I don't think Haaland would've scored a goal against the Milan team when they had Nesta and Maldini. His biggest achievement would be to touch the d line at max.
Bro people really dont understand what kind of monsters those defenders back in the day were. The likes of Maldini, Nesta, Cannavaro, Puyol, Thuram, Stam, Vidic, etc.
That era was great for defenders this era is great for wingers.
Puyol way too overrated
Yes u are right and John Terry...
Physical defense too , they’ll wear these modern players out
I love Italians speaking English
The best CB of all time. Freakishly athletic for his size let alone as a CB. Unmatched tackling ability. Phenomenal positional awareness too.
I'll never forget R9 dominating at Old Trafford and receiving a standing ovation from both sets of fans as he exited I couldn't believe what I was seeing I dunno if I'll ever see that again 😂😂
At that time, if I am not wrong, he just had 1 and half legs because of injuries he suffered when he played in Serie A. He was such an amazing phenomenon.
@@sr3821yeah he was nothing near his 100% but still scored a Hattrick..
@@sr3821yeah he was nothing near his 100% but still scored a Hattrick..
Seria A in the 90s was the next level it was all about defence, but the strikers you had were next level. Ronaldo Boksich Ravinelli Vialli Salas Batistuta Weah Signori Crespo
Nesta made the greatest tackle I have ever seen against Wiltord at euro 2000. Aggressive but got the ball cleanly and he never complained.
Nesta was a beast of a defender at Lazio, and Milan
Nesta was absolute class and underrated probably the best CB to go against diminutive, skilful players when he was on it & focused he got the job done
My man put the cross up when he said “too much space” hahahahaha
i just noticed that xd
Ask Haaland if he thinks he would handle Nesta
Dude can’t even handle Van Djik lol imagine how locked up he’d be by Nesta
@@CJVP99 Fr
@@CJVP99 he has handled van djik easily before mate. against netherlands so youre wrong there
@@mustplay7212 haaland was struggling against rüdiger💀
Haaland can score many goals cause he's playing in Pep's system. Not because he's great.
New generation will never understand how good nesta was in his prime, ill bet good money that he can defend alone vs 4 attackers and still win
Nesta be like "prime me ?? Even Messi can't handle my 36, how could you questioning my prime".
Yup Messi handle him and 4 other AC Milan players in 1 attack and moves. Messi is MOTM also in that match
@@bench9967nesta and maldini will eat messi alive😂
@@wendy4522 lol
@@wendy4522 thats why Messi is MOTM. And Ronaldo never MOTM against Maldini even Nesta.
@@bench9967 bcs they already old.. what i mean is prime nesta and maldini will defeat prime messi😂
Nesta...what can i say....absolute legend!
I've seen some hell good CB defenders like Baresi,Cannavaro,Maldini,Puyol,Ferdinand,Thuram...but man Nesta was from another planet.
For me him and prime virgil are the best ever.
what a gentleman Nesta is
Now that Vidic and Nesta have said it, if Haaland scores 40+ goals again next season with every CB man marking him, then he truly is a beast.
Lol... against Maguire?? Haaland will not touch ball in 90s
Nesta would end Haaland's career. The guy tackled a prime Messi without even getting a warning. Remember that Nesta was 35 when he faced Messi
That's false. Check your stats. Nesta played 4 times against Messi (all in the 2011-12 season) and Messi scored 3 times in those 4 games (+ 3 assists). And Nesta received a yellow in every single one of those 4 games. So no, he did not "tackle" Messi. He just couldn't stop him. Facts are facts. Check them.
@@lucasfootball637so messi average goal against 35 years old nesta are below one goal a match.. And you say he can't handle messi.. And just remember messi was in his prime.. And play with the best team in the world.. And nesta was 35 years old. Back then
@@lucasfootball637 True. He couldn't stop Messi. But tell me the name of another defender who can stop a prime messi without fouling him
@@OlengGerrardnah bro , even prime Nesta cant handle prime Messi , i mean nobody can lmao
I think y'all didn't watch live prime messi or his old days 2007-2012 to stop the man you need to foul on him, just watch the classico 2009 just 15min of game and you see own many fouls he took they wanted to break his ankle but no succes, the classico 2010 when mourinho consigns were to tackle him and nothing else even chelsea 2006 and the classico same year back then they were breaking ankles and knees😅
Italian defenders like Nesta, Maldini, Baresi, Cannavaro, Costacurta, Tassotti or Scirea are just class and would eat that wannabe-viking for lunch...
Don't forget Baresi, Bergomi
And Zambrotta
Baresi was the best of all of them
Wow, people remember Baresi… he was one helluva defender
Some of these players never got to play at international level because there was such a depth in quality
One of my best defenders of all time 💪💪💪. Tough guy and no compromise. I love the way he manage the situation on the pitch.
