I think that it has to do because in the US version Joe, Q, Murr, and Sal are actual friends, they've worked together for a long time, before they created the show, they have chemistry and they know what embarrassed each other, therefore when making the jokes they know what to do to one another to embarrass each other which makes it hilarious!

I don't think it's THAT bad. Sure, it's basically Great Value version of the original, lol but if they just made it less obvious on copying certain aspects (Larry/Mickey), and did more interesting challenges, it could be watchable. There were a couple moments here that made me chuckle. But I am going off this one episode, so I have no idea if the show improved after.
In an attempt to be unbiased here, the problem boils down to 2 things, in my opinion; this show plays it too safe and the cast doesn't have the same chemistry to carry it. Could they be funny individually? Sure, but that doesn't lend itself to a format that relies on good teamwork between jokers (anyone who understands improv knows how imperative it is to have a good partner). I'm curious to check out season 3 of this variant, supposedly, they changed all of the staff in favor of 4 people who've known each other for 12 years (now why does that sound familiar?). I give the show credit for trying, they know what makes the show works, but it's lacking the heart.

the reason this kinda annoys me is the us version is like sal and cos project, they've been a comedy group for years. us brits thought ah that shows a success we'll do our own version and hire some random wannabe/failing comedians. the only slightly redeeming feature is marek larwood. hes a longtime collaborator with the brilliant greg davies. i went to the filming of a pilot of theres- the klang show and it was hilarious. While this is obviously isn't as good as the original version, everyone needs to take into account that this is the first episode. No shows are good their first episode. They're uncomfortable, and don't really know what they're doing yet. Also, the original jokers are going to have a huge advantage over anyone trying to replicate them since Murr, Joe, Q, and Sal are long time real life best friends and so have good intimate interpersonal relationships that are, off the camera, a lot like they are in front of the camera.

As someone not from UK or US and a big fan of the US version, I'd say that this version isn't too bad. I think it's also funny, but I've got problems understanding what they're saying because of the accent. Or maybe it's just the crappy quality of the audio and video here shown at 240p. I need to watch this in HD. But that's after i finish all the Impractical Jokers episodes that have been released until now. Currently watching season 2 and I'm totally hooked!

Then again, I watch Top Gear UK and I find them to be hilarious at times. Looks like the series had a complete lineup change and ended in 2016? I’m not surprised. I'm English and much prefer the US version, they're funnier characters and great guys! I somehow made it through the whole video, and though they seemingly gave it an honest try, I just don't see spark. To be honest I thought this one would be crasser, being from the mother of dry humor and off handed remarks. I didn't laugh once, the most it made me feel was uncomfortable. And pity.

I think their first mistake was having one of the jokers be a woman, the rules are just different for a woman aren't they? They generally wouldn't say some of the stuff the other guys would be willing to and assuming she's willing to say just about anything, there's never any real threat of being punched in the face like there is for the guys if they cross the line in some situations.
Not so good but i like the girl, i think she is very sexy, and don't care as much as the other girls, what others think for them. These women are rare.

I somehow made it through the whole video, and though they seemingly gave it an honest try, I just don't see spark. To be honest I thought this one would be crasser, being from the mother of dry humor and off handed remarks. I didn't laugh once, the most it made me feel was uncomfortable. And pity.

Are you kidding? The US series is successful because they are actually making an attempt at comedic improv. It’s not really about winning a challenge. I can’t believe I just heard the girl say, “you want to get inside the trunk,” and it ended. WTH! They’re just puppets. Literally puppets. Not even trying to be entertaining or attempting to create an act separate from Impractical Jokers US. Send them to school. Take improv or comedy classes.
I think their first mistake was having one of the jokers be a woman, the rules are just different for a woman aren't they? They generally wouldn't say some of the stuff the other guys would be willing to and assuming she's willing to say just about anything, there's never any real threat of being punched in the face like there is for the guys if they cross the line in some situations.
Not so good but i like the girl, i think she is very sexy, and don't care as much as the other girls, what others think for them. These women are rare.

abby lovelys Shameless, Fawlty Towers, Life On Mars, Red Dwarf, The IT Crowd, X Factor, Broadchurch. All UK originals which the US attempted to remake and all ended up horribly, so don't act all superior just because ONE British remake isn't quite as good as the original.
