the day that the doc told Zach that he couldn't keep touring? I must admit, as a massive fan of his, not having him there was a bit disappointing (my last time seeing them live was in 2015), but glad that with Nick in the fold they could keep touring...