Prime Nesta would be a Trauma for Hallaand
not really
@@adamirfan46hahah man you never watched football
@@adamirfan46pov:started watching football in 2022
Vidic said the same. Different pedigree of defenders
He's the beast guys back there.
He's against top attackers in their prime.
Ronaldinho, Ribery, Trezeguet, R9, Young Messi etc.
Hes defending the best midfielders:
Nedved, Del Piero, Gerrard, Lampard, Xavi.
He's facing best shooter:
R. Carlos, Henry, Juninho, Ronaldinho, and more.
Only Halland?
You ask the real CB who played against top top strikers R9, Terry henry, ibrahimovic, batistuta, rooney, CR7, Sheva, Crespo, Etoo,Adriano, Drogba, Raul, weah, vialli, Makkay, van nistelrooy, inzaghi,.......
Nesta: halland easy😅,, class different,Nesta the best defender in the world
Roy Makaay. I almost forgotten that man. He was a beast back then.

@@erwinkaka996 Yeah I remember that match watching as a 13 year old kid watching European football for the first time because I just watched EPL before that. UCL matches were in the early morning in my place that were my sleeping time as a school kid.
The first UCL match I watched was Deportivo vs Bayern group stage where Deportivo won 3-2 with Makaay scoring hatrick.
Now in my opinion Deportivo were the strongest. And like one month after that I watched Deportivo vs AC Milan from the same group with a pre set mind that Deportivo were the strongest club just to witnessed they got routed by Milan 4-0 lol.
Since then I became a football fanatic.
Yo seems old man, know dems 2000 era players. Hahaha
I think the reason why R9 is so difficult to defend because he's a new breed kind of striker at that time.
Pele regain strength with explosive and skill
Dude did you ever heard what he said?!?!?
He said he play against Messi and CR7 but R9 was another level.
No one was or is like R9
Period.
Go learn
The man is called the phenomenon 😮 pack squarez, Drogba & Henry in one Person to get a hint of his play style then add Firmino
@@chiarafantini6915he played against CR7 not in his prime
Crazy thing is tho what he says about staying close not giving space and stuff against haaland is exactly what rudiger has been doing lol and it fucking works
No doubt! Cannavaro might have a bit of size problem against Haaland, but Nesta can definitely pocket Haaland.
Do not underestimate Cannavaro for his size, they tend to hit the hardest in tackle or physical challenge, even Maldini said that Franco Baresi is the hardest tackler he ever saw. Ivan Cordoba even managed to out strength Ibrahimovic during his early day in serie A, even Cannavaro manage to win a header against Mertesacker that leading to italy 2nd goal against Germany(2006 wc semi final)
Nesta was pure quality ... also, what he says about R9 is common knowledge to the ones who witnessed him on his prime, most unreal footballer ever
Some people started watching football in 2022 😂.
Haaland is nowhere near Cristiano, Messi, Ronaldo, Henry or even Mbappe.
what a deffencer he was so elegant and hard to cross! i love the italian mindset
Prime Nesta was ridicoulously good
Prime Nesta was monster. Italians had best cms in football history
Nesta was THAT MF GUY ☠️ legend
If R9 didn't get plagued by injuries, he'd be the most dominant striker ever. The killer instinct to finish and score goals are just out of this world.
the emphasis on R9 being different says it all. Fenomena!
Bro this man was the reason when i was a kid and a lot of my generation want to be deffender
Barasi and Maldini were mine
Nesta and Maldini were literally the best defensive duo ever
Nesta played against the GOAT. Pre Injury R9.
Rudiger : noted sir
Nesta is one of the GOATS when it comes to defending. Definitely top 5 of all time.
That itailin accent is just everything
I repeat The most underrated defender ever.
How is he underrated if lot of people think he's literally the greatest defender of all time ?😊
R9 had one of the most dominating primes. Haaland is a good player, but he can't dribble. R9 was going trought everyone.
No striker is close to the prime Ronaldo Brazilian level
He was so fast so strong and full of skills how can you stop this all 90 minutes
R9 was something else..
I was in Korea in the 90s before the age of smartphones and social media hyping up players.
R9's reputation was phenomenal even amongst school kids. Man struck a special kind of fear in everybody at the time. It was different kind of sensation-- sure, Messi and Cristiano may have achieved more, but R9 was such a phenomenon at the time
Such a disrespectful question 😢 i pity the fool
His words can say it all...❤R9 was the deadliest striker of all time
Nesta was one of my favourite players growing up, true baller
The respect R9 COMMANDS among soccer fans and legendary soccer players is just immense Zidane,Nesta,Maldini, Roberto Carlos,Desailly, Ibrahimovic, Seedorf,Terry Henry, Eto,Ronaldhiño all have said Ronaldo R9 was the GOAT 🐐 back then even Mourihño said it himself.
The crucifix sign 😂💀
