Wow, the story seems to match reality a little too well. You normally don’t get such an explanation from a dead person.
But it seems as though money was buying freedoms for those whom could afford it....and that, combined with the possibility of great amounts of money being owed for “personal business arrangements”
I’m definitely not backing up anything, but why would he write a story like that? Unless.... It really was happening.

Still, it’s definitely not cool to kill innocent people. And for sure it not cool cross the line between victim and the monster. Just Because you were a victim doesn’t mean that you’re allowed to be the one victimizing others.

Yes, you are right--when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. This will make it easier to identify and incarcerate criminals, as they're the ones who are found to have guns!
