FINALLY a Nikon D3500 battery grip!

- I really wanted to extend my battery life. Video recording drains the battery too much and I have to charge the battery every time after use. The problem is that there is no dedicated battery grip for a Nikon D3500, despite the camera being out for almost two years, so I took a risk and made a purchase that I didn't regret.

thanks , Man! you made my day. I've been looking for one since I bought it 4 years ago... my upgrade to my D3000 that has a vertical grip...
One of the best sensors/processors for this format, great camera for many kinds of jobs
It's really good, recording can be a little janky and needs some getting used to. I have nothing better at the moment, so it's it's the best one that I have 😊🙂
Awesome video I'm getting one for my D3500
Thanks for the idea man
this video helps me to buy a battery grip too:) thanks, Milan! More power!
I'm glad to hear that. Enjoy 😀
@@milanfixer Welcome sir:) thanks again:)
Great video...👍
Same here bro... thanks for the tip. I will buy from local market. It costs much less than than online store
Thank u!
hi can you help me what is the name of this battery grip and where should i order it for nikon d 3500 but i don't know which one
I recently came back to this camera from my blackmagic production 4k, it has a nice film look if used right. Stay at iso 100, shoot 24p hq at 50 shutter speed and shoot vivid profile sharpness all the way down and clarity at 0 and don't shoot raw (surprisingly looks more digital.)
Thank you very much for the pointers! I'll definitely keep them in mind 👍😊
It's fit correctly for you
Hey dude! I plan on getting this battery grip did you manage to find a way to fix the cable?
Work to micro usb to Jack?
Any updates on making the shutter button on the battery grip work?
No. Since it's my only camera and I don't have a backup, I don't think I'll risk breaking it.
Hey hi! Have you tried using a 3.5mm cable to micro USB?
Not yet. I was pretty busy with university. But as soon as I try, I'll post a video tutorial.
@@milanfixer PLease, I think all D3500 owners are wating for this
How did you get the shutter on the battery grip to work?, Ive tried 2 different cables and neither of them work. Do you have possibly have a link for one that will work.
I didn't. I don't need that shutter button. I just wanted to extend my battery capacity, because, before I tried this, there was no way to do so either.
@@milanfixer Ok thanks, Do you know if there would be a way to get it to work? I've looked into the usb port and it seems like it is just for connecting to the computer. Thanks Anyway.
@@NFSmaster9 no it will not work nikon has moved away from cables and infered remotes and uses a smart phone app now
Hi. did you have time to check this connection 3.5mm to micro usb cable?
Sadly no. I had Covid, then I was too busy with my PhD. I won't rush with that, because I don't have another camera to replace if I accidentally short something out and end up breaking it.
Great video, do you think the shutter button could work if you got a new 3.5mm to microusb?
I believe it would, because it uses similar circuitry that other Nikon cameras use. But, to be completely honest, I didn't even try to look for it, or make it myself. I mostly shoot videos and rarely have the need to shoot vertically. If I make the cable myself or if I manage to buy it, I'll post a video update about it. Thanks for watching 😊👍
Milan thank you
Can you put 2 batterie tho and will the 2 batteries work? Im scared to buy it and only 1 battery works out of the 2 can yoy confirm it?
Yes. It works with both two and one battery inside the grip. Just make sure both batteries are functioning.
@@milanfixer thx a lot ❤️
Hows your camera now cause im planning to buy a d5600 grip for my d3500
Works perfectly ☺️ Absolutely no problems. It doesn't overheat, it isn't slowed down, nor is the image quality affected in any way.
@@milanfixer thank you so much by the way whats the brand of the battery grip again?
Amazon doesn't sell it . ist hard to find , can't wait 2 months
Tnks
Hi its really fit to D3500? but the battery grip is for D5500 and D5600
Yes. Because Nikon made D3500 body the same as the design of D5500. If you put Nikon D3400 and Nikon D3500 side by side, you'd see that D3500 is smaller and looks completely different.
@@milanfixer thank you very much
How do you remove the battery door on the d3500
I showed it in the video. The cover has a clank mechanism that you just pull off. Like on any other DSLR.
@@milanfixer thank you! I have the d3500 and this video really helped me😃
Image goes strait to Mirror less sensor . DSLR image goes strait to the sensor as well , the mirror will flip & flip noise is the only difference .. They both get imagine send to sensor
Link doesn't work... 😢
Is there a shop link in Amazon for the Same battery grip? Also the shotter works??
I don't shop on Amazon, they don't deliver to Serbia most of the time, so I don't really know.
I didn't play with the shutter function at all, because it's the only camera I have and I don't want to completely destroy it.
Sorry that I didn't really help you 😔
@@milanfixer no I meant, putting the battery grip is it possible to shoot directly from the vertical grip button?
@@montecristo3412 No. The shutter button on the grip doesn't work. You'd have to use the default shutter button.
@@milanfixer ok but using the supplied cable you can use this additional vertical shot?
@@montecristo3412 That's the point I've made in the video, at about 4:40. You can't. Because older models had some unknown port (the supplied cable has that jack), but the D3500 has the micro USB port.
jel si probao da osposobis shutter?
Nisam. Verovatno I neću skoro, pošto mi je to jedina kamera.
You are completely right my brother! What really matters is that it extends battery life.
Send me the link please to this batter pack can't find it please
It's this one. But now it's 40$, because it comes with two batteries.

Kucoooo 😀😀 kako radi grip i baterije, sad nadjoh snimak. I ja sam kupio D3500, sto ti kazes gledam ga godinama, bem ti Srbiju i muku 😀 i platu.
Don't you just still have the shutter on your camera?
I do. Many people ask me if the shutter on the grip works. It doesn't. It's not compatible. The shutter on the camera works perfectly 👍
Disculpe realizó algún cable para el disparador? Gracias por su respuesta
That’s not dangerous for camera’s life ??? :0
No. Because you aren't changing the voltage you were originally supplying to the camera - if you were, that would damage it. You are just increasing the battery capacity of the camera. It would almost be the same if you were using a Nikon wall adapter: it would be the same voltage, but it would provide the power infinitely at the expense of mobility.
Hey , could you give your instagram id ! I have to ask you some doubts about Nikon d3500 .
I don't have an Instagram account. But you may ask me anything here, it might help someone else who has doubts similar as yours.
@@milanfixer ok
@@milanfixer I'm in a plan to buy a Nikon d3500 camera ! My preference is photography . Will it be much better when compared to canon 1500d ?
@@damn4721 It really comes down to your personal preference (brand loyalty and stuff). I saw that the cameras were pretty similar and you won't make much of a mistake choosing one over the other. Since you told me that photography was your preference it won't make much of a difference. But when it comes to video shooting, Nikon D3500 is better. To be honest, the reason why I chose Nikon over Canon, was because Canon cameras were really expensive in my country (for some reason our customs charge abnormal prices for importing Canon equipment). Nikon is really good, but finding affordable lenses for it is really difficult (so Canon is much better in that regard, also most of the accessories available online were meant for Canon cameras). Finally, the micro USB jack and a non-standard body on a Nikon D3500 created a real problem, because it has almost no accessories made for it - it forces you to improvise like i did right here. Remember, the quality of the photos is mostly from the lenses (GLASS IS KING), so don't stress to much about the camera. Just pick one of the cameras that's the best bang for your buck and enjoy.
@@damn4721 except tht d3500 doesn't have wifi, it's better than C1500d
