President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has set out his vision for a new Somalia in a Centre stage event with the President of IFAD, Alvaro Lario at IFAD's Governing council in Rome.
As Somalia continues to experience an historic drought, pushing millions of Somalis into acute food insecurity, Alvaro Lario, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) announced today during IFAD’s 46th session of the Governing Council that it will substantially strengthen its support to Somalia and resume its investments after loan arrears resulted in a three-decade long suspension.
