People mention his winrate when getting a triple double in the regular season, but his win rate when getting a triple double in the playoffs is only 50% as mentioned by someone already, so not much value there for his triple doubles correlating to winning in the playoffs. On the other hand, his win rate in the playoffs when shooting 45% FG or better is 72%, so clearly there's a lot of value in him being efficient in the playoffs, and a lot of detriment to the team when he's not efficient in the playoffs, and we all know which way he usually is. Russ needs to add more triple dubs in his career since the Joker and Luka will seriously challenge his record before their careers are done. The Joker alone can easily average a triple double along the way especially once Jamal Murray is healthy. Doncic has averaged 28, 8 and 8 for two straight seasons and is another triple double machine with or without a superstar teammate.

It’s a shame you don’t understand context. I am in no way saying Russ is not a good & sometimes great player. However he’s a flawed player. His flaws are so detrimental to winning basketball they can’t simply be overshadowed because he’s got the heart of a champion. Hes had a great career, one many players would trade for in a heartbeat. However as far as being the best at his position? Being a clutch player? Beating a smart player? None of those attributes come to mind when you think of him. The problem is those attributes are some of the key ones that separate hard playing athletic guys like Russ from championship players. He doesn’t have the luxury of saying he’s never played with top level talent. He’s been on many contending teams through this career & never delivered. Him & kd never delivered. Russ is an Former MVP who’s played with 2 other MVP’s!!! Great stats, plays hard, never quits, etc etc in the end he’s not a winner & doesn’t have a style that translates to winning. If he’s your best player, or 2nd best then you have no shot of winning. His game won’t age well as he approaches his mid 30’s

When Westbrook gets a triple double his winning percentage is higher than 75%. That means his teams all have needed this production from him. He’s a great winner and to those who actually watch the game they’d realize he wins ALOT more than he should given the disadvantages of the teams he’s been on. Never a great coach. Never a leverage over opponents. Heat big 3 vs inexperienced OKC big 3. Kd & Russ vs 73-9 Warriors (tbh kd choked game 6 when they should have won he turned over the ball 3x in the clutch with a 7-9pt lead...) Paul George became George Paul. Oladipo wasn’t ready(depresmaguc traded him and learned from Russ to step on necks instead of feeling sorry for himself). Small ball rockets vs Lebron & AD... and he’s been so hard headed that he’s played through so much injuries which ruined production in some playoff series. Russell Westbrook is too underrated by analysis in the media that don’t actually know the game of basketball like Max. Russ is definitely top 3 all time among PGs. Only sport analysis that actually know the game and what they say are Jalen Rose and Isiah Thomas. The rest are just entertaining.

Paul George shot 2/16 in a crucial G6 that they lost by 5. Russ had 46, yeah he took a lot of shots but who else would you rather have taken those shots?? Melo?? Raymond Felton?? If PG shoots 5/16 they win that game and they go home for G7 with momentum. Melo averaged 11ppg on 37%fg and was a negative in that series.

They could've won in 2017 vs Houston. They lost 3 out of 4 games with fewer than 7 points. Oladipo averaged 10 on 34%fg & 24%3pt and Andre Roberson was OKC's 2nd leading scorer shooting 17% from the FT line!! Let that sinc in...Look at this: In G4 Russ had a 35 point triple double and OKC lost by 4. Andre Roberson shot 2/12 from the line!!!

Sure, right now he plays more as a forward than a point guard, but he was a starting point guard at cleveland and can turn it on whenever he wants !!!

Rachel I love you but of course Beal will tell you that Russ pushes him, he is his teammate. Look at Russell's career and you will find evidence that players get better without him and he under-achieved with the supporting cast he had
Had Harden and KD but didn't win. They were young so I give him a pass. However, Harden leaves and turns out to be better than him
With kd also didn't win. KD left and won (but here he went to the warriors so I give him a pass as well)
Has MVP season because carried a "bad team" but Oladipo leaves and immediately turns into a superstar followed by Sabonis
With PG having a MVP type of season he loses to rookie donovan mitchell
Leaves OKC along with PG and OKC actually become better with a bunch of below average players + cp3
In rockets he actually played his best basketball when they traded capela, propz to him. But Harden didn't want him
Now with Wizards don't let this end of season fool you. They are under achieving. How come Russell be that good and barely make the playoffs (if they make it) with Beal having a scoring champ type of season?
He has an impact but for a player with such a high usage to be so inefficient you won't win in today's nba. In the rockets he had lower usage so he was actually better despite worse stats

Lol, these #’s mean nothing. He’s not a high IQ player & never will be. He’s tough & plays hard but that doesn’t translate to winning. It’s not an accident his crazy seasons are happening with terrible teams with no shot of doing anything. He’s a high usage low IQ player who has a high level will.
You don’t get in the MVP conversation simply because YOU had a good year. You put Luka on that team & change nothing else & they are a 6 seed

@@kembryembry3394 Like Rachel acting like 70% win rate when he puts up a triple double is that good of an achievement... There are teams with higher win rates than that and keep in mind that triple double games are still his best ones. He's not enough efficient in order to have the ball on his hands so much time and a bad shooter to be playing off the ball. No contending team wants him, period.
